- >As you stand on the balcony that Celestia led you to, your mind wanders back to what she said.
- >She said that the voice at the gate made the right choice.
- >Could you really find happiness in this world?
- >You hope so.
- >As you reflect on your conversation, you hear a knock on the door.
- “Uh, come in.”
- >A beautifully majestic p0ny opens the door, almost as tall as Celestia, but her coat a midnight blue.
- >Just the same as Celestia, her mane and tail drifted freely in the air, weightless.
- >Except hers glowed a royal blue, with shining white stars and constellations floating within it.
- >She looks at you, and a shocked expression came upon her, almost fearful.
- >She took a step back, not sure if she wanted to continue in through the door or run for her life.
- “Am I really that hideous?”
- >She composes herself, shaking the look of shock from her face.
- >She continues in through the door, closing it gently behind her with her magic.
- >”No, I apologize… I just… I’ve never seen anything like you before.”
- “I'm sorry if I scared you.”
- >She walks up to you out on the balcony, standing next to you.
- >”You do not need to apologize. Celestia said your name was Anonymous?”
- “You can call me Anon if you want, but yes. Did she tell you anything else about me?”
- >”Not much else, she said that you were from a different world.”
- “Yeah, this has been a pretty confusing day to say the least.”
- >”I understand. I’ve gone through something similar before, though not quite as extreme as you.”>You look over at her, and she has a small smile on her face.
- >You just stand there next to her, looking at that beautiful night sky.
- “So you’re the princess of the night?”
- >She watched you with interest and curiosity as you stare, fixated on her sky.
- >”I am. Although p0nies don’t usually appreciate it, I understand that night is just as important as the day. It brings harmony to the land.”
- >Luna looks off into the night sky, a subtle look of longing hints her face
- “Huh. I’ve always been more a night-guy myself.”
- >Her ears perked up, breaking her gaze from the sky, looking back over to you.
- >”Really?”
- “Yeah, I love the night! How couldn’t I? I used to stay up late, going outside just to look up at the stars.”
- “I would just lay there, admiring them. Thinking about life, thinking about… everything. I always thought the night where I’m from was nice, but this….”
- >You turn to look at her,
- “This is beautiful. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s breathtaking.”
- >Although the sun was gone, you can still make out a blush coming across Luna’s face.
- >”I can’t remember the last time somep0ny’s appreciated the night as much as you do. It makes me happy.”
- >Happy.
- >That was such a strange word for you.
- >Something you seemed good at giving, but never quite being able to find it yourself.
- >You were always able to put on a mask even in your worst points of depression.
- >People always thought you to be to such a cheerful guy.
- >Carefree, funny, lighthearted.
- >But under all that, there was hurt.
- >You can’t blame anyone for not knowing, you were the one who closed that side of you off to the world.
- >But behind closed doors, you were a different person.
- >”Anon?”
- >You broke free from the trance you’d been in.
- >You’d been staring blankly, lost in your own mind.
- >This is something that happened frequently in your “past” life.
- “Sorry… I was just lost in thought.”
- >”Oh. I was just wondering if you wanted me to show you to your room? You look quite exhausted.”
- >That sounded amazing. You hadn’t slept since you woke up in that hospital.
- “Yes, please.”
- >You followed Luna through the vast halls inside this maze of a castle
- >You finally arrived at a room, Luna magic’d the door open for you.
- >”Here you are, you have this room all to yourself.”
- >You peer inside, finding a luxurious living arrangement.
- >A huge bed, fancy stuff hanging on the walls, it was great.
- “Wow, Princess Luna is this more than I could ever ask for. Thank you so much. For everything.”
- >She smiles at you,
- >”I look forward to hearing from you again, Anonymous. Until then, goodnight. And sweet dreams.”
