This night I'll never forget, I was playing video games, when the doorbell rang. I answered the door, but no one was there - just a package; it had a note, "Please accept this free DVD as a gift for being a loyal customer" - Blockbuster. This was a few years ago -- ergo blockbuster was still a thing. I opened the package, to my surprise it was my favorite childhood anime "Chi's Sweet Home" But something about the case seemed... off. I brushed it off and went to my computer and inserted the disc. The opening played as normal -- but halfway in it became distorted! chi's eyes turned red and began to glow - the cat was smiling at me. Slighly ticked off at this I brushed it aside, typical bad dvd condition happens all the time at these places right? Well thats what I thought; but this was not the case. I continued watching and then suddenly without warning the screen faded to black in the middle of the episode - the menacing image of the smiling cat was back! This time his fur was covered in blood, she mouthed to me "turn off the dvd and play with me." I didn't know what to do at this point - but I continued watching. The episode resumed as normal for about 2 minutes -- then the image returned again! The blood was more consistent this time and the grin was wider!! It wasn't mouthing anymore either, it spoke. "I warned you, now you will have to play with me forever!" I tried to run, but when I opened my door, the cat was there too, it was hissing at me. I tried to run to the back door, and when I opened it, the cat was there too! The cat the cat -- I can't get rid of this image! The image, the bloody smile, it still haunts me to this day.
