AND HERE ARE TODAY’S HEADLINES: A lookback at last month’s federal election campaign. Tourism is on the rise in Montréal. And how to make the most out of your pumpkins after Halloween!

  3. Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau, returned to power with a minority government following the results of last month’s federal election. But days before the votes were cast, uncertainty still lingered across Canada including at the Liberals’ final campaign rally in Montréal. Our reporter, Holly Cabrera, has more on that story.

  9. Thank you Meriem! The Papineau riding has been a Liberal stronghold for most of its history. It still remains red after the election, but an N-D-P candidate took on the challenge to campaign against Justin Trudeau in one of the most diverse electorates in Canada. Ismael Koné has more on the story.

  11. TAG: Despite a hard fought campaign, Christine Paré ended in second place. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was re-elected with just over FIFTY PER CENT OF THE VOTES CAST IN THE RIDING, While the N-D-P candidate received just short of TWENTY PER CENT of the votes in the riding.

  13. Fellow Liberal and Trudeau cabinet member Mélanie Joly was also re-elected, in her riding of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Running against André Parizeau from the Bloc Québécois she won with over FIFTY per cent of the votes cast. But what were the policies that resonated with the voters who led her to victory? Our reporter Siya Manova has more on the story.

  17. While the major parties battled for votes and press coverage on the national stage, one smaller party also tried to generate some noise. Our reporter Oseremen Irete has the story.

  19. New data from Tourisme Montreal show that the city experienced a large increase in the amount of tourists this past summer.
  20. The rise in international visitors is allegedly thanks to increased international flights to Montreal, as well as some NEW tourist attractions around the city. Our reporter Jessica Barile has more.

  22. TAG: The city has promised to increase advertising internationally and to further improve attractions, as tourism continues to play an important role in the city’s economy.

  27. Thank you Ismaël! A pilot project launched in the Verdun borough has removed over FOUR HUNDRED parking spots and replaced them with a dedicated bike lane. But the Verdun street project has received mixed reactions. Lucie Laumonier has the story.
  28. TAG: Later this month, a public meeting will be held by the borough to allow all parties to voice their opinions on the controversial project.
