  1. Principles are a funny thing. Theyre what we live by, and not having any... Who are you then as a person?
  2.
  3. What is a principle?
  4. Before I explain in full what I mean with the previous statement, just what is a principle? In my eyes, a principle is a statement you're willing to live by and die for. In general, pinciples are very simple, such as "Don't be a homophobe" or "As long as you do your best, that is all that matters".
  5.
  6. So why am I suddenly talking about principles?
  7. Because of a very simple fact: At this moment, I feel like several base principles that I think most people have are being breached by letting Hydraxis stay in SSS.(edited)
  8. To wit: Do you remember why Hydraxis was banned in the first place? No, I don't ask WHO banned him, I'm asking WHY. Don't entirely recall? It was because he mailed shit, as in actual physical shit, to Dereks house. To me, that action violates several base principles, and by banning Hydraxis at that point, the staff team gave me the belief that they too wouldn't agree with violating said principles. The principles I feel specifically are being breached when he did that were:
  9. - "Don't doxx people"
  10. - "What happens online, stays online"
  11. - "Don't violate someone's privacy"
  12. There are a couple more, but these are the big ones. If you break one of these, then in my eyes, you can't be easily forgiven, a simple sorry won't cut it so to say.
  13. And for a period of time, I saw that these principles were being applied. When an old Hydraxis alt popped up in SSS and was exposed, he was banned, his temporary unban was restricted solely to the Minecraft chat to let him read that, and so on and on.
  14. Last night (27/07/18), astronautlevel transferred ownership of SSS to HM892. I don't blame astronautlevel for getting out before SSS will inevitably completely melt down. Yes I know that goes against my "joking aside I'm sure you'll do a fine job" comment I made at the time, but if your second visible action as server owner is to unban the aforementioned person, then I can't help but draw the conclusion that you are a-okay with all of the previous and the events that led up to them. I've never once gotten the idea that Hydraxis changed as a person and that such a thing won't happen again. Therefore, by unbanning him, I feel like the current moderation team supports, in no particular order: doxxing, harassment, collecting underage nudes, raiding servers and emotional manipulation. While you're at it, might as well unban Sal won't you? After all, you're okay with Hydraxis, and she pretty much has the same complete lack of standards and basic human decency.
  15.
  16. When I questioned HM892 at the time wether he was joking, I got as a response something to the extent of "No, many more people are okay with this than you think". While I didn't press him on who, I would like to say one thing, as I know HM892 values democracy at it's core for making moderation decisions: sometimes, a democracy doesn't work. Sometimes you need to stick to your principles and say "fuck no", regardless of consensus. Not often, but when it involves breaching the base grounds of human decency, then it's certainly justified.
  17.
  18. And to those that are "okay" with Hydraxis coming back: if you weren't fully aware of why he was banned, I don't blame you, if you were, I apply the same breach of standards I'm applying to the mod team to you.(edited)
