The letter is thoroughly empathetic, relating to Jeanne the death of Henri's mother when he was very young. He writes that he'll be here for her in writing and especially when she gets back.

The rest is small talk. Keeping her up to date with the happenings of the school, art club, etc. He asks about what her family's home is like, what her father does, etc.

He includes one of his better recent drawings, a sketch of a few flowers, though it's still not terribly grand.
