彡PERSONALITY::
   ⇉ cheerful, to the point of being annoying, almost unbearably childlike. she's known for her temper tantrums and immature whining, that she always got away with alive, but in the afterlife, she can't exactly do that.
   ⇉ despite not looking like it, she's emotionally manipulative and sneaky, a trait you get from being the only child in a family that always kept tabs on where their princess was and what she was doing.
   ⇉ she doesn't know what she wants; she's indecisive and can't make a full decision without consulting someone for their approval. she's extremely codependent in this way, because she's lived her life on earth begging for everyone's love.
   ⇉ her moods are like a pendulum, always swinging and changing with the times. being with her can be both pleasant or unbearable. after her death, she has grown more anxiety-ridden and as a result, conversation with her about sensitive topics is like walking on thin ice that could either cause a panic attack or a temper tantrum. the most obvious trigger for it is anger. her codependency coupled with her accident, it's expected she can't handle bouts of rage.
   ⇉ though she is sensitive and bound to burst into tears with any given moment, she is also known to be some sort of happy pill.
   ⇉ she either feels nothing or everything. that's why, on her more grey days, she overcompensates by being more bouncy than she already is, and on days where she feels everything like it's going to spill over, she takes to being more reserved in her own way so she can avoid conflict.
   ⇉ lethargic and irresponsible, the aftereffect of her family cleaning up after her mistakes and her friends spoiling her. she doesn't do a lot, and has a way with words that make people want to do the tasks for her.
   ⇉ unfortunately, said skill was only applicable on earth. now, no one will fall for her schemes (well, maybe the kinder ones).
   ⇉ clingy and cuddly, always up for a challenge. will not respect your personal space (she's the soft spot of most of the slots, so she gets away with it mostly).
   ⇉ despite her usual jolly disposition, she has a hidden dark side, and it includes inward sadism that comes out when other people suffer. she doesn't like violence, don't get her wrong, but she would probably laugh at someone getting socially exiled and would ostracize other people if it meant making herself feel better about her own insecurity (or, maybe, it's her relief that someone else is suffering, not her).
   ⇉ she likes making fun of herself in the form of self-deprecating jokes about her incompetence, and when people laugh, it always makes her feel worse, but she's always been a good actress.
彡BACKGROUND::
   ⇉ she's upper class, which makes her one huge brat. her family only want the best for their only child and it doesn't help that she's always been a troublemaker, stubborn and unwilling to admit to her wrongs. she's sheltered and bored, since her parents were not only spoiling her, but also overprotective. mattie still doesn't know how to take a taxi by herself because she's always had a driver and her mother even holds her hand across the street.
   ⇉ the household followed strict rules and mattie adhered to every single one of them. the trophy cabinets were filled with her parents' awards from back in the day, and now, hers were also being put in there. she couldn't speak when she wasn't spoken to. it was maybe a touch too strict, but it's always been what it was.
   ⇉ she loved her grandparents, who raised her when she was a child when her parents were too busy with their respective careers, but there was never time to visit them before her death, and that's one of her biggest regrets.
   ⇉ she'd come out as bisexual when she was fifteen, and her parents, despite being intolerant pieces of shit sometimes, accepted her because she was their daughter and they would love her no matter what.
   ⇉ despite her parents loving her unconditionally, they never really loved each other, and will fall apart soon after their daughter's death. even when she was alive, her parents, though they did not argue, were obvious in their lack of affection for each other. her father cheated a lot, this she knew, because she sees the texts on his phone from random women. she knows, of course. but she has always been selfish and she'd shut up about it. appearances were everything in this house.
   ⇉ she knows her mother knows. why else would she be the raging alcoholic that she is? why else would she avoid her father's eyes at the dining table? why else, if not for the blantant truth that their family is not as picture perfect as mattie thought it was?
   ⇉ her codependency will grow increasingly obvious, as she can't even do the most simple and mundane things by herself. however, what she lacks in common sense, she makes up for in talent and creativity.
   ⇉ she participated in a lot of extracurricular activities, she was basically the jewel of the drama club and debate team. when she was alive, she only exerted the minimum effort, getting by with natural talent in the performing arts, and it shows in how unconcerned she usually is with tasks or missions.
   ⇉ her friends were great (lee jeonghee the greatest), but they were emotionally abusive. they criticized her lack of skills on mundane things in a hurtful manner and made fun of her lack of common sense. lee jeonghee was the most abusive; telling her she was good for nothing and useless without someone helping her. she believed jeonghee, though, even though she shouldn't, she was supposed to be smarter than that, but she's always trusted jeonghee more than she should have.
   ⇉ she wasn't a queen bee, but she was popular enough to know the rules of the highschool food chain. she avoids conflict to avoid her own social demise, and keeps to herself to keep her friends. she knows how it works.
   ⇉ she was enrolled to a preppy university full of rich kids for her tertiary education and while she expected more maturity, it wasn't much different from her highschool experience. she's grown accustomed to keeping her mouth shut and zipped; she's begun to accept that maybe this is how she's going to live. lee jeonghee was her only friend in university.
   ⇉ despite the overbearing qualities in both her parents and her friends (who smother her because again, her childlike qualities make them want to 'protect' her), she knows emotionally what people want or expect from her, and that's how she knows where to hit people where it hurts.
    ⇉ the fact above is why her relationships never lasted. not only is she incredibly picky, she knows what people want from her and it usually turns her off right away. she's the type of person who dates for marriage; it's why she rejected a lot of people she didn't think were worthy during her time on earth.
   ⇉ the people she'd liked, however, never liked her back, jeonghee being the main example, but there had been people before her.

彡CAUSE OF DEATH::
   ⇉ she had an argument with her friend (lee jeonghee herself) during the car ride to the cinema where they were meeting their other peers for matilda's birthday, the first car ride wherein matilda was allowed in a car that wasn't the family vehicle. the argument was mostly matilda confessing her feelings and jeonghee yelling because apparently, it was wrong to feel this way about the same sex. blinded by anger, jeonghee caused a car crash. matilda was braindead for a few weeks due to the head trauma suffered (however, jeonghee came out of it relatively unharmed) kept alive by only a machine, until her parents decided to end her suffering and pull the plug.
彡FEARS::
⇉ she gets incredibly anxious in the face of angry people, because it reminds her of the accident.
⇉ moving vehicles. she gets carsick because she's used to being driven around by her father and not used to other drivers' speed, etc; and the last time she was in a car that wasn't her parents', she died, so.
⇉ getting overpowered; she had felt small during the whole argument with jeonghee and the incident caused her death.
⇉ getting shunned or disliked, mostly because she can't handle when she's being the one being ostracized instead of being the one doing the ostracizing

⇉ having no instructions and having to wing it. she hates that most of all because that's when her fear of getting things wrong shines through.
