97. Hello, listeners. How has your fall been going so far? This time of year always brings me the blues. Spooky season is over and Christmas isn't yet here, and for some reason all the Salem residents I run into insist on recounting horrifically sad tales. It's rather depressing.

98.
 99. On a happier, there was a 13 car pileup on Main Street this afternoon! No one was hurt, and the cause was because of a kitten sat right in the middle of the street. The first car slammed on their brakes to avoid hitting her, and the rest of the cars followed suit. Thousands of dollars of damage has been done, but the kitty is safe! I've got her here with her in the studio with me right now and boy, is she precious! Look at her tiny pink nose, and her little fluffy paws! If anyone out there is interested in adopting this little fur baby, please contact me at the station after the show. Thirty legitimate references and proof of suitable living conditions will be required.

 117. Listeners, it's time for Slumber Party with Ezra Sterling! I'm currently wearing my hot dog thermal pajamas with my tie dye fuzzy socks. 118.
 119. Ezra: Whether it's religious, cultural, or just a strange quirk, we all have family traditions. What's one tradition or habit that's specific to your family, and is it something you would pass on to the next generation?

120.
 121. Kiera Stone: Hi Ezra! Good to hear from you again. Family traditions? Mhmm, let me think for a moment. Ah yes. My family didn’t do anything grand. When my brother and I were growing up, every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas, my parents would have the family host a talent show before or after dinner. It was usually just for the four of us or when we were with extended family. My brother and I would do the same “Who’s on First?” skit by Abbot & Costello. We both thought it was absolutely hilarious, no matter how many times we did. Everyone else…well they might have thought otherwise [chuckles]. Even if the two of us would do a few corny jokes, our parents would ask us to a piece of music for them. I would play something on the cello where as my brother played the violin. My mom would do some readings of poetry, and my dad would sing. If we were with cousins, we would all try to do something together for the aunts and uncles. I think I would like to continue this tradition with my own family. It was always a time for us to unwind and relax. We also had a safe place to be creative or show our talents.

122.
 123. Ajay Desai: Yo, been a while since I had one of these. Family traditions during the holidays... well, I don’t think it’s cultural as far as I know since I come from a multicultural background, but it is a weird quirk. For Halloween my family would have a theme to dress up as, as per my mother’s choosing. I remember one year my mum dressed me up as a cowboy. Thanksgiving everyone helps make food, Amd it’s the same at Christmas. Christmas Eve we open one present, then the rest on Christmas Day, every big holiday my dad makes a pot of curry and instead of traditional American Meals, we end up having a buffet of different foods that are our favorites. I think I’d let my kids pick their own costumes, but the rest of the traditions, yeah I’d keep those. The holidays just don’t feel right otherwise. Hopefully, I didn’t screw up this amswer. -laughs- night!

124.
 125. Valerie Sage: This isn't really a Sage family tradition, but it did become something my father and I took as our own as well. All my life, we lived with Annamaria and Walden Delos and their family was very close and they had so many traditions. But since my father and I kind of became a part of their family they took one of theirs and allowed us to weave and create something new for all of us. It has to do with Christmas, as that is a holiday we all love and adore. Whenever we are decorating for the holiday, a special place in the house is designated as a sort of altar. Now, this is where it used to be the Delos’ birthplace of the baby Jesus as they were very much a Catholic family, and utilized the figures that Annamaria had collected over the years and those that were passed down to her. She still has her section for her Holy Sacrament but it is now accompanied with things my father and I believe in. The idea is that we are all to place something on the altar that we believe in, we can also add photographs of people we love and admire…things like that. It’s a way for us to celebrate and give thanks and remember everything that have and love in life. A celebration altar is what we called it and even though Annamaria and Walden are no longer with us, my father and I have taken to carry on this tradition ourselves.

126.
 127. Ezra: If you could know the answer to one burning question that no one has never definitively been able to answer, what would it be, and why does the question intrigue you so much?

128.
 129. Violet Burke: Oh, man, that’s a good question, Ezra. I spend a lot of time wondering many, many questions, so picking just one is rather difficult for me. Em… I mean, I suppose some of the more obvious questions are what is the meaning of life and all of that, but honestly I’m more curious about smaller things. One thing I’ve wondered all my life is what makes someone like one thing, but not like another? I’ve been told it just… happens. I’ve even studied psychology to try and understand it. Somethings about neurons and chemicals released in the brain that differs from person to person. So I’m familiar with the scientific aspect, but what is it about human nature that makes us all enjoy and despise different things? I’ve spent a lot of time wondering about it, and I think it’s because so much of what others enjoy don’t have the same effect on me, no matter how hard I try. For a while, I wondered if something was wrong with me. But my time in Salem has taught me that that’s not the case – and that I actually do have more in common with others than I initially thought I did. Still, the differences still exist, and while they make life interesting, it’s always a curious point of contention in my mind.

130.
 131. Ezra: Ooh, I love this one: If you could go on a date with any fictional character, who would you go with and what date would you plan?

132.
 133. James Monroe: Well, Ezra, every queen needs a king. I would totally go on a date with my main man: bone daddy, Jack Skellington. I mean, what a guy. Am I right, ladies? And what would we do on this date? Well, we’d obviously reminisce about our best and scariest past Halloweens over a candle-lit feast of the very finest caramel apples and candy and cider, tossing left overs to Zero. And then we’ll enjoy a nice, evening stroll through the cemetery. Y’know scare some children, carve some pumpkins, practice our evil laughs… I’d share some of my best ghost bits. I’m thinking we’d conclude the night by watching classic Munsters.. OH, and the Addams Family. I’ve always connected with Morticia Addams on a personal level, you know. Anyway, step aside Sally, I’m comin’ for your man!

134.
 135. Benjamin Darling: I could pick any fictional character? Wow, this will not be an easy pick. There are so many wonderful fictional characters I’d love to meet. I guess we can go with the simple route, who did I have a crush on? While I would not mean to step on anyone’s toes by this answer, this would certainly not be a romantic engagement just a simple man wanting to meet his favorite princess. Which leads me to my answer: Buttercup from The Princess Bride. She always seemed like such a fascinating character to me, even in the film adaptation! I’d obviously have to plan some sort of an adventure. Dinner would probably be a picnic out on a nice field, where no ogres or knights can find us and disturb our moment. After I charm her I’d ask to meet all her friends and of course her true love, Westley. Then we can all go on a quest to save more people from harm and maybe even other women who would be forced into marriages they don’t want to be a part of. I feel like Buttercup would feel strongly about that. This completely ruins the date but how amazing does that sound? She gets a free meal, meets a new friend and then we can all go on an adventure together to save gentlemen and damsels in distress. Honestly, that would be the date of a lifetime. And I’d get to meet some pretty awesome characters. Maybe gain a few tips from Westley and Buttercup about their romance.
 136.

137.
 138. Emily O'Hara: Hi, Ezra! Ugh, Audrey, stop it’s my turn to answer the question, Hold on, Ezra! Audrey, stop! Go away! Sorry about that, Ezra. Some of my friends are ridiculous. This is a tough one! But I’ve been watching a lot of Star Wars lately, and I’m going to go with Princess Leia. Princess Leia is a complete badass and not someone you just get to wine and dine. You have to earn a date with her. I think after earning that, we would go and do something fun and away from people. Like horseback riding or a maybe we’d go to a dance lesson. I feel like a date with Leia would be a go with the flow type of thing where she can get away from leading The Resistance. I wouldn’t need to have anything extravagant planned because she deserves a break. Ezra, I have to go, Audrey is making kissy faces at me, making fun of me for my crush on Princess Leia again. Audrey!

 143. As we near the end of our show, it's time for a scary story! Turn on your nightlight and hold your own hand as we listen to a spooky tale from our very own Calvin Masion. Take it away, Calvin!

144.
 145. Let’s see… I’ve got quite a few to tell. Some less appropriate than others. Since I can’t have you losing listeners, Ezra, I will go with one I’ve heard recently.

146.
 147. Our story takes us to Centralia, Pennsylvania. Here, there resided a derelict psychiatric facility, worn down long before the entire town began to slowly succumb to a rather unearthly demise. The facility was upheld, at least until the noxious fumes, perilous sinkholes, and thickened fog had gotten so unholy it forced nearly everyone out of town. Any sustainable resources that were coming in had suddenly stopped altogether. Patients were confined indoors, food was rationed, medical supplies scarce. The place had become a prison, a change which garnered a few doctors and nurses to become sympathetic towards those in their care. However, the same could not be said for those that chose to abandon or neglect them.

148.
 149. The Warden was a heartless man, selfish and stubborn to a fault. He would fail to meet not only the needs of his patients, but the doctors and nurses that took care of them. The only thing he loved were his two German Shepards that were almost always at his side. Day after day the warden would mock his patients and staffs requests, deny them care of food, and when he was feeling especially nasty? He’d rob patients of their rations just to feed them to his dogs and watch that bit of hope melt away from their faces. The world was so busy crumbling around him, he didn’t care to think that one day it would take him with it.

150.
 151. On a particularly stormy evening, lightning lit up the sky. Thunder boomed and shook the very foundation of the earth. Finally pulled from his slumber, the warden awoke with a start when he realized that he was in a very confined padded room. In panic, he ran to the door, demanding that he be released immediately. His cries were met with a pair of eyes through the single narrow slit in the door. The sound of his dogs whimpering somewhere in the distance caused his anxiety and fear to spike.
152. ”LET ME OUT!” he would bellow. In the end, he was only met with one word.
153. ”Soon.”

154.
 155. Anytime and everytime he would shout or cry he was met with that same response. When he begged for his freedom, when he requested to eat, when he’d asked if his dogs had eaten.
156. “Soon.”

157.
 158. ‘Soon’ eventually became a reality as his door was opened without a word. He seized the chance to make his escape but upon exiting, realized that he was surrounded by makeshift walls and mesh, all of it bottle-necking forward. With nowhere else to go, he followed its path beneath the ill lighting. The walls grew dangerously close and at its narrowest, thousands of razor blades were jutting out, angrily burrowed into the splintered wood. As he cautiously inched his way through ever so delicately, he was relieved to see a few doctors and nurses awaiting him. That was until they slowly averted their gaze and looked to a patient who had their finger just below a small latch, keeping one particular door shut. It didn’t take him long to realize that they were all observers, watching from safety.

159.
 160. “Are you-- Are you going to let me go?” There was an uncomfortable silence before there was loud scraping and banging coming from the other side of the door, all paired with a cacophony of snarls and barks that were angry and eager. It was just like clock work, the moment hope was melted away from his gaze. The patient had unlocked the door.

161.
 162. Panicked by his now horribly hungry and aggressive dogs, the warden makes a quick dash to go back the way he came. Instead, he stares back at the razor blades that demanded the time and delicacy he clearly did not have. As he takes a trying step, the lights are turned off, unabling him from proceeding.
163. “LET ME OUT!!!” He cried between blood curdling screams as his dogs began to tear at the flesh. Out of what seemed like nowhere in the endless void of darkness, it was as if a voice had whispered so delicately into his ear.
164. “Never.”

165.
 166.
 167. Warden’s name may or may not have been named Simon Kaufman… Places or people named may or may not be of pure coincidence.
