A final lesson

[01:29] "A moment too late Del. We've finished up already, but the next time a person needs to be inducted I will ask for you."

Pericles smile turned ever so slightly softer as she spoke about offering assistance, his attention soon leaving the group ahead to stare back towards Sparrow.

He definitely should look to get the teenager's injuries looked over.

"Young Sparrow. Are you ready to depart?"

Pericles questioned, further ignoring the interactions between Del and Romani. It seemed to be a familiar gesture of greeting that the noble liked to act on.

[01:29] Romani continued to hold the chin aloft, that forced eye contact for a few seconds as the mismatched gold and blue eyes stared at Del. This lingered for a few seconds, before slowly Romani brought up his other hand. The thumb of the hand holding Del's chin would move up, lightly brushing over his lips as his other hand gently pat the older one twice on the head.

"Good Del. Looking in peoples eyes is important if you want to get the to respect them."

With that, Romani would release Del from the grip, stepping to the side.

"I think his sister wants to be introduced to the church maybe?"

[01:32] She... had still been sitting, but she did her best to ease whatever discomforts they may have with her words and expressions.. It probably wouldn't work if it was just shyness, but there was nothing to be done there. "Well.. I'm an Acolyte now if you need some help too~! I'll at least try to help you."

A nod as she shifts out of the way moving to stand near Romani, letting the conversation flow.

[01:32] Shaking her head not really wanting to join the church but coming all the while to support Del. Their Faith and beliefs was important to her. Sui would be here everyday as long as Del was happy. So was she.

"Mmm.."

She remained silent now once more. Observing all those present. From the way they acted. She felt it proper to do so unless spoken to directly. Thoughts of the ocean now became more rapid and fluent. Her mind lost in a serene and tranquil process of motion. Such like waves to a shore..

[01:34] "Y'know, I can't believe I forgot about you and your whole eye contact thing."

A sigh follows from the youth, as he beigns awkwardly scratches at the back of his neck. "Really, it's not that big of a deal." Though despite him saying that, Romani wasn't going to stop the whole eye contact thing anytime soon.

Oh well.

Oh, and now Pericles was finally calling him away for their lesson. Nice!

"Right, yeah. Sure let's gooooo."

[01:36] Del blinked. This eye contact, one forced. It felt really, really weird. They just waited until it was older as their face burned practically, more so when the Montclaire's thumb ran over their lips.

What is happening!

When they're finally released, they looked and the fire. Looking at people if they wanted respect? Was their knowledge not enough to warrant it? Likely not. But right now, the young Joyau couldn't muster up that courage, even when they aligned with Ios.

"Mh... Sui likes to keep me company...! She's more interested in water.. Unless?" They glanced at Sui, the to Sparrow and Pericles.

"C-Can I join..? I ah.. wish to get my medical license really soon. It can be helpful to.. watch over any injuries being treated."

[01:38] Romani Cos Montclaire says, "Sounds like fun for all of you. I think it's time for me to head out on the town and venture out the walls for the first time."
[01:38] Del mer Joyau says, "M-May the Stars guide you..."
[01:39] Cassy Claire asks, "...Stay safe..?"
[01:39] Romani Cos Montclaire says, "May the stars brighten your path."

[01:39] The Keeper's steps paused as Del's words entered his ears, his head turning back over his shoulder to throw a nod towards the girl, free-hand waving out for her to follow.

"Come along then. It'll most likely be short, the medical side of things. A lesson on holy magic is after."

And then he was back to walking towards the other room, offering a smile towards those that he would be departing from, the cosmic-codex placed against his chest.

[01:40] Cassy Claire asks, "I guess.. I'll head out too..?"
[01:40] Urizen Lee whispers something.
[01:40] Pericles Vitalis says, "Take a seat, Sparrow."
[01:40] Sparrow cos Queen asks, "...Are any of you licensed medics?"
[01:41] Del mer Joyau says, "..I'm training to become one. I.. wish to see some treatment and learn a bit from observation.."
[01:42] Eh, whether or not they were licensed or not didn't matter, they wanted to help, and that's what truly mattered.

"Right, that's entirely fair." A simple nod follows, as he glanced over to Pericles. "Do you need me to take my cloak, and shirt off..?"

After all it was his abdomen that was injured, surely they'd need to get a clear view of it, right?

[01:50] Pericles patiently waited for Sparrow to take a seat on the chair, a nod soon following after a question left his lips.

"Hm, the cloak and shirt."

And then he waited for the boy to follow through, and when the clothing that blocked his view of the injury was removed he took a step forward to get a better look.

The bruising so easily visible when the obstruction was gone, Sparrow's sternum had clearly taken a majority of the blow that had ended the match he had participating in before.

"Still having trouble breathing I see."

Frown overtaking his visage as he placed an index-finger against his ribcage, prodding every so slightly every now and then as his finger travelled across the ribcage.

A broken bone within his body finally found, the main cause of Sparrow's struggle when it comes to keeping a composed breathing pattern.

"This'll hurt for a moment Sparrow."

The Keeper's head tilted to stare towards Sparrow's face, nodding lightly as if to signal that he would be starting. And then holy light formed around his fingers.

Unfortunately, he didn't have the medical expertise to actually fully heal the injury, but he could lessen the struggle Sparrow was forced to go through, holy light flooding the boy's system once again, just like when he was blessed.

Although a vast difference, the boost of vitality no where near the level of blessing in the past. But it was enough to rid him of the purple bruising, and the main issue of trouble when it came to breathing.

"Deep breaths, Sparrow. That should of sorted things out."

[01:58] As instructed the youth would grasp at his green cloak, before rather recklessly hurling it off of his body, and onto the ground next to him. Not a care in the world if it got a bit dirty from it. Next came the Tank Top that was concealed by the cloak, and once that was gone the rather obvious looking bruise on his abdomen became visible.

And oh boy did it look nasty.

"Yeah... Been having a hard time breathing since they smashed their knee into me. Maaan that sucked."

A couple coughs follow, as the youth awkwardly let his hands dangle off at his side, as those emerald eyes carefully studied the holy light that flowed from Pericles, and into him. He was able to force that to manifest twice in the past, but never by choice.

It only came out subconsciously...

That was something to contemplate a little later on, right now he needed to focus on taking deep breaths. Inhale, exhale, one after the other as the light did it's thing fixing as much of his body as possible. Hel, even the bruising faded away.

"That's always amazing to watch." The youth would comment in-between deep breaths. "Thank you, Pericles. I feel a million times better." Things hadn't fully healed yet, any improvement was better than none.

"Oh, and before I forget..."

The youth hopped off of his stool, and made his way over to his clothing, and almost as quickly as they had been thrown off of him, they were back on his body.

"Much better."

[02:00] Observing those present she takes into account that everything being said seems to be of some importance... but not really pertaining to her directly. Sui would just listen for now instead of letting her thoughts run freely. She tries to focus on the conversation as hand. Realizing Del had either dozed off or just become lost in thought she waited for either instruction from the older ones. Or some form of direct indication she was being spoken too.

[02:03] "Perfect."

Pericles's smile grew, hand patting the younger teenager on the shoulder after he had resituated himself on the stool, with clothing on this time. The cosmic codex returned back into his grip, that familiar feeling of the book causing him to nod to himself.

"Did you both catch any of that? Apologies for not speaking about why exactly I was doing such things."

Blue-eyes turned towards the pair of siblings near the table, interest gleaming in his eyes as awaited a reply.

[02:09] Del seemed to have fallen into some sort of trance, one that they snapped out of quickly. They watched this treatment, how Pericles proceeded with it all. First what seemed to be an examination followed by the usage of magic. Likely to just soothe the pain. Holy arts? They're not familiar with it, aside from the soothing, healing aspects of it. It was a magic that didn't speak to them. Could they, in some way, use the stars as a means of healing?

They hummed, jotting down notes and such. Theories and ways to go about healing and easing pain. Their thoughts run a bit before Pericles speaks up.

"Ah- M-Mhm..! It's okay.. I was watching closely, coming up with ways I could use my own magic as well.. since I do not have what you do."

The Joyau rose from the stool, dark hues drifting about Sparrow. He felt better, thankfully.

"I'm glad you feel better... If you ever.. injure yourself p-please seek me out..! In the future I will have more medical experience..."

[02:13] "Good, good."

"If you need further medical lessons, Sister Nina can aid you. They're at the forefront when it comes to that side of things."

Pericles replied over towards Del, a bit of information for the acolyte in case they didn't know already. And with that out of the way, it was time to finally see how Sparrow had progressed with his holy magic.

"Sparrow."

The other acolyte's name was called out as his hands came to a rest in front of his stomach. When the noble had turned to face the Keeper, he rose a hand for Sparrow to stare towards.

Blue-eyes flared up as mana flooded his magical circuits, holy magic called into existence to enshroud around his hand.

"Attempt to enshroud your hand with holy magic. You've already called forth an amount of it before, now you merely need to get use to the experience, the feeling of such magic.

"You've gained the affinity, now youonly need the drive to refine it."

[02:24] "Oh? Well I'll hold you to that, Del. Considering I'll be following this go-... Lovely person around." He'd motion towards Pericles as he spoke. "I'll probably end up injured more often than not!"

The youth's head tilted back, as he roared out in laughter. Which was only cut off by Pericles stating his name. The youth's emerald eyes would flick over towards Pericles.

"Yeah?"

Silence immediately followed his statement, as it dawned on him that his holy lesson was about to happen. Right, he had gotten so caught up in the whole learning to treat wounds thing, that he had forgotten about his request to finish up his training.

'You've gained the affinity, now youonly need the drive to refine it'

As he sat there in thought his mana would begin to idly flow around him. No changes to it yet, just pure, unrefined mana enshrouding him.

The last words to leave Pericles mouth echoed around his mind, as he contemplated them. What had prompted him to draw out that power in the past. The first time was Pericles own holy magic drawing forth Sparrow's own during his initiation ceremony.

The next...

It was the thought of him dying, and no one being able to protect his family. Yana, and Gall, both of them chose to follow the path of a crafter, so it would be up to keep them safe.

That, and the people of Osrona needed more people willing to protect them. To risk life, and limb to keep everyone in this city safe. Sparrow would... No, he had to do that. Just like his grandfather had done all those years ago.

Sparrow would be a hero.

Those thoughts spurred on his mana to change! Just like in the last moment in his fight with the drakanite, his entire body burst forth in light. The thoughts of wanting to protect his precious cousins, and to be like his Grandfather had spurred him onto finally be able to draw out the power.

"I... I did it! YES!" The youth practically screamed as his body continued to shimmer with holy light. "AND IT DIDN'T FADE AWAY IMMEDIATLY! YES!" The teen began to rather enthusiastically leap into the air in celebration. All while a giant grin resided on his face.

He did it!

[02:25] Sister Nina. Del nodded before gesturing for Sui to join them.

"Thank you for allowing me to watch over the treatment. Please have a wonderful day, Brother Vitalis. Stars be with you..."

Perhaps it was time to explore. Parts of them were ready to gather up lumber and sell it off. Their poor little sister.. At least she seemed to enjoy it! Chopping wood was a fun past time anyway.

Del smiled at the two, followed by a quick bow before they left the room and church.
