Scrolling through the first 100 hits I'd say that roughly 3/4 of usages were conjunctive.
That it's similar to 反面 in that regard (i.e. frequency of noun usage), but not quite as strong, has already been noted by Brian below.

「反面」は、反対の方面、他の面から見た場合の意で、「反面から言えば」 「彼は正義感が強い反面、人情にうとい」 「反面教師」などと使われる。
「半面」は、ものを二つの面に分けた場合の一方の面とか別の面、あるいは顔の半分の意で、「テニスコートの半面」 「半面だけ月光が照らす」 「半面像」などと使われる。

一②・二 (Here, sense two and one)は、新聞などでは「半面」が多いが、一般(いっぱん)には「反面」がより多い。
