  4. CASEY
  5. [18:16:24] <@Aeros> You stand in a dark fog. your throat is sore, as if you had been screaming, and sweat beads on your brow from frustration.
  6. [18:16:50] <@Aeros> You feel a lump in your chest, your mind is clouded and fuzzy, like you can't thing straight.
  7. [18:17:59] <@Aeros> You don't know what happened before. the blackness beyond the fog seems a void, where color cannot progress.
  8. [18:18:34] * Casey stumbles forward slowly. "Everyone! ...Anyone? Is anyone around?"
  9. [18:18:45] <@Aeros> What is before? what is after? do you have to step before you can move forward?
  10. [18:19:07] <@Aeros> A deep sense of loneliness consumes you.
  11. [18:20:14] <Casey> "Nnn... Where... Where'd I..."
  12. [18:20:19] * Casey looks for his pokemon.
  13. [18:20:30] <@Aeros> Nothing is there at your belt, at your side.
  14. [18:20:45] <@Aeros> you look down, and there is no hue to your skin. no color to your clothes.
  15. [18:21:15] <@Aeros> The fog seems to clear, and it is as if you are on a barren wasteland, devoid of color and light.
  16. [18:21:26] <Casey> "W-wh... No! This isn't a thing, some sort of... some..."
  17. [18:21:51] <@Aeros> Small grey sprigs seem to dot the landscape. cracks in the ground, somehow darker than the black surface.
  18. [18:22:22] * Casey kneels down to look at one of them. "There's... well, there's at least life here, huh?"
  19. [18:23:02] <@Aeros> Your very presence seems to make the plant wilt, and darken.
  20. [18:24:21] <@Aeros> Somehow, you know. this is the world beyond. You feel as if you have no sense of self, no sense of purpose.
  21. [18:24:34] <Casey> "What, like that? Just..."
  22. [18:24:43] * Casey checks himself for wounds. Did he get shot or something?
  23. [18:25:50] <@Aeros> You somehow come across a pool of black water, despite not remembering starting to walk. Down you see your reflection, untouched by anything but the ripples.
  24. [18:26:42] <@Aeros> a flash. you see, no, hear. Kycilia's voice. "You disappointed me, Casey."
  25. [18:26:52] <Casey> "I... why? What did I do?"
  26. [18:27:16] <Casey> "What, you killed me? Why, you betraying the rest of the military?"
  27. [18:27:44] <@Aeros> "You could do nothing." What is the military? why is that word something that came out of your mouth?
  28. [18:29:26] <Casey> "What... what'm I supposed to do then. What did I not do?"
  29. [18:30:17] <@Aeros> Roll Con, Casey.
  30. [18:30:24] <Casey> 1d20+10
  31. [18:30:25] <DiceMaid-9001> Casey, 1d20+10: 19 [1d20=9]
  32. [18:32:06] <@Aeros> Your mind flashes to a scene, you are running towards your current comrades. you run and run, but even at their walking pace, they get further and further. ((faintly, not even there))...Mr. Casey...
  33. [18:32:59] <@Aeros> "You can't do anything. you don't know them. you will be outpaced, outlasted."
  34. [18:33:10] <@Aeros> "You could never fit in."
  35. [18:33:20] <Casey> "...do... why..."
  36. [18:33:37] <Casey> "...Do I... need to?"
  37. [18:35:12] <@Aeros> Your mind flashes to other moments; performing on stage, only to get second place, time, and time again. Perhaps winning, only to go onto the finals to be dead last. Scrounging money just to make ends meet.
  38. [18:35:51] <@Aeros> Your parents, saying that you'll never amount to anything in contests.
  39. [18:36:25] <@Aeros> You find yourself on the black wasteland, looking over a cliff. ((faint))...it isn't real...
  40. [18:36:47] <Casey> "...have to jump now?"
  41. [18:36:50] <@Aeros> On the other side, on a far cliff, there seem to be people. you can't tell who they are,
  42. [18:37:02] <@Aeros> just that they are so far away.
  43. [18:37:07] <Casey> "If..."
  44. [18:37:17] <@Aeros> Roll con, Case.
  45. [18:37:22] <Casey> 1d20+10
  46. [18:37:22] <DiceMaid-9001> Casey, 1d20+10: 16 [1d20=6]
  47. [18:37:43] <Casey> "Hahaha... If everyone jumped off a cliff, would I just because everyone's doing it?"
  48. [18:38:22] <@Aeros> You cannot progress, you can barely keep coattails in your hands. You cling to others, just to be a part of something.
  49. [18:38:41] <@Aeros> each thought, bites at you, hurting you. making you feel grief, and embarassment.
  50. [18:39:10] <@Aeros> You fall to your knees. ((faint))...don't give in, please...
  51. [18:40:09] <Casey> "I..."
  52. [18:40:17] <Casey> "...Guess the answer..."
  53. [18:40:36] <Casey> "...I would... probably jump... But I wouldn't fall."
  54. [18:40:39] <Casey> "I'm gonna fly."
  55. [18:42:00] <@Aeros> ((distant, quiet))Please, be strong...
  56. [18:42:20] <@Aeros> You can't. the thought weighs down on your mind
  57. [18:42:22] <@Aeros> You will fall.
  58. [18:42:26] <@Aeros> Just like always.
  59. [18:42:28] <Casey> "I've... come this far..."
  60. [18:43:06] <@Aeros> You get to one knee, then left yourself up.
  61. [18:43:19] <@Aeros> Even now, your body aches from grief.
  62. [18:44:07] <@Aeros> Roll Con, 'Biggest Fan'.
  63. [18:44:33] <Casey> 1d20+10 here we go~
  64. [18:44:34] <DiceMaid-9001> Casey, here we go~: 29 [1d20=19]
  65. [18:44:58] <@Aeros> You run, and jump.
  66. [18:45:25] <@Aeros> And you begin to fall. You fall faster, and faster. ((distant, quiet))Don't give up...!
  67. [18:45:29] <@Aeros> You are going to crash.
  68. [18:45:37] <@Aeros> You see the jagged rocks below.
  69. [18:46:52] * Casey just turns slowly, spreading his arms. "I'd be an idiot to give up here, after all I've got! The world has to see the truth, it has to listen to my song!"
  70. [18:48:41] <@Aeros> ((distant, coming closer))...Please...Wake up!
  71. [18:48:53] <@Aeros> The ground shatters, and a beam of white light engulfs you
  72.
  73.
  74.
  75.
  76. TOM
  77. [17:17:04] <@Aeros> Flash, you open your eyes, and a feeling of sadness and misery sinks into your body. A regret numbs your mind, not letting you think straight.
  78. [17:17:31] <@Aeros> You stand in darkness, a grey fog floating around you.
  79. [17:18:10] <@Aeros> Your mind lingers to those you've left behind, to those squadmates that have been injured. To Josef, your friend.
  80. [17:18:57] <@Aeros> Suddenly, another flash, and you seem to be in your homecolony, You are close to Lilly's home business.
  81. [17:19:07] <@Aeros> Your body is transparent, as if a ghost.
  82. [17:19:52] * Tom shakes his head and looks at his hands. "What's going on..."
  83. [17:20:34] <@Aeros> You hear voices coming from inside the shop.
  84. [17:22:26] <@Aeros> You walk toward, and enter through the open door. Lilly and Josef seem to be talking.
  85. [17:22:48] <@Aeros> "...I still can't believe he's gone." Lilly says.
  86. [17:23:28] <@Aeros> "...He knew what he was getting into. He knew what was at stake...We need to move on."
  87. [17:23:51] <@Aeros> "I know, but..."
  88. [17:24:49] <@Aeros> Josef cuts her off, "Its fine...Its funny but, even though I told him I did...I never really forgave him, for my legs."
  89. [17:25:05] <Tom> "What are you talkin' about? I 'aint..."
  90. [17:25:24] <@Aeros> "Josef..." They don't seem to hear you, "Josef, he really cared for you."
  91. [17:26:29] <@Aeros> "It doesn't matter now, he's gone...I understand why he did it, but...If he was a little more agressive...then maybe I could have come out unscathed."
  92. [17:26:54] <@Aeros> Roll dex, Tom.
  93. [17:27:45] <Tom> 1d20 allright then
  94. [17:27:45] <DiceMaid-9001> Tom, allright then: 5 [1d20=5]
  95. [17:28:28] <@Aeros> It seems to fade, only Josef in his wheelchair now. "Its his fault...His fault, his friends died, his fault he died."
  96. [17:28:37] <@Aeros> "Just because he couldn't pull a trigger."
  97. [17:28:45] <@Aeros> for some reason, the words pierce you hard.
  98. [17:29:02] <@Aeros> You feel your body aching from stress.
  99. [17:29:53] <Tom> "Urgh..."
  100. [17:30:17] <@Aeros> Flash.
  101. [17:31:03] <@Aeros> Things are blurry, quick. an enemy grabs your friend, who is it? Sam? Freya?
  102. [17:31:29] <@Aeros> You have a gun in your hand, you are pointing it towards them.
  103. [17:32:48] <@Aeros> "Shoot! Shoot!" your friend cries, the enemy has their gun to her head.
  104. [17:33:34] <Tom> "What? No way! I can't..."
  105. [17:33:53] <@Aeros> The enemy begins to back up, out a door.
  106. [17:34:10] <@Aeros> "Please! Please!" ((faintly, not even there))...Tom...
  107. [17:34:31] <Tom> "Stop it! Let her go!"
  108. [17:34:58] <@Aeros> Your words turn to mush in your mouth. you can't convey what you are trying to say.
  109. [17:35:36] <@Aeros> "They're going to...!" ((faintly, unheard))Tom...isn't...
  110. [17:35:51] <@Aeros> The enemy begins to back out of the door, this is your last chance.
  111. [17:36:05] <@Aeros> Roll Dexterity, Ensign.
  112. [17:36:17] <Tom> 1d20
  113. [17:36:17] <DiceMaid-9001> Tom, 1d20: 6 [1d20=6]
  114. [17:36:42] <@Aeros> Your hands are frozen, you can't fire the gun. You can't. Its a weapon.
  115. [17:36:59] <@Aeros> The door shuts. a Shot muffles a woman's scream.
  116. [17:37:18] <Tom> "NO!!!"
  117. [17:37:49] <@Aeros> Its too late. Only now do you realize the fire extinguisher next to the door.
  118. [17:38:08] <@Aeros> You were too afraid. ((faintly, unheard))Tom...why can't you...hear...
  119. [17:38:46] <@Aeros> You collapse to your knees, your bones hurt. Tears form in your eyes.
  120. [17:39:39] <@Aeros> The gun drops out of your hand; your hands too stiff and numb to hold it.
  121. [17:40:36] <Tom> "Damn it... I don't want to have to kill people... just to protect..."
  122. [17:40:42] <@Aeros> You are in the grey fog again.
  123. [17:42:16] <@Aeros> You feel like you deserve to be here, your heart feels painful, like someone is twisting it. ((faintly, unheard))...Mr. Tom please...this isn't real...
  124. [17:43:13] <@Aeros> Why can't you Roll Dex, Tommy?
  125. [17:44:40] <Tom> 1d20
  126. [17:44:41] <DiceMaid-9001> Tom, 1d20: 9 [1d20=9]
  127. [17:46:57] <@Aeros> Your bones feel brittle, you sit in a wheelchair, unable to move.
  128. [17:47:42] <@Aeros> You feel inaction invade you. Why should you move. Its pointless. There is nothing but dispair.
  129. [17:48:24] <@Aeros> No matter how strong you are, how smart you are, how reasonable you are. You are afraid of action. When everything else breaks down...you still can't fire. ((Faint, growing away into blackness)) Mr Tom, please. You can't... ...I can't reach you... ...Everyone please... ...wake up...
  130.
  131.
  132.
  133.
  134.
  135. SAM
  136. [22:37:56] <@Aeros> One foot beyond the other, you tread in a clausterphobic fog. your head feels light, like you can't think clearly.
  137. [22:38:13] <@Aeros> your heart aches, your stomach feels hollow.
  138. [22:38:16] * Sam looks around for the Leo and Casey
  139. [22:38:47] <@Aeros> you look around and it feels like your head spins, who are Leo and Casey? you are alone. Alone.
  140. [22:39:59] <@Aeros> A flash, the fog parts and you are floating in space, like a ghost. you see a ship, decrepit and ancient.
  141. [22:40:57] <@Aeros> You go towards it, and go through its walls. you are at the front of the ship.
  142. [22:41:45] <@Aeros> ...a single thought enters your brain. '...Daddy?'
  143. [22:42:25] * Sam puts one hand on her head, looking around, "Is this the ship you were on?"
  144. [22:43:06] <@Aeros> Where is he.
  145. [22:43:40] <Sam> "He's not going to be here, he got out, I have to figure out where he went."
  146. [22:44:24] <@Aeros> Yet you feel your body moving forward. down the aisles. you see faceless people in spacesuits, most of them cracked or ripped, no one moving.
  147. [22:44:28] <@Aeros> none of them important.
  148. [22:45:23] <@Aeros> you move through first class. then second.
  149. [22:45:31] <@Aeros> Where is he.
  150. [22:45:38] <@Aeros> It enters your thoughts again.
  151. [22:45:58] <Sam> "Was there something you were fixing?"
  152. [22:46:17] <Sam> "What happened to everyone here, Dad?"
  153. [22:47:07] <@Aeros> as you move forward, it feels like everything gets dirtier, people have blood spatters masking their visors, others permanently stuck doubled over in pain.
  154. [22:47:21] <@Aeros> Where is he.
  155. [22:48:02] * Sam tires to push on, "Was it the engines, cargo, where did you go to?"
  156. [22:48:44] <@Aeros> It feels like you are going to throw up, your mine begins to quicken, panicking.
  157. [22:48:57] <@Aeros> you reach third class.
  158. [22:49:21] <@Aeros> there is a single passenger. sitting in one of the seats facing away from the front.
  159. [22:50:49] * Sam looks in the visor, trying to steady her hands
  160. [22:51:44] <@Aeros> Your shaking hand lifts his head up, the glare from the light clears.
  161. [22:51:54] <@Aeros> A flash.
  162. [22:52:06] <@Aeros> the fog parts and you are floating in space, like a ghost.
  163. [22:52:12] <@Aeros> you see a ship, decrepit and ancient.
  164. [22:52:23] <@Aeros> you go towards it, and go through its walls. you are at the front of the ship.
  165. [22:52:34] <@Aeros> ...a single thought, enters your mind. '...Dad?'
  166. [22:52:52] <@Aeros> You can't remember what happens before. or after.
  167. [22:53:08] <@Aeros> Over and over, the cycle continues.
  168. [22:53:49] <@Aeros> you move through first class, then second. and third.
  169. [22:53:55] <@Aeros> there is only one passenger.
  170. [22:53:59] <@Aeros> you lift his head up.
  171. [22:54:04] <@Aeros> A flash.
  172. [22:54:07] * Sam keeps trying to identify the figure in third class
  173. [22:54:11] <@Aeros> you move towards the ship,
  174. [22:54:20] <@Aeros> through the classes.
  175. [22:54:23] <@Aeros> one passenger.
  176. [22:54:33] <@Aeros> you lift his head up.
  177. [22:54:51] <@Aeros> CRACK. your father's visor shatters.
  178. [22:55:18] <@Aeros> You scream, but it feels hollow. like it came from another voice.
  179. [22:55:28] <@Aeros> but the pain inside is real.
  180. [22:57:20] <@Aeros> A flash. you are collapsed to your on the dense fog holding your face.
  181. [22:57:32] <@Aeros> an irrational sadness, tears streaming down your face.
  182. [22:57:36] * Sam cries and bites onto her lip to try and regain some composure
  183. [22:57:41] <@Aeros> Because you know. You've always known.
  184. [22:58:27] <@Aeros> A flash. two boats. one has macbeth. the other, Kits. the third both is crashed.
  185. [22:58:58] <Sam> "C-captain?"
  186. [22:59:05] <@Aeros> Macbeth holds a knife, a drop of blood drips off of it, Kits' fists are bloody. they both look at you.
  187. [22:59:15] <@Aeros> Then they look away.
  188. [22:59:24] <@Aeros> Macbeth's boat begins to sail away.
  189. [22:59:27] <Sam> "Warmth?"
  190. [22:59:33] <Sam> "No!"
  191. [22:59:48] <@Aeros> and after. Kits' boat does as well.
  192. [22:59:53] * Sam tries to run forward to stop them
  193. [23:00:10] <@Aeros> you reach the shore, all that is there is the crashed wooden boat.
  194. [23:00:18] <@Aeros> with your father's bones resting inside.
  195. [23:00:34] <@Aeros> Macbeth's boat disappears into the fog.
  196. [23:00:40] <@Aeros> and soon, so does Kits'
  197. [23:01:24] <@Aeros> Alone. all alone.
  198. [23:01:24] * Sam stares at the bones then falls down to sit by the boat
  199. [23:01:39] <Sam> "H-hey Dad."
  200. [23:01:44] <@Aeros> Teresa isn't there. Sparrow isn't there. Leo, or Tom, or Kaz, or even casey.
  201. [23:01:46] <@Aeros> aren't there.
  202. [23:03:23] <Sam> "Did it- was it quick?"
  203. [23:03:33] <@Aeros> You get no response.
  204. [23:03:41] <@Aeros> And you never will.
  205. [23:05:18] * Sam shakes her head, sobbing out, "D-daddy, I love you. I'm so sorry I didn't find you. I'm sorry."
  206. [23:06:00] <@Aeros> (roll me charisma, Samantha.)
  207. [23:06:07] <Sam> 1d20+5
  208. [23:06:07] <DiceMaid-9001> Sam, 1d20+5: 24 [1d20=19]
  209. [23:06:32] <@Aeros> Something pulls at your heart. what is it. what could possibly be more important.
  210. [23:06:44] <@Aeros> you look out to the ocean. there is something just below the water, way out.
  211. [23:08:13] <@Aeros> But your heart wants to stay here. where you are. how could you even make the effort. to go out that far.
  212. [23:09:02] <@Aeros> This is where you deserve to be. This sorrow you feel.
  213. [23:09:38] * Sam looks out and looks back at the bones, "God, why didn't I try harder?"
  214. [23:09:56] * Sam slowly sets about setting them on the shore, above the tideline
  215. [23:10:11] <@Aeros> YOu attempt to pick up the first bone.
  216. [23:10:20] <@Aeros> yet it crumbles to dust at your touch.
  217. [23:10:37] <@Aeros> you try again, more gently. yet it still crumbles.
  218. [23:10:48] <@Aeros> you can't even touch him.
  219. [23:10:52] <@Aeros> and you never will again.
  220. [23:11:17] * Sam stares at her hands, clenching them and screaming
  221. [23:12:04] <@Aeros> Sorrow and dispair consume you. ((faintly, not even there))...omma...
  222. [23:13:32] <@Aeros> Your screams seem to be drowned out by the roaring sea. ((faint))...Momma please...
  223. [23:13:54] * Sam punches the ground and stifles the scream, standing up and trying to remember her mother and then Sparrow
  224. [23:14:25] <@Aeros> (roll me charisma, Sam)
  225. [23:14:29] <Sam> 1d20+5
  226. [23:14:29] <DiceMaid-9001> Sam, 1d20+5: 20 [1d20=15]
  227. [23:15:15] <@Aeros> You can't remember anyone. There is nothing beyond. ((faint))...You're hurting, momma...
  228. [23:15:40] <@Aeros> Nothing but more pain. More sorrow. ((quiet, distant))...Please...
  229. [23:16:46] <@Aeros> You look out ot the roaring sea once more, you can still see that glowing light, just under the rough surface. ((quiet, distant))...Please momma...
  230. [23:17:19] <@Aeros> Your heart still feels like it is in the pit of your stomach. your body trembles, and tears still stream down your face.
  231. [23:17:23] <@Aeros> (roll me charisma, Momma)
  232. [23:17:27] <Sam> 1d20+5
  233. [23:17:27] <DiceMaid-9001> Sam, 1d20+5: 22 [1d20=17]
  234. [23:17:44] * Sam tries to stand up straight, saluting the bones, "Bye Dad."
  235. [23:18:08] * Sam stumbles towards the water, trying to get to the light
  236. [23:18:09] <@Aeros> Your hand trembles, forming a pitiful salut, you gasp as you announce your goodbyes.
  237. [23:18:29] <@Aeros> The water is heavy, and slams into you. you can barely see.
  238. [23:18:42] <@Aeros> You move your heavy body through the waves.
  239. [23:19:49] <@Aeros> You can't see, you open your eyes for moments to reduce the stinging saltwater from entering your already swollen eyes.
  240. [23:20:25] <@Aeros> You get closer. And Closer. ((distant, coming closer))...Please momma...Wake up!
  241. [23:21:03] <@Aeros> Suddenly, you feel as if you are falling, your body a being of light. The glowing essence you were following hits you as a column of light.
  242. [23:21:16] <@Aeros> You gasp and look up.
  243.
  244.
  245. TERESA
  246. [18:27:41] <@Aeros> A flash. You wake up in a hot air balloon. the sky is dark, and it is storming hard. you are all alone.
  247. [18:28:31] <@Aeros> Your throat feels scratchy, like you have a lump at the bottom.
  248. [18:29:00] <@Aeros> Your mind is numb, you can't think correctly.
  249. [18:29:48] <@Aeros> BOOOM
  250. [18:30:07] <@Aeros> a loud sound cracks it makes your ears ring. your pulse races for a reason unknown to you.
  251. [18:30:20] <@Aeros> so close it makes*
  252. [18:31:14] * Teresa rubs at her throat and stands up, gripping the edge of the basket and trying to see if there's anything around.
  253. [18:32:57] <@Aeros> nothing but water below, the roaring waves drowned out by the rain and thunder.
  254. [18:33:37] <Teresa> "Where the hell am I?"
  255. [18:33:45] <@Aeros> a flash of lightning, then another CRACK
  256. [18:33:58] <@Aeros> its so close, its instantaneous.
  257. [18:34:15] <Teresa> "Shit!"
  258. [18:35:34] * Teresa checks to see if she has any of her things.
  259. [18:36:22] <@Aeros> Nothing. you look up. you try to remember...but you can't you don't know. you have no idea how to control this thing.
  260. [18:36:45] <@Aeros> another crack of lightning somehow even closer. it makes you burst into tears, you aren't sure why.
  261. [18:36:49] <@Aeros> you start to panic.
  262. [18:39:03] <@Aeros> Another flash, and you scream. smoke starts flooding the air around you, the balloon above you alights.
  263. [18:39:27] <@Aeros> Quickly, it begins to spiral downward, towards the water below.
  264. [18:41:03] <@Aeros> You gasp as the sea engulfs your basket, the flaming cloth above you coming down, you find yourself unable to breath.
  265. [18:41:11] <@Aeros> Roll Int, Teresa
  266. [18:41:15] <Teresa> 1d20+9

  268. [18:43:01] <@Aeros> A flash, you find yourself cradling Sam. she's bloody, and breathing very shallowly.
  269. [18:43:14] <@Aeros> there are sounds of gunfire, you are in a city that is in flames.
  270. [18:43:32] <Teresa> "Sam!"
  271. [18:43:41] <Teresa> "Hold on, I'm here. I can fix this."
  272. [18:43:45] * Teresa tries to heal her.
  273. [18:48:36] <@Aeros> You attempt to, but your powers don't come. You feel nothing well in you, her wounds do not mend.
  274. [18:49:15] <@Aeros> Sorrow rises, and tears form. She coughs blood, and looks at you pleadingly.
  275. [18:50:08] <Teresa> "No, no, Sam, hold on."
  276. [18:51:01] * Teresa looks around for someone. If she doesn't see anyone, she tries picking Sam up.
  277. [18:51:16] <@Aeros> Her eyes begin to glaze, you attempt to lift her, there are people all around but no one is stopping.
  278. [18:51:27] <@Aeros> Sam cries out in pain as you lift her.
  279. [18:51:37] <Teresa> "Hey! Someone help!"
  280. [18:52:08] <Teresa> "I'll get you to a doctor. Hold on."
  281. [18:54:01] <@Aeros> Her eyes glaze, and she slumps in your arms.
  282. [18:54:30] <@Aeros> You can see the faintest bit of determination in her body, but eventually, she stops moving as you rush forward, trying to find someone, anyone.
  283. [18:54:53] <Teresa> "Someone, please! Just- just tell me where to find a doctor!"
  284. [18:56:55] <@Aeros> No one answers you, some soldiers rush past you with hardly a glance...no one cares.
  285. [18:57:11] <@Aeros> They're moving on. without you. ((faintly, not even there))Momma...
  286. [18:57:32] <@Aeros> roll int, Tessa.

  290. [18:59:07] * Teresa tries to force herself to wake up. "This can't be real."
  291. [19:00:05] <@Aeros> A flash. you are in a graveyard. You feel older, weaker.
  292. [19:00:22] <@Aeros> Two graves are in front of you. rain is pouring down.
  293. [19:00:59] <@Aeros> You know, who they belong to. ((faint))Its not real...Please...I have to...
  294. [19:01:37] * Teresa rubs at her eyes. "This isn't real."
  295. [19:03:24] <@Aeros> Yet you collapse to your knees, sorrow filling your body. your bones ache from the stress.
  296. [19:03:42] <@Aeros> You look at the first grave. Samantha Welmark.
  297. [19:04:11] <@Aeros> You look at the second grave. Fear consumes you, you don't want to read it.
  298. [19:05:13] * Teresa shakes her head. "No."
  299. [19:06:02] <@Aeros> Yet your eyes continue to gaze toward it.
  300. [19:08:27] <@Aeros> Roll int, Momma.

  306. [19:12:08] <@Aeros> RIP - 17 October 190 to 11 October 200SE
  307. [19:12:29] * Teresa shakily puts her hand on it. "This... can't be real."
  308. [19:14:03] <@Aeros> But it is.
  309. [19:14:06] <@Aeros> It will be.
  310. [19:14:17] <@Aeros> and it is your fault.
  311. [19:14:53] <@Aeros> These fears, always dormant in the back of your mind, rise to the forefront. You couldn't save her, you can't protect her.
  312. [19:15:14] * Teresa puts her head in her hands. "No, I..."
  313. [19:15:49] <@Aeros> ((faint))Momma please...you can't...you can't let her...

  317. [19:17:03] <@Aeros> ((quiet, distant))You're stronger...smarter...please...
  318. [19:17:27] <@Aeros> you feel a faint light, twinkling beyond the grey fog you sit in. everything beyond is black, except for that twinkling.
  319. [19:17:42] <@Aeros> You feel as if your energy is drained.
  320. [19:18:23] * Teresa forces her to stand up and head towards the twinkling.
  321. [19:19:40] <@Aeros> You stumble towards it
  322. [19:21:42] <Teresa> "I don't- I REFUSE to believe it. It can't be real." Teresa repeats this to herself like a mantra.
  323. [19:21:48] <@Aeros> One foot, after the next, you aren't sure what motivates you, what drives you. the feeling of sorrow and regret still pierce you, as real to you as spears.
  324. [19:21:56] <@Aeros> You pass by Sparrows grave.
  325. [19:22:08] <@Aeros> you feel tears welling in your eyes.
  326. [19:22:22] * Teresa chokes out a sob but keeps going.
  327. [19:25:20] <@Aeros> ((distant, coming closer))Momma please...wake up!
  328. [19:25:52] <@Aeros> The light begins to approach you, and you are absorbed into it, casting away the gray fog.

  331.
  332.
  333.
  334.
  335. KAZUMA
  336. [16:54:45] <@Aeros> you find yourself in a dark fog, your stomach sinks deep, and you feel a pain in your chest that can only be described as regret.
  337. [16:56:21] <@Aeros> You can't see beyond a few feet, yet you find yourself walking forward.
  338. [16:56:34] * Kazuma struggles to catch his breath, peering around in the fog to see if he can figure out where the hell.
  339. [16:57:52] <@Aeros> Your head feels fuzzy, like you can't see clearly. you see glimpses of a green aura, here and there.
  340. [16:59:30] <Kazuma> "W-who's there?"
  341. [16:59:35] <Kazuma> Stumble, stumble.
  342. [16:59:57] <@Aeros> The heavy grey fog seems to weigh you down as you walk. The green aura isn't ever in the same place, but you attempt to stumble after it.
  343. [17:00:16] <@Aeros> You come to a small house, almost idylic.
  344. [17:01:45] <@Aeros> You feel an urge to enter, the world is so cold.
  345. [17:02:41] * Kazuma claws at the doorknob a few times before finally managing to get it open, and all but falls inside.
  346. [17:03:54] <@Aeros> Your sister Saeko catches you, and says something you can't make out, is it taunting? She brings you over to the family table. You realize you are clutching your sword tightly, but you still can't bring yourself to let go of it, for some reason.
  347. [17:04:43] <@Aeros> Everyone is blurry, but somehow you know who they are, who they always were. your sister, and your father.
  348. [17:04:57] <@Aeros> you can hear your mother humming from the kitchen.
  349. [17:06:35] <Kazuma> "M-mom. Hey. Mom. Where are you? I've been looking for you." Kaz tries to get up.
  350. [17:07:07] <@Aeros> the pain in your chest does not lift. you can feel yourself full of pain. you hear footsteps behind you, and a sense of dread you only know from one source.
  351. [17:08:13] <@Aeros> Right behind you, you feel like someone lifts something up just above your head.
  352. [17:08:25] <@Aeros> you only have a moment to react.
  353. [17:09:21] * Kazuma stumbles forward, away from the something behind him, and crashes into the table.
  354. [17:09:35] <@Aeros> you are sitting down already, sword in hand.
  355. [17:10:10] <@Aeros> again, you feel it, close, a sense of danger, fight or flight kicks in. its him. its got to be.
  356. [17:10:37] * Kazuma blindly lashes out behind himself.
  357. [17:12:17] <@Aeros> Its gone, the feeling of dread is gone. only crushing sorrow as you pierce your mother's torso with your sword. your world begins to crumble away as you watch the life leave her red eyes.
  358. [17:14:43] <@Aeros> Roll Strength, Kazuma.
  359. [17:15:19] <Kazuma> 1d20+14
  360. [17:15:20] <DiceMaid-9001> Kazuma, 1d20+14: 18 [1d20=4]
  361. [17:18:57] <@Aeros> You struggle to hold on, you killed her. You killed her. You did it.
  362. [17:19:30] <@Aeros> Flash, you look up, you are on your knees, covered in blood. around you are victimes, pools of blood, piles of bodies. all D's work, you somehow know.
  363. [17:20:44] <@Aeros> 'This is all your fault' a voice whispers. ((faint, barely audible))...what...what is...
  364. [17:21:07] <Kazuma> "No! It's not. D did it. Can't you see that?"
  365. [17:22:10] <@Aeros> 'call yourself whatever you wish...you are still a part of him, as long as he lives.' ((faint, barely audible))Mr...Mr Kazuma...What...
  366. [17:23:18] <Kazuma> "I'm not! I'm my own person."
  367. [17:24:05] <@Aeros> 'why do you still run. why did you hide...' ((faint))...Kazuma...Don't...
  368. [17:25:14] <@Aeros> 'Your actions are what cause misfortune...' A flash. suddenly it is not nameless bodies, but those of your friends and comrades. you dare not look any in the face.
  369. [17:25:48] <Kazuma> "I'm not running from anything any more. I came back. I came back to fight with them!"
  370. [17:26:13] <@Aeros> 'You know that isn't true... you still know...' ((faint))...no...'s only saying...don't...
  371. [17:26:35] <@Aeros> roll strength, Kaz.
  372. [17:26:55] <Kazuma> 1d20+14

  374. [17:27:35] <@Aeros> 'you know you still regret...those burdens are only your own...and now it will cause even more misfortune...'
  375. [17:28:38] <Kazuma> "Shut UP."
  376. [17:29:53] <@Aeros> Your feeble shout gives a moment of pause to the voice, but does nothing to stop the creeping regret in the back of your mind 'giving your burdens to others...will only cause them to fall...' ((quiet, distant))...its not true...Kazuma...playing with your...fears...
  377. [17:32:19] <@Aeros> 'You chose this path...and it will be because of you...' ((quiet, distant))...your...sorrows...we...share each others...
  378. [17:33:10] <@Aeros> 'because of you.' an image flashes once again to the house, your sister and father staring at you over your mothers lifeless body, horrified.
  379. [17:33:41] <@Aeros> ((quiet, distant))nnngh...focusing on...
  380. [17:33:44] <Kazuma> "Just shut the fuck up." Kazuma takes a deep breath, and grins into the darkness. "I'm not running or hiding any more. I'll take whatever happens head on, and I'll win. You can't stop me. D couldn't stop me and he was inside me. You, on the other hand, are just waving some smoke and mirrors at me."
  381. [17:33:55] <Kazuma> "Why the hell would I be afraid of that?"
  382. [17:34:05] <@Aeros> roll Strength, Uncle Kazuma.
  383. [17:34:26] <Kazuma> 1d20+14 KICK REASON TO THE CURB CHECK
  384. [17:34:27] <DiceMaid-9001> Kazuma, KICK REASON TO THE CURB CHECK: 20 [1d20=6]
  385. [17:38:08] <@Aeros> ((distant, coming closer))Uncle Kazuma...you are...
  386. [17:36:07] <@Aeros> "Kazuma." You open your eyes. you are in a grassy field on a colony. you are younger. you turn around.
  387. [17:36:39] <@Aeros> Your mother waits, her arms open. her golden locks flow in the breezy wind.
  388. [17:37:35] <@Aeros> The chill of sorrow is gone.
  389. [17:39:03] <Kazuma> "Hey."
  390. [17:39:41] <@Aeros> "Here." a flicker of green aura. She's waiting for you.
  391. [17:39:50] <@Aeros> You feel warmth from her.
  392. [17:40:22] <@Aeros> No hostility, but, perhaps a touch, of honest sadness, in her eyes.
  393. [17:40:52] * Kazuma steps hurriedly forward.
  394. [17:42:29] <@Aeros> You rush into her arms, and she embraces you, You can smell her perfume she would often wear, "My little Kazuma...I love you...goodbye..."
  395. [17:43:19] <Kazuma> "Wait! Goodbye already?"
  396. [17:43:23] <@Aeros> And just like that she begins to fade.
  397. [17:43:43] <@Aeros> She smiles to you as her body fades.
  398. [17:43:52] <@Aeros> "You've made me proud..."
  399. [17:44:47] <@Aeros> "I'm sorry about...the misunderstanding...I caused..."
  400. [17:45:05] <@Aeros> her voice begins to fade as well. "But I had to...make her promise so..."
  401. [17:45:17] <Kazuma> "Don't go!"
  402. [17:45:17] <@Aeros> the last part becomes inaudible, and she fades from view.
  403. [17:46:21] <@Aeros> the sky darkens as if becoming night, and the ground turns dark.
  404. [17:47:19] <@Aeros> all that you can see is a ball of light ahead of you, ((Fading away, rapidly))Mister Kazuma...
  405. [17:47:31] <@Aeros> which races towards you, enveloping you in light.

  411. LEO
  412. [21:38:52] <@Aeros> Leo, as soon as you enter the room, you feel a heavy pressure. you collapse to one knee, and out of the corner of your eye you see everyone doing the same; even through the flashes and lines of light, you can see Teresa and Sam near collapse on the other side of the room.
  413. [21:39:11] <@Aeros> The light isn't so much actual light as your eyes flicking around, unable to comprehend
  414. [21:39:43] <@Aeros> You have a sinking feeling in your stomach. Your mind struggles to remain in control. tears well up in your eyes.
  415. [21:47:45] <@Aeros> A flash. You are a child, you watch from a window as loud noises surround you. You are in a hospital; something terrible has happened. People are panicking, and there are fires being put out by the sprinklers. You hear screams outside, doctors shouting.
  416. [21:49:24] <@Aeros> You have a nasty cut on your hand, and your face feels wet. You need to find your mother. She'll know what to do. You go running down the hallway-Flash. You are crawling towards the center of the room. Your mind on the limits of sanity, attempting to crawl toward the blur thats in the center of the room. The pressure on your body makes your bones ache, dull pains brought back to life by an unknown force.
  417. [21:49:53] <Leo> "Nnng."
  418. [21:50:42] <@Aeros> As you attempt to focus on the blur, trying to make sense what happened, You slip back into running through the hallway with a flash.
  419. [21:51:50] <@Aeros> Hallways are partially collapsed, you can't see from time to time, things are going red in your left eye. You keep wiping it away as you move towards where your mother was.
  420. [21:53:15] <@Aeros> Everything happens so fast, and you find your mother; what happened exactly, you can't remember. she whispers something to you, Apply pressure. You put the cloth that is in your hand on your mother's waist, where blood is coming out.
  421. [21:53:57] <@Aeros> Flash. you are applying pressure to a patient. you are an adult. Why can't you save him. you bark orders to the other doctors, but they can't react quickly enough.
  422. [21:54:47] <@Aeros> Desperately, you attempt to use your awakened abilities, but nothing comes, the wound doesn't mend, and the blood doesn't stop.
  423. [21:55:33] <@Aeros> You find yourself sitting in a darkened room, yourself again, sitting in a chair. Your mind is blurred, you are unsure of where you are, where you were, where you are going to be.
  424. [21:55:53] <@Aeros> So many patients dead. So many people that you could not save, will not save.
  425. [21:56:22] <@Aeros> "Why do you so desperately cling to those you could not help." A voice says.
  426. [21:56:55] <@Aeros> "What happened to the calm and collected Leonard. Where is he now? has he failed, even you?"
  427. [21:57:12] <@Aeros> Male or female, you could not say, but it is of someone close to you.
  428. [21:58:10] <Leo> "...What is this...?"
  429. [21:58:15] <@Aeros> "Who was it that died first? Teresa? Samantha? Thompson? Kazuma?"
  430. [21:58:29] <@Aeros> "Do you even remember?"
  431. [21:58:53] <@Aeros> A flash, you are crawling, another, and you are back in your chair, dealing with the sorrows of those past.
  432. [21:58:54] <Leo> "Dead? No. They... can't be dead."
  433. [21:59:32] <@Aeros> "You couldn't save them all. You had to chose." A voice says sympathetically, "And you kept choosing. until they were all gone."
  434. [22:00:40] <Leo> "That's not right..."
  435. [22:01:13] <@Aeros> It feels like a static clouds your vision. overlaying your current dilemma; you are attempting to frantically help your mother live, as the grief compounds with the layer of being at her funeral.
  436. [22:03:11] * Leo tries to move away from the funeral.
  437. [22:03:29] <@Aeros> "You are resistant." For some reason your vision flickers back to the scene where you are attempting to crawl, tears rolling down your face, you feel like you are wanting to vomit.
  438. [22:04:00] <@Aeros> You move away from the funeral, you walk into your mother's old room, your dad isn't home; nothing has been touched yet.
  439. [22:04:07] <@Aeros> You can't do anything like this.
  440. [22:04:13] <@Aeros> And you will never be able to.
  441. [22:04:35] <@Aeros> A flash, you are attempting to mend one of your comrades wounds, a dark spear has punctured them through.
  442. [22:04:41] <@Aeros> Your powers are useless.
  443. [22:04:56] <@Aeros> Who is it? who are you trying to help? You can't tell.
  444. [22:05:37] <Leo> "...Come on..."
  445. [22:05:52] <Leo> "This isn't... how my head works..."
  446. [22:06:07] * Leo tries to shake his head, trying to clear away the static.
  447. [22:06:17] <@Aeros> roll wisdom, Leo.
