11. Why she is in Adellaine: Cornelia’s family, the Cromwell’s, live in Adellaine – their main estate is on Cliff Side Terrace. The head of the household, and Cornelia’s father, is Baron Edmund Cromwell. Edmund achieved his peerage due to his work in commerce. The Cromwell’s are a family of bankers and merchant’s (which shows in the family crest which includes a merchant’s wagon), but they are not an old family; Edmund is the first head and founder of the house. He started life as a commoner, a traveling bard, but as he taught himself to read and the art of trading, he also began to use his contacts throughout the queendom to finance other people’s ventures. By the time he earned his peerage he was already as rich as many nobles. Edmund never did marry; all of this children are adopted they, like Cornelia, are orphan’s from the streets.

 13. Cornelia herself is the middle child of the dozen or so children Edmund has adopted and unlike her sibling’s, who worked in commerce or the arts, she choose the histories. Unlike most people, who explore ruins simply for the chance of finding treasure, Cornelia approaches ruins much like how a mason approaches building a cathedral or castle – as a problem to be solved. But despite her goal of trying to understand the reasons behind the ruins and what occurred long ago she must still bring back treasure to sell to further fund her explorations. This is due to fact that her father will not fund a venture that makes nothing. Most of her no field research is done at the families’ estate outside of the city, which has an extensive library and set of workshops.
