45. Chev Chelios survives a fall from the sky, sort of. He's in an unknown location, sedated, while various Chinese are harvesting his organs. His heart is gone, in an ice chest; a temporary in its place. Chev escapes, knowing only the name of the guy with the ice chest. He calls Doc Miles, an unlicensed cardiologist, who tells him there's only an hour's life in the artificial heart: keep it charged. Chev needs to find his own heart and get to Doc for a transplant. He starts his time-limited pursuit of shadowy figures, the ice chest, and his heart aided by Eve, Rei, and Venus - a stripper, a prostitute, and a pal with Tourette's - constantly needing an electric charge to keep going.
46. Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
47. Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced the release date for the awesomely ridiculous follow up to Crank, Crank 2: High Voltage, starring Jason Statham and Amy Smart. The DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film will be released on September 8, 2009. There is definitely a niche for brainless action movies and both Crank movies fill that niche shamelessly. I know that may sound like a negative thing, but there is a place for these movies today; afterall, movies are supposed to be entertaining. Whoever said that everything put to film has to be artsy, political, preachy, social commentary... or hell, even have a plausible plot? I for one sometimes need to just go to a movie to see some cool fight scenes, big explosions, and mindless violence. Is this for everyone? Certainly not, but I would imagine the audience the Crank movies are geared towards are the only ones going to see them... and enjoying them thoroughly.

Picking up right where the original Crank left off, Chelios is now tracking down some pesky Chinese mobsters who have stolen his heart and replaced it with a battery-powered mechanical one that needs periodical jolts of electricity to keep on a-tickin' (in the truthful words of the tagline: "He was dead... but he got better"). Revisiting many of the same concepts and gimmicks of the original, Crank 2: High Voltage will surely not disappoint all the cult-fans. There is enough absurdity, laughs, nudity, and fast-paced logic defying action to keep even the pickiest of action film fanatics entertained.
48. I don't know what drug this murder was on. Crank 2 is so ridiculous, it becomes more so as the movie progresses, where by the end, you're so mind numbed by what you're witnessed, you're totally dumbfound, it makes the original look respectively good. Out of interest, it has me wanting to re watch the original. If only this sequel had to surface, and rob the first of it's dignity. It takes on moments later from where the first one finished, which Stratham (who I must admit can't act) taking that big fall is spared, in one of the most desperate and idiotic excuses for a sequel I've ever seen. Why couldn't we just let him fall and die, which would of been the writers prior intention. But later sequel temptation must of got the best of him. Stratham's old heart is replaced with an artificial heart, where he must keep cranking it, anyway he can, through battery voltage, or strenuous public sex with his hot girlfriend Eve. The violence is totally off the wall, some of it sheerly sick, one scene involving nipple slashing. One reason to see it, is due to it's late star, 80's heart throb, Haim, as a bouncer, looking much worse for ware. But given that, it's a great insane flick, real cheesy, with action aplus, but too is just so ludicrous which does walk a style in ludicrous respect. I mean that head, minus everything else, kept alive in that battery acid tank, while being attached to electrodes, was like the last straw. But look at this movie as just a time passing, 'leave your brain at the door flick'.
49. If you have a propensity for motion sickness you would be best served staying away. This movie is Tarantino on speed, and without focus and style. It is in-your-face and proud of it with no apologies.
50. Crank: High Voltage is an action-thriller written by film-makers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who also co-directed the film. It is a sequel to Crank (2006) (2006). Crank: High Voltage picks up immediately where the first one finishes, there is a three month gap, and then the film continues, Chev (Jason Statham) falls out of a helicopter. At the beginning of Crank: High Voltage, it shows Chev being removed from the scene by a snow shovel. He then wakes up in the hospital, after having his heart transplanted. Whatever it be, it's a MacGuffin, an object used to thrust forward a story but often never identified. The leaves the actual interpretation of the item in the film to the viewer. The way Chev Chelios describes the unknown object that's inside the box after he opens it suggests that it's something very disgusting, e.g., an illegal drug, somebody's body part or possibly something pornographic. During the first part of the credits, Doc Miles places Chev's heart back in (although we don't see what he does with Poon Dong) while Eve watches (due to the fire, Chev is covered in full-body bandages). At first, it looks like a failure, but after everyone leaves, Chev's eyes open, and his heart is heard beating. In addition, there are several bloopers shown after the credits begin. a5c7b9f00b
