Super Happy to submit this run to a leaderboard. I figured it would never be on a leaderboard anywhere. However, I'm not sure why this romhack is on the ALTTP randomizer leaderboard, as it is an entirely separate rom and should be treated as such. It's also a static rom and not randomized.

To be 100% clear in case someone misunderstands me or tries to intentionally misunderstand me, I am happy this category has a home somewhere on SRC. I think the alternative is no leaderboard and that is objectively a worse option. I also think there are obvious ties to this rom and the randomizer rom. If anything this romhack (and a few others) was the precursor to the randomizer rom that every loves. In that sense it should be on this leaderboard.

With this being said it doesn't make much sense to me why it is on this leaderboard specifically. It is not a randomizer. It doesn't in any way use the randomizer engine. It is completely different from every other category on this leaderboard. The game mechanics are in fact changed from the original to force certain puzzles and fights. The official name of the rom is also not Kaizomizer. It is ALTTP: Kaizo Edition. There is also the complication that if someone wanted to speedrun a fixed seed of a 'kaizo' randomizer build, you would end up with two conceptually completely different runs that effectively have the same name.

Every other ALTTP romhack has it's own page. This game being a specific ALTTP romhack, in my opinion should also have it's own page and not be on the ALTTP randomizer page.

However, I think it is to my fortune that this romhack made it's way to the RANDO page. For one, much more people are likely to click on this category and see the run, or even run it themselves. The alttpr fixed seed speedruns are popular enough I am sure some of that will spill over to this romhack as well. Secondly, I very much like the alttpr ruleset for NMG. I think highlighting that ruleset in any way is always a good thing. I also think that in general for ALTTP romhacks, we should be following (not exactly but mostly) the alttpr ruleset and NOT the ALTTP NMG ruleset which has a number of questionable rules and no sense of direction or focus.

Lastly, I am sure some people will eventually find this comment, see that I am criticizing the leaderboards, and in return use it to criticize or mock me. Unfortunately this is usually the case. I am very open to criticism and open discussion. Again, unfortunately most of the criticism is totally behind my back or done in private. It is not very helpful to me or anyone for that matter. If anyone sees this type of behavior, please just disregard it.
