hey i'm just wondering but do the clients you take photos for know you share them elsewhere? you've shared quite a few pictures of other people in quixol and this is something i've held off on saying for a while now, but i'm worried the people you take pictures of don't know you're sharing them outside of where they wanted them to be

Well first of all, they sign a document that allows me to use their likeness, and second, photography copyright law states whoever pushed the shutter button owns the photo/image(edited)
Third, I haven’t had a single client to this day that wasn’t booking me for these photos to be posted to their public social media
My photography is my art, I was told not to put them in imaginationstation and instead in photography.
Actually I’m going to correct that third point, I have had exactly one client that asked me to not post their stuff anywhere publicly and frankly I wouldn’t dream of it considering the content and their request(edited)
But I do wanna know what abt it concerns you, bc you might be thinking of something I’m not
I mostly share them bc I’m proud of my art and the skills I’m honing, or because I want to see if anyone notices something off that I didn’t
Which the latter has happened before with a particular photo unfortunately and by the time I noticed it was already too late and up on insta

okay that's all good but i just asked you if they knew so i don't know why you're coming at me with all this.. i never said you couldn't send it in the photography channel so i or that it wasnt your art so i dont know where you got that from? you weren't even in trouble i was just asking if people knew to clear it up
i was concerned that people didn't know their photos were being shared in a discord server they are not even a part of
if they knew then they knew and that's all you really had to say

I apologize I’m multitasking and skimmed what you sent me
They don’t specifically know but I’m sure if I asked the ones I have shared pics of they wouldn’t care, generally I share photos where the clients also happen to be my friends(edited)
I’m also sorry for coming off harsh, that was wrong of me, I keep facing folks telling me that photography and cosplay photography especially isn’t art, particularly in the cosplay community, but just bc I’m on edge abt that constantly doesn’t mean the way I reacted was right, I’ll do better in the future
I am thinking abt it now tho and just sent a text to a fellow photog (and friend) and one to my biggest client (who also happens to be a friend)  asking what the they think  abt the idea of me doin that

it's in our rules to not share other's information and photos (even cosplay photos) can be considered under that. it's not as serious as a dox by any means, but it's still information so it's just courteous to ask the people in your photos if it's okay to share them. you are still free to share them in photography, but for staff's peace of mind we jsut wanted to be sure the people in them knew about it.
