  1. First thing ; Take a look at your team comp. Ashe is your main source of damage, and should be chunking the enemy tanks and DPS down. This means that you as a genji have the role of taking down the enemy supports / harassing the enemy team with your shurikens. The only source of healing you can receive is from your zen; a harmony orb. This means that you should try and stay in range of your zen and avoid going too deep into the enemy team as you'll find yourself without the right support from your team. You don't have an off tank to sync your play with (e.g blade grav), but your roadhog will likely find some good hooks, and if he doesn't quite finish a target off you should be straight in with your dash to finish.
  2.
  3. 0:50 - This is a good starting position to scout the enemy team, but once you see that they haven't shown themselves after 5 seconds or so is an indication that they're not going left, you should immediately adjust your view to the right side so you can get some early info and spam for ult charge.
  4.
  5. After 15 seconds you should be pressing tab and seeing which healers they have. They're running Moira Lucio which is something that's quite hard for you to deal with, and you don't have anyone to engage with you, so genji is not a great pick here. You should be looking to farm a fast blade off of the enemy tanks and harass the enemy tracer, stopping her from targeting your zen.
  6.
  7. 0:53 - Your accuracy is definitely an issue on genji, we missed out on around 10% ult charge from that. Go into custom game bot match and practice shuriken accuracy and stringing them together consecutively
  8.
  9. 1:03 - At this stage you're kind of afk whilst their winston is engaging. Zarya has used her friendly bubble so she can't save her teammates, easiest option for you is to help your team burst down the winston and then go looking for tracer. Even when your teammates go to kill the zarya you're sitting in the window instead of helping out.
  10.
  11. 1:22 - You know tracer is on the point probably harassing your supports, what does this mean? This means your team has gone to help zen, which means they aren't on the frontline to help you or save you, which means that going to kill this moira is an awful play. Poking her is acceptable, granted you save dash to escape. But trying to go all in on a moira is never a good idea, especially when she's near her team. This is the kind of play keeping you in bronze as you die and leave your team in a 5v6
  12.
  13. 2:00 that's a good kill on the tracer coming back but then we once again try to duel the moira, that deflect attempt was very questionable. It's safer for you to just escape from the moira to your team, the reason why is because even if you deflect the damage orb she can still kill you and has her fade to escape. You don't win that matchup most of the time, don't take it.
  14.
  15. 2:45 I don't like this approach to the fight, as genji it's very easy for their team to pressure you so you should be spamming shurikens from high ground. The reason for this is : If you contest you will likely die anyway before your teammates get back, If you stay alive until your team gets back you have a better chance to take the point back and you have a better time farming your ultimate spamming from high ground as mei cant freeze you as easily.
  16.
  17. 3:24 good kill onto the lucio, now you should be taking high ground because it gives you a better view of the enemy team and allows you to track the enemy tracers movements. We're also coming up to blade and you have a mercy to damage boost you. The Slash dash dragonblade combo with mercy ult can kill any 200hp hero in the game so you should be looking to pull that off.
  18.
  19. 3:40 Once again your team is in a fight and you're kind of afking in the background, as we said you can't kill their healers easily which is why I would say genji is an awful pick in this situation. Your mercy is down, so I would encourage your team to pull back onto point, as you have the faster respawns and win the long, drawn out fight.
  20.
  21. 3:45 Preemptively dashing in like this needs to stop, and is one of the main things keeping you in bronze. Trading dash for recall is absolutely not worth it, tracer has so much more mobility than you and you are left with no escape. And because of that, you can't escape the blizzard and end up dying without having the opportunity to use blade. Are you starting to see the pattern with your dashes?
  22.
  23. With over 4 minutes of the match elapsing, we should be expecting a lucio beat. If you're confident enough with your mechanics, you could get a damage boosted blade and kill him AS he's trying to drop the beat. If not, I'd suggest you communicate with your team to try and force his beat out
  24.
  25. Fortunately for you, their team uses both grav and beat even though they have the advantage, but because of your earlier dash mistake you are now staggering onto the point, not able to have a full on fight with your team by your side, and your mercy is dead so you can't get a damage boosted blade.
  26.
  27. 4:13 Good idea to go for blade here, but you seem to be missing the point of dashing up. Dashing up sacrifices your safety as it's easier to hit you in plain sight, in exchange for a good view on the enemy team. However, you didn't look down at the enemy straight away and so miss out crucial information on where they are. You also too a little too long lining up the dash and wasted vital seconds whilst your team was still alive contesting the point. More rapid decisions have a better chance of results, you need to be constantly thinking and executing. Our blade targets should be their supports, you can force out moiras fade without dash and then dash onto her, take her out and leave the enemy without a main healer. That's the best possible trade you could take in this situation.
  28.
  29. 4:16 like I said before, your dashes are way too preemptive and do not achieve results because you left the moira with an easy way to escape, and now you can't catch up to her.
  30.
  31. From this I can take away 3 major points :
  32. You need to work on your dash usage ; Dashes should not be used early or preemptively. Dash to confirm a kill (as in when they're low enough for you to dash melee them and get the kill) or to engage a kill you're 100% sure you're going to get. Dashes can also be used to gain vision before a blade and for escaping an awful matchup.
  33. Think more about how you're using blade, especially how you use it to confirm kills. Remember that your blade resets your dash, so you can also use dash to engage and blade to refresh
  34. Practice your shuriken mechanics and stringing together shots to build ult charge. The faster you build blade the more time you have before lucio builds beat
  35.
  36. General advice :
  37. Learn each one of genji's matchups, you can ask coaches here, streamers or look at karQ's 1 tip vs every hero for genji on youtube
  38. Grind your genji mechanics in deathmatch
  39. Identify what you should be aiming to do in each fight (relative to your matchups)
  40. Look at your own team comp - it will show what you're capable of in each fight
