  1. I've seen it mentioned multiple times that Kommo-O is bad because of its movepool. It's not, Kommo-O's movepool gives it enough options to do what it wants to be primarily doing.
  2.
  3. As a Dragon Dance user (which it's outclassed as, but I'll get to later), Kommo-O has a powerful STAB combination in Dragon/Fighting, allowing it to nail anything that isn't a fairy for neutral damage, and even for faires it can learn Poison Jab. Many will point to it only getting two physical fighting moves as an issue, which it is to an extent in that neither of them has particularly high power, but Dragon Dance is a thing, so smart applications will fix those issues.
  4.
  5. As a Special attacker, Kommo-O is actually a unique and viable option, and most good points about a Dragon Dance set also apply to a special attacking set, with a more poweful, albeit less reliable special attacking STABs in Clanging Scales and Focus Blast, plus Flash Cannon which is arguably a better option for nailing fairies than Poison Jab.
  6.
  7. Worth mentioning is that Kommo-O also gets Autotomize, which allows it to use not worry about its speed as much and focus more on raw power. So between its STABs and fairy coverage, Kommo-O doesn't have many issues dealing damage. In theory, anyways.
  8.
  9. Kommo-O's problem is its stats, with a strange focus on bulk for an offensive mon. Going back to being outclassed as a Dragon Dance user, Kommo-O has base 110/85 attack and speed respectively, which stops being impressive when you compare to other Dragon Dance users. Zygarde boasts one of the best offensive moves in the game in Thousand Arrows, allowing it to forego some coverage. Gyarados and Salamence boast Moxie as well as better offenses. Charizard boasts higher offenses, a better STAB combination, and a great ability in Tough Claws to complement its high powered STABs. Dragonite has both better offenses and a great ability in Multiscale, allowing to take hits from all but the most powerful attackers. Haxorus possesses great raw power as well as better damaging moves and the ability to ignore abilities when attacking. Mega Altaria has similar offenses, but possesses Pixilate which gives it great raw power in spite of its seemingly low offenses. And lastly, Tyrantrum possesses both better offenses as well as one of the best move and ability combinations in the game in STAB Head Smash plus Rock Head.
  10.
  11. Of the mons mentioned, Altaria is tied with Kommo-O for lowest power of something that would bother carrying Dragon Dance, but has an ability that makes up for the lacking offenses. Discounting Mega Altaria, the next lowest is Gyarados, who has Moxie to snowball as a sweeper.
  12.
  13. If you notice, all of the previously mentioned Dragon Dance users have better offensive stats and/or abilities. Kommo-O lacks good raw offenses or an ability to help it sweep, with all 3 of its potential abilities being purely defensive in nature. All of the other previoiusly mentioned Dragon Dance users bar Zygarde posses some kind of ability to help facilitate a sweep.
  14.
  15. So tl;dr - Kommo-O possesses a good STAB combination that is held back by poor raw offenses and a complete lack of an offensive ability.
