  1. The instructor takes WAY too long to grade assignments. For context, two presentations were required during the course of this class. The second presentation was due on March 18. We did not get any grade on presentation 1 until March 24. Not only did this grade come AFTER the second presentation was due, but the only feedback that the students received was their grade. There was no explanation of the strengths and weaknesses of the students' work so that they could improve on future assignments. Feedback (or lack, thereof) like this is completely useless to student learning. It often makes the student feel that this is both a complete waste of time and money for taking the class.

  3. Too, this instructor didn’t seem to put forth any instructional material of his own to enhance learning and simply tasked the student with “read the textbook”. The only exceptions to this were the two presentations and term paper that needed to be done. “Assignments” listed on Blackboard were primarily questions gathered from the textbook. It is understood that this is a graduate level class and that a student should be able to gather information alone. However, it is the student’s understanding that the instructor will provide more guidance, clarification, and detail to further the student’s expertise in the area of instruction.

  5. Multiple classes have been taken with this instructor and this is a recurring theme with these same delays in responding. Hopefully, this will change so that future students will get more benefit from the class and have a higher quality education from the institution.

  7. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... I implore you....address these weaknesses in instruction for your students. If nothing else, assignments should be graded quicker and with PROPER feedback given and not just a numerical grade. This is never an issue with other instructors at ECU, so there should be no reason that this instructor can't give feedback to the student in a timely manner.
