  17. As for the Slingshot and Elite Soldier DLC's, they're just little bonus extras. Look them up on the ufopaedia if you're interested in what you get from them.

  20. The Aliens will automatically take a country at the start of the game to build their first Base. This can happen again if they are rich, but any lost country can be retaken if you assault the alien base in it.

  23. Ignore it, You wont be ready for some time to take on these big missions. These missions are how aliens will generate their resources.

  36. No, There's no penalty for ignoring crashed ufos. The only thing you're missing out on is free XP and corpses and a tiny bit of alloys/elerium.

  39. You want at least a full A-team of LCPL/CPL's and half of your barracks should be specs to train up later.

  42. Meld indicates how much resources aliens currently have at their disposal and the lowest/highest they can get is 3/15 (5-30 in 15a)

  44. 6-10 (12-20) // If they're at this point, you should start focusing on your air game more and shooting down more ufos.

  47. >RESOURCES AND RESEARCH?
  48. There are three strategic variables in LW:
  49.  
  50. * Research: This dictates the types of aliens you'll encounter, as well as their upgrades (perks, health, aim, etc); it also dictates the types of UFO they send, as well as UFO upgrades (aim, weapons, health, etc). They aliens gain research in the following ways:
  51.  
  52. -> 1 point per day
  53. -> After a UFO completes a research mission
  54. -> 1 point per XCOM soldier left behind (alive, dead or dying)
  55. -> 2 * Amount of defected countries
  56.  
  57. * Resources: This dictates the amount of missions you'll get, their type and the amount of aliens in them. The aliens gain resources in the following ways:

  59. -> Successful resource gathering missions
  60. -> In the late game, they get free resources
  61.  
  62. The aliens LOSE resources the following way:
  63. -> Damage dealt on UFOs
  64. -> UFOs shot down
  65. -> Landed UFOs assaulted
  66. -> Terror Mission created
  67. -> Infiltration mission created

  69. * XCOM Threat level: This is dictates the types of mission you'll get. It's increased by shooting down UFOs and assaulting Alien Bases. This is how the threat level works:

  71. LOW THREAT LEVEL, LOW RESOURCES:

  73. -> Generate harvest missions

  75. HIGH THREAT LEVEL, LOW RESOURCES:

  77. -> Pay resources to generate harvest missions where you don't have satellite coverage

  79. LOW THREAT LEVEL, HIGH RESOURCES:

  81. -> Generate infiltration missions
  82. -> Generate a metric fuckton of Terror Missions

  84. HIGH THREAT LEVEL, HIGH RESOURCES:

  89. Back in b14 and earlier, Every in site recon is a chryssalid or a zombie. But as of b15 more enemies show up so you may need to change tactics a bit

  93. -> Dont bother with cover
  94. -> Bring Tac vests instead of Tac armor (The extra health means jack shit to lids as they'll 1-hit you anyway)
  95. -> Bring a large amount of flashbangs and AP grenades
  96. -> Just give everyone a shotgun and utilize box strats

  98. -> Just watch Beaglerush's LnI episode #14 - Into the hive

  100. * B15 Site recon
  101. ->Starting in b15, more than just lids and zombies will show up, such as seekers and thin men.
  102. ->Keep utilizing them box strats and wait for everyone of those lid pods to run into your overwatch before moving on
  103. ->You still want to bring mainly Tac vests/shotguns, but now a sniper/scout with a marksman rifle and an infantry with a regular rifle will help this time around.

  108. We dont worship, but simply beagle is a huge xcom player that we happen to enjoy, He also streams a lot and talks in the general with us

  111. Download Notepad++ and simply edit DefaultGameCore.ini to your own liking, Everyone plays the way they enjoy

  113. >WHAT ARE THESE STARTING BONUSES FOR EACH COUNTRY? WHY ARE SOME SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN OTHERS
  114. Introduced in b15, each country gets extra starting bonuses for beginning with that country. These bonuses are not at all ment to be balanced against eachother, but are simply something to help customize your game a bit more. Once you get to the point where you launch satellites you can get mini versions of these bonuses.

  117. It's up to you, if you have trouble with air game then select the bonuses that help you with air, if you have trouble with base management then select Cheyenne Mountain or something similar.

  120. Secure your own continent first with interceptors and satellites, then your top priority is NA as you'll save A LOT of credits

  123. You can start base assaults early if you know what you're doing, But once you get MEC's and gauss/pulse weapons it's safe to say you're ready, But be warned that after a base assault the aliens will be pissed and shell out the money for a XCOM HQ defense

  125. >WHATS BETTER, GENE MODS OR MECS?
  126. both are equal, but mecs are just more worth it short and long term

  129. You want to start PSI pretty early since they'll need A LOT OF TRAINING before lategame/Temple assault ship

  132. As said on the nexus page, you dont need to win every mission, it's okay to skip ufos/abductions if you dont have the troops ready,But do not skip Bomb/DLC council missions or terror missions, skipping terror missions will automatically make that nation leave the XCOM project and Council missions do not repeat (Until late game)

  135. Head over to Xcom-Enemy-Unknown/XEW/XCOMGAME/Locatization/INT and then rightclick XComGame.int and edit with Notepad++
