 background : hyunjin was born into a wealthy family as her parents own gukil hospital (fictional). at the age of five, she moved to california with her aunty's family and her older brother for study purposes. hyunjin kept close touch with her parents and visited them every summer break. she returned to south korea less than six years later. hyunjin went to an international school for her first year back before transferring to a private school since her parents wanted her to adapt better to the korean lifestyle. hyunjin joined her uncle's taekwondo academy when she was thirteen. she quit taekwondo one year after achieving a third degree black belt to join a local dance studio. she entered hanlim multi art school as a major in practical dance. in the same year she was casted as a trainee after joining a public audition. she doesn't have much vocal ability range and because of that she was given rap lessons. hyunjin begin to enjoy rapping more than dancing which is why she changed her postion to a rapper. despite being an idol hyunjin attends ehwa university as a law student.

trainee years : 3 years + 5 months
trainee life : hyunjin didn't have much friends during her trainee years. she built walls from other students at her school since she was afraid that they'd only like her because she was a trainee. many trainees were intimidated by her because she always had a blank facial expression. she was recognised among others for her unique visuals and skills. she didn't live in the trainee dorms since she felt uncomfortable but instead she stayed with her parents. unlike majority of other trainees, she didn't go through a slump but there were times were many times she felt gloomy. those times were mainly caused due to the pressure of balancing her trainee life as well as her school work. at one point hyunjin found jealousy getting the best of her. she cried after she saw a trainee who was very beautiful, she lost all of her confidence.
