Hey bro.  So check it out - I have been soliciting some trustworthy posters (after literally 6 months of daily using the site, I know who is smart/trustworthy/diligent, etc.) to perhaps do something a bit more constructive to profit from trends in crypto.

I sent them the email below recently and you seem like another chill dood who can contribute. Also, exeunt said I should invite you, so you’re in.  But anyway, Take a look at the below and let me know what you think when you have a chance.  If this doesn’t interest you at all then no worries, I just ask that you please not mention it on the board.

For what it’s worth so far we have a pretty decent general discussion on the slack channel and have not really gotten up to “assigning” people roles or anything (i.e. blp go do QTUM, longmo go do Neo, etc.) but your keeping on top of DNT developments is exactly the type of thing that would be useful for us to be able to collect and gather in one place if we were each assigned one coin or  some shit. I dunno. Let me know what you think.

In fact the latest development is a Belgian whale has been brought into the slack channel and now we’re all debating the extent to which we can trust him. It’s a total shitshow at the moment.

Gents - I apologize in advance for the length of this email.  But please read all of it and let me know your thoughts. The Problem
It seems to me the way to truly profit from the crypto market is to be apprised of market-moving information.  The entire market is ludicrously inefficient from an ECMH perspective.  Right now there is a $150B asset class trading on twitter pumps and rumors.  It would be like professional traders trading apple or amazon based on twitter speculation rather than on deep, on the ground knowledge of the companies’ products, supply chains, management competence, customer contracts, etc. of the stocks they were buying and selling.

Some Examples
There are obviously dozens of examples where being aware of market-moving information would have provided tremendous profits.  And it isn’t something like an earnings release publicly released to all investors at once that skyrockets/tanks price. It’s milestones and new info that only a few people are aware of which lets them know what to watch for and when to strike (i.e. when to deploy their capital strategically). Two examples:

·        I have had back channel discussions with some knowledgeable crypto folk and I ran an idea by them when I saw a thread on reddit and read the gold mine of information it laid out. ·        The news about plasma.io which broke on OMG’s reddit channel (blp pointed it out on xo; I bought a ton of it when I saw the news but then got spooked and sold for a .1 ETH loss. If I’d held, that ton of ETH I put in would have 2.5xed by now  … argh) - caused OMG to absolutely moon. I don’t have a link to the reddit thread (I remember people were saying “BUY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN THIS IS GOING TO GO UP 3X!! and they were right…) but this is Vitalik’s tweet about it - https://twitter.com/vitalikbuterin/status/895467347502182401  - it’s re plasma.io for which he wrote the white paper with a top guy from OMG and the way it integrates with OMG and ETH (I think)

The Idea
It’s pretty obvious that the way to truly profit (assuming no black swan events, more on that below) is to monitor, like a hawk, all of the communications related to specific cryptos/tokens/coins (I tend to use all three interchangeably).  This includes, primarily, in what I think is order of importance (I’m use BAT as an example for each one here):

·        The coin’s official slack - i.e. https://basicattentiontoken.rocket.chat/channel/general (BAT is atypical in that it uses rocketchat rather than Slack; I am subscribed to their rocket chat)
·        The coins reddit channel(s) - i.e. https://www.reddit.com/r/BATProject/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/BATtrader/
·        The blog of the coin’s website - i.e. https://basicattentiontoken.org/blog/
·        Any medium publications that the token or its backers/developers are publishing- i.e. https://medium.com/@AttentionToken /
·        The twitter accounts of any developers, leaders, VC backers, etc. of the token (but need to be careful to filter out the noise from trolls) - i.e. https://twitter.com/attentiontoken?lang=en / https://twitter.com/BrendanEich
·        The bitcointalk “announce” of the coin - i.e. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1947865.0 (or whichever bitcoin talk thread has the most detailed/substantive discussion of developments in the project)
·        A thorough understanding of the project’s “roadmap” and upcoming catalysts as well as updates thereto – i.e. https://medium.com/@AttentionToken/bat-roadmap-1-0-988ed947cf0d
·        A thorough understanding of the coin’s website (and white paper, if you are up for it) - i.e. https://basicattentiontoken.org/index/

I’m sure some of these may be more useful than others, that some will overlap and that perhaps there are other avenues I am overlooking that we might want to add but I wanted to give a sense of the type of comprehensive, hawk-like coverage we need to have of these coins to figure out which ones will moon and when to buy into them.

The Solution
Obviously, with so many coins on the market, this level of coverage is a task far too overwhelming for just one person.  But if we could just find a trustworthy group of individuals who had a genuine interest in this nonsense and were also smart, dependable, trustworthy, tech savvy, willing to work as a team for the common good, etc. … you see where I’m going with this?  My thinking is that if each person takes on one coin (or perhaps two depending on how much time they have available) and really becomes an expert on it (I’m already learning up on BAT, I know longmo is on dat OMG tip, etc.) then we could cover the entire universe of relevant, legit coins and know when catalysts are coming up.

The Day-to-Day
If there is interest in this project I will set up a slack channel and we can go from there. We can probably create separate channels for each token and/or just throw all discussion in general to start. Who knows, we’ll figure it out.  I think we can all maintain our anonymity through slack if so desired (although a couple of us on this email already know each others’ IRL identity fwiw).

The Targets
One last thing: I think we should make our primary focus only that subset of tokens that exeunt has recommended. These include: Civic (CVC), OmiseGo (OMG), TenX (PAY), Status (SNT), district0x (DNT), 0x (ZRX), Funfair (FUN), Mysterium (Myst).  We also need to have people who are absolutely on top of the latest drama/political developments with the major protocols in the crypto ecosystem. Remember what I said about black swans above?  This is where that comes in.  For now that primarily means monitoring BTC and ETH (and Tezos soon). But it also means being aware of legal/regulatory developments to some extent, particularly in Asia.

The targets don’t have to be limited to just the above; we can definitely add to this list (i.e. exeunt is not as bullish on BAT for instance and I definitely want to keep on top of the developments with both QTUM and Antshares/Neo) but these seem to be the clear blue chips that WILL go higher. It’s just a matter of timing their catalysts, which include things like milestones on their development roadmap and whatnot.
