An objective observer
Unlike me, unlike you.

Their mindsets begets
Simple thought, simple love,
But isn't that best?
Shouldn't this fit like a glove?

Even their eyes don't see what we see
They knows that we're different, all very strange,
But I don't think they know
How weird we'd all be

If everything was simple.

Even her eyes don't see what I see
She knows that we're different, all very tame,
But I don't think she knows
How weird we'd all be

If anything were simple.

The way that I live
Full of duty, time I gave,
I try to be exciting
But I struggle to meet her gaze

Her eyes say so much to me
"Why do you spend so much time
doing these things, so un-fun,
when all the world is waiting
to run, climb and play"

"Why is that lady so fat?
Whats wrong with her?"
"SSSHH! Don't say that,
she might hear you, shes close."

Inhibitions extended
To the tip of my tongue
I hardly break rules
That I know I'm among

But a child won't see
Those walls of repression;
Only the world that they know
they must go express in.

Daily, I attempt to dose my adulthood
With a child in laughter
Or cartwheels and lemonade,
But its only a bandaid

For a deeper disease.
