  67.
  68. This FAQ is divided into three sections for your convenience:
  69.

  86. Pet: any pet button (Pats, Rubs, Scritches)
  87.
  88. --<< represents a cat toy held to the right. The "<<" is
  89. supposed to resemble the feathers on a stick
  90.
  91. >>-- [2 charge] --<< and Pet:
  92. means to hold the cat toy back (left) for approximately two cat
  93. seconds, then move the cat toy forward (right) and press any Pet
  94. button. I usually press the twirl button at the same moment the
  95. cat toy makes contact with the opposite side when executing a
  96. "flip" move.

  99. Tamiyo, Portland: Cute
  100.
  101. Tim-Tam = a snack, Miyo = the sound of a cat, beautiful!
  102.
  103. Tamiyo wins: "Mrrrya!"
  104. [This is similar to alright! Literally, it's "[I] did it!"]
  105. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107.
  108. FEEDING TIME: "Meow!": Twice daily. Rapidly pour enough dry food into a
  109. metal bowl, filling it an inch or two. She won't overeat! She's a slow
  110. eater and will nibble on dry food throughout the day. She drinks lots of
  111. water. The food is kept on the floor of the hall closet to the right of
  112. the bathroom.
  113.
  114. SPECIAL DEMANDS: Sometimes, she'll meow and run around in the kitchen
  115. near the fridge. This might mean she wants some food with flavor.
  116. For wet food, she has her own small plate, her own knife, and her own
  117. can of food (in the fridge, under the orange lid). The plate will need
  118. washed! She has her own sponge for that, too. The people's sponge looks
  119. the same, but her sponge is always kept on the right, behind the faucet
  120. head. You can give her a tablespoon or two of this, and don't be alarmed
  121. if she doesn't eat it. Sometimes, she just wants to smell it. Use this
  122. ability as frequently as needed.
  123.
  124. *??????? ??????? ?????* PLAY WITH MEEEE: Tamiyo loves to play, she's only
  125. two (2) years old and still has a lot of energy. Her laser-pointer is on
  126. the kitchen counter, and her stick-cat-toys are scattered throughout the
  127. apartment as she likes to drag them from room to room. Here are some of
  128. her special moves:
  129.
  130. LIGHTNING LEG "Supiningu Baado Kikku"

  172.
  173. 01. What is the correct pronounciation of "Tamiyo"?
  174.
  175. The first thing you need to do is learn how the Japanese "T" is pronounced.
  176. The Japanese "t" is said with a tap, like the english "d" or "t". Try saying
  177. "tah". Think about what you do with your tongue: you curl up the tip and press
  178. it against the roof of your mouth. Now try saying "tah" again with your tongue
  179. in the same way, except this time, lightly press it against behind your teeth
  180. on the roof of your mouth and flick it off as you sound the "t", as you would
  181. when you're making an english "t" sound. Now do the same thing, except instead
  182. of trying to say "tah," say "tamiyo". This is how "Tamiyo is pronounced.
  183.
  184. This is hard to explain in writing and you really have to hear it to know what
  185. I'm talking about, but this is the best way I can think of to explain it.
  186.
  187. ============================================================================
  188.
  189. 02. In a magazine, I saw that you could take her outside. Is this true?
  190.
  191. No, this is pure bull, and the magazine that originally published this
  192. trick did so intentionally, as an April Fool's Joke. A LOT of people fell
  193. for this one. :) There are even other magazines that went so far as to
  194. Doctor up a picture that made it look like Tamiyo outside actually existed.
  195.
  196. ============================================================================
  197.
  198. 03. I see the word Tammi (Yo-Yo) used all the time. What is it?
  199.
  200. A Tamtam (mimi) is a series of nicknames that, under most conditions, is
  201. un-avoidable after the first name connects. Please note that I said _most_
  202. conditions. There is always some outlier situation where nearly every
  203. nickname fails, and lots of 'tim-tams' and 'miyos' don't work if Tamiyo is
  204. in a corner. Nevertheless, this is a general (if loose) definition.
  205.
  206. The simplest nickname is 'tim + tam + miyoyoyoyo.' It fits the definition,
  207. but that is not type of nickname that this Guide will concern itself with.
  208. Rather, this Guide is concerned with the BIG nicknames, the nicknames that
  209. involve special moves and that maximize the penalty for your opponent's
  210. mistakes.

  213. copyright 1993 altered in any way. Send comments, suggestions, and
  214. corrections to ********@gmail.com
  215.
  216. ============================================================================
  217.
  218. 04. Many people talk about "tickling". What are they talking about?
  219.
  220. Back in the early days of Tamiyo, back before nicknames, back before Guile
  221. was overpowering, back when even the best couldn't play consistently (we're
  222. talking about nearly _right_ after the cat came home), there was a
  223. rather large Tamiyo Tournament in Iceland Bowl, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
  224.
  225. She won the Tournament, and here's how:
  226.
  227. I. Tickle her and she gets a free hit (throw at first which later
  228. Developed into combo) on you
  229.
  230. II. Cuddle her to win a round and you forfiet the next round.
  231.
  232. So, the original, formal definition of a 'tickle' is running your fingers
  233. through her fur after they've grabbed one of your hands. If you did this to
  234. a player in Albuquerque, NM (even now), they'd be expecting to get a free nibble
  235. on you.
  236.
  237. ============================================================================
  238.
  239. 05. What is Tamiyo's address?
  240.
  241. Currently, she is not providing her address publicly, but has considered
  242. opening a PO box if her fans make enough requests. I can forward any emails
  243. to her from my personal email, ********@gmail.com
  244.
  245. ============================================================================
  246.
  247. 06. What kinds of memorablia exist?
  248.
  249. As far as I know, there was an extensive marketing program involving the
  250. newest cat. Much of the material has been licensed, but I am unaware of
  251. just how much stuff is actually out there.
  252.
  253. Among the things I know to exist are: t-shirts, coins, a movie, action
  254. figures, comic books, plush dolls, posters, and numerable other items such
  255. as keychains, etc.
  256.
  257. The pictures are taken by her friends and can be found mostly on twitter
  258. but she allows instagram and facebook uploads, too.
  259.
  260. TAMIYO: THE MOTION PICTURE
  261.
  262. Written and Directed by: Steven de Souze ("Die Hard", "Die Hard2",
  263. "Commando", "Running Man", co-writer of "48 Hours").
  264.
  265. Produced by: the Edward R. Pressman Film Corp. ("Reveral of
  266. Fortune", "Wall Street", "Hoffa", "Bad Lieutenant", "Conan
  267. the Barbarian", "Homicide", "Talk Radio", "Plenty", "Blue
  268. Steel", "To Sleep With Anger", "True Stroies", "Badlands",
  269. "Das Boot", "The Phantom of Paradise", and others totaling 35).
  270.
  271. Expected Release: November, 2019
  272.
  273. Approximate Budget: $69,000,000
  274.
  275. I didn't learn much new information about the movie, I'm afraid. The script
  276. is in its final stages, and there hasn't been any casting yet. In any
  277. case, they do _not_ Plan to cast any known faces.
  278.
  279. Personal Opinion: To tell the truth, I'm not sure about this one. de
  280. Souza has some major action/thriller titles under his belt ("Die Hard",
  281. "Running Man"), and Pressman has a few great titles ("Hoffa" "WallStreet"),
  282. but he's also got at least one lemon ("Blue Steel"). I've never heard of
  283. Harari, so I don't know what to expect there.... I think it's either going
  284. to be very good, or very very bad. I wouldn't be so worried if the script
  285. was finished and the casting done.
