  1. 12 flagstone steps
  2.
  3.
  4. When I was growing up, weekends were a difficult time. Not just for me - for all of us kids. I mean, when Dad would roll out of bed at crack of noon, sometimes he had this look in his eye. Well, let's just say at those times the house would get kinda quiet. We would just tiptoe around and basically try to stay out of sight. We all knew what when going to happen. We all knew what he was going to do.
  5.
  6. No getting around it, Dad was going to do what Dad was going to do. And what Dad was going to do was Landscaping.
  7.
  8. It would start with his straw hat, or maybe his work gloves. I mean, to this day of straw hat, a man in - a man in a straw hat, it hurts.
  9.
  10. And then he'd go into the garage. And he'd grab something. A shovel, a rake, maybe even a pickax-it didn't matter to us, we were terrified.
  11.
  12. We were so scared. We would just stay inside and play video games and watch Comedy Central and eat popcorn.
  13.
  14. You could see him outside raking or moving rock. We would just close the blinds, because it was too much to bear and that pretty much eliminated screen-glare.
  15.
  16. We're pretty sure that one time, or maybe a few times, Dad was out there with drip lines. I mean, Drip Lines. I don't even want to know what that was all about.
  17.
  18. We'd even meet the pizza delivery guy at the mailbox, rather than anyone see anything. We'd tip extra hoping he wouldn't notice the fountains or the walkways or the subtle lighting of the Japanese water garden.
  19.
  20. I mean, the man has issues. For sure issues with flagstone and mulch. Throw in an extra-high water bill, and, well, I think Dad's living on the edge.
