  1. **Lectures:**
  2. Lectures are scheduled events where a user teaches the room about a topic. Here is the protocol:
  3.
  4. 1. Any user in good standing may PM a staff member to give a lecture.
  5.
  6. 2. The user should have enough information to cover about 15 minutes. There are no set rules for what is necessary to show to get a lecture approved, but useful things to have ready are an outline, references, and pictures.
  7.
  8. 3. Once the staff member has approved the lecture, he/she will post the topic and source material in the Room Events channel for another staff member to approve. Once another staff member has approved, the lecture may be scheduled.
  9.
  10. 4. The hosting staff member will arrange a time for the lecture with the lecturer that is convenient for them both. The staff member will moderate the lecture. A Room Owner can be summoned to add this lecture into /roomevents.
  11.
  12. 5. If all goes well, the lecturer will be awarded a decent handful of quills for their work at the end.
  13.
  14. * Staff members who wish to hold a lecture do not need to obtain approval from another staff member, but are encouraged to ask about any questionable topics in Room Events. They can skip step 3 in this process.
