  1. [Preamble]
  2. Just my personal list of recommended FNV mods not in particular order so you'll need to organize things in MO2 yourself.
  3.
  4. It's just some niche mods, some might not be your cuppa tea so feel free to cherry pick since that's what this list was intended for. Keep in mind mod authors are finicky and depending on when you read this some may have hidden or changed the name of their mods so keep that in mind.
  5.
  6. This list is made with the impression that you've learned how to mod or have a clean and stable modlist. Making it work correctly is your responsibility.
  7.
  8. Read the mod description, requirements and comments for them. It's good practice to prevent misunderstandings, install the mods and patches correctly and to keep yourself well informed on what other users know pertaining to issues they had with it.
  9.
  10. [References]
  11. I 100% recommend this guide --> https://vivanewvegas.github.io/ <-- as a reference for making FNV stable. Don't go through this list yet unless you have a basic understanding of FNV modding or have gone through that guide and read it THROUGHLY.
  12.
  13. Chat me up here if you need something --> https://www.nexusmods.com/users/91015803 | Pacer#7824 <-- Or to talk cause that's fun.
  14.
  15. NOTE!!! FNV mods get updated a lot on the Nexus and will have superior versions or a redux released eventually. Some of the mods here might become obsolete over time. If the changelog is old that means either nothing needed to be updated or I haven't been updating it.
  16.
  17. [Changelog]
  18. Last edited: 3/5/2023 Finally cleaned up the guide and revised parts. Removed some mods, added new ones and replaced some with better ones. Added [Outside the Nexus] category at the bottom. Considering reformatting the list to be more compact with far less description for the mods.
  19.
  20. - 2/13/2022 Added a note stating how long since this list has been touched up. Removed a deleted mod.
  21. - 5/2/2021 Added a few changes and warnings
  22. - 4/2/2021 Edited [Preamble], added to [Visual]
  23. - 3/30/2021 Merged [Other] into [Performance]. Titled [Preamble] and spiffed it up a bit.
  24. - 3/27/2021 Added [Power Armor] and edited things a bit.
  25. - 3/20/2021
  26.
  27. [Performance/Debug]
  28. "FNV Diagnostics" Finds issues in your load order and suggests steps to fix them.
  29. "Inspector" Small in-game tool to retrieve information about the objects that surround you.
  30. "FPS Counter" Simple-but-fully-configurable in-game FPS counter, to check the framerate, mainly for statistic and debug purposes.
  31. "Clean-Deluxe NV" Increases FPS while removing unsightly clutter, glows, and dust. (Removes horrible devil dust and doesn't delete records outright by only disabling them, conflict friendly but mileage can very.
  32. "No More Dust Devils (and Whirlwinds)" This by Nehred only gets rid of dust devils if you need the clutter.
  33. "Item Browser" Basically an FNV version of the minecraft creative menu. Very cheaty. Useful for role-play purposes, screwing around or fixing things done by other mods. Can only be found on the Tomminfinite discord linked here https://discord.gg/ZctVZFbMPK
  34.
  35. [Gameplay] (As you can see, I like gameplay.)
  36. "Misc. Gamesetting Tweaks" A collection of INI mods to configure GameSettings to your liking. Powered by lStewieAl's Tweaks. (A must have)
  37. "Dynamic Stealth -- Lighting Modifies Sneak" Grants player a configurable, dynamic Sneak modifier scaled with amount of light they're in.
  38. "Sticky Bombs and Ammo" Make C-4, mines and types of ammunition able to stick to where they hit.
  39. "Better Balanced Backpacks" Adds balanced backpacks and an expandable scripted framework that allows backpacks to take damage from combat.
  40. "Mines Explode Faster" Reduces delay between approach and mine explosion from 3 seconds to 1 second.
  41. "Realistic Launched Explosive Speed" Explosives now fire at IRL speeds and arcs. (This one is great)
  42. "NPCs Sprint In Combat" Melee NPCs will sprint at you. Uses custom sprint animations. Aims to make combat more scary and realistic.
  43. "Better Ghouls - No Roar Animation" Removes ghouls "roar" before they attack, so they charge the player instantly - making them much deadlier.
  44. "Recipes for Weapon Mods" Allow you to create weapon mods at the workbench from garbage.
  45. "Recipes for Weapon Mods MERGED" This is basically a merged single .esp of "Recipes for Weapon Mods". READ THE DESCRIPTION.
  46. "Leave No Witnesses" You can attack a group of people without gaining infamy, but if a witness of that faction survives to tell the tale, you will be met with infamy.
  47. "Breakdown and Craft Ammo Materials - Lite Handloader Expansion" Lets you breakdown and craft powders, primers, cases, and hulls. Super simple.
  48. "Gun Oil Redux" By Sweet6Shooter. Adds 5 new repair items, each of which will repair a certain set of weapon types.
  49. "Drag Things to other cells" Simply drag things to another cell. Hostile NPCs might follow you into a home so when you kill them just drag them out.
  50. "Lootable Safehouse Keys" Lucius, Hsu and McNamara will drop their safehouse key on death. Followers Safehouse key can be pickpocketed from Julie Farkas.
  51. "Mobile Truck Base Remastered" A small mobile housing mod, remastered by Qolore7 and up to date. (recommend this over bunker)
  52. "The Mojave Stock Exchange - Revamped Edition" Literal stocks for factions who's prices fluctuate based on quests done.
  53. "Karmic Balance - Karma Consequences" Adds gameplay effects to karma. Perks are awarded for different moral alignments and FO3-style hit squads will hunt you down.
  54.
  55. [Visual]
  56. "WTH - Weapon Textures from Heaven" An HD 2K/1k weapon retexture pack that aims to update all of the weapon textures of NV.
  57. "ADAM Reborn" A decent Ranger Armor overhaul mod, you can disable the .esp if you only want the replacer since the .esp has issues.
  58. "ADAM Reborn Helmet Shadow Glitch Fix" Mesh replacement that fixes a glitch that causes some helmets to be completely darkened by shadows.
  59. "Natural Duster Coats" All ranger coats and courier dusters rerigged to get rid of the anti-gravity, floaty look and clipping.
  60. "Vanilla Hair - No Shine" Normal maps replacer for vanilla hairs, makes them less shiny.
  61. "Laser Weapon Iron Sights" Basically iron sights on all laser weapons that you can ADS on.
  62. "Diagonal movement" This mod, thanks to JIP magic, adds diagonal movement.
  63. "360 Movement" Adds 360 degrees movements with procedural leaning. (A must have with "Diagonal movement", highly recommended.)
  64. "B42 Weapon Inertia" Adds weapon inertia, goes well with "FNV Clean Animations" and "Anniversary Anim Pack"
  65. "AidUI" Displays remaining duration of consumed Aid items on the UI. (Icons might be off-centered, positions lost on load. Needs more work)
  66. "Dynamic Pipboy Light" A far superior pip-boy light mod with 100% configurable setting in MCM for power, distance and color.
  67. "PSRO - Peripheral Scope Reticle Overhaul" Removes black borders and bars and overhauls all vanilla scope reticles, with pixel perfect alignments. Made to meet the standards like modern games and love.
  68. "No Blur Menus and UI" Utterly removes blur from all menus. A must have IMO.
  69. "Better Pause Menu Screen" It's just blurred image without 3 ugly layers of low-res images. Pause menu only.
  70. "Improved LOD Noise Texture" Far better looking LOD textures.
  71. "Enhanced Bullet Impacts" Gives a little boost to bullet impacts.
  72. "Realistic HDR lighting New Vegas" This mod changes exterior lighting, sky colors and fog settings to make it more realistic. Doesn't add any new content, only changes render settings and weather presets.
  73. "No More Motion Sickness" Removes any kind of blur (motion blur, get hit blur, etc...) from the game.
  74.
  75. [Sound]
  76. "Music Addition - Mojave Edition" Adds lore - friendly, Fallout 1, 2 & 3 Music to the Mojave, instead of replacing any of the OST.
  77. "Realistic SFX" Replaces old outdated low quality vanilla sound effects, and adds new realistic audio.
  78. "Quieter VATS sounds - 2021" Reduces the volume on VATS "select-click" sound effects, comes with 3 versions.
  79. "Realistic Gunshot Sounds" New sounds for guns and related killing devices. Super realistic in volume.
  80. "Awesome Bullet Sounds - Flybys and Whizzes" Flyby and ricochet sounds to make your shootouts far more dramatic. Recommend optional realistic sounds version.
  81.
  82. [Tweak] (some are kinda gameplay but is more of a tweak/QOL/bugfix improvement.)
  83. "Any glasses with any mask" You can wear any glasses with any mask
  84. "Faster Container Animations" Speeds up the opening animation. Good for people who don't use "JAM" or "Just Loot Menu".
  85. "Constant health regeneration for Securitrons Mk II" Adds constant +4 health regeneration to Securitrons MK II to simulate their auto-repair systems mentioned during the upgrade by Mr. House/Yes Man.
  86. "Lonesome Road Nuke Items in the Courier's Mile" Unique items from the Long 15 and Dry Wells, with their associated Boss NPCs, added to the Courier's Mile. (I never have nuked the factions myself so this is for like-minded people who want the items too.)
  87.
  88. [Quest Mods] (NV Bounties series by someguy2000 is getting a remaster so hold off on that one for now.)
  89. (Might add at some point. Tbh I want to make a pastebin for this.)
  90.
  91. [Location mods] (Use the quest mods over the location mods.)
  92. (A note before you use these, at this current moment if you plan on taking the (maybe soon to be added) quest mods then beware adding these. What they do is both add and overhaul massive areas of the Mojave but they aren't currently made with compatibility in mind for quest mods and this makes them incompatible with most if not ALL quest mods that edit or use vanilla locations in the game. I would not recommend using them unless you can find patches that might be made or you aren't taking quest mods that have many location edits.)
  93.
  94. "A World of (Less) Pain - A Lore Friendly AWOP Revision" Complete stripping down/balancing of A World of Pain.
  95. "NV Interiors Remastered" Complete overhaul of chucksteel's NV Interiors mod. Made for use with MoreMojave and AWOP Revised. (Should be relatively okish to use but potential conflicts could be there atm.)
  96. "Enhanced Landscapes" A "revision" of the New Vegas Landscape Overhaul by Paladin555. (Probably ok.)
  97. "MoreMojave" Adds more locations to game (currently over 70), at the more sparse areas of worldspace. (Needs LOD generated for it. Also needs patches to work with Zion Trail/Headhunting.)
  98.
  99. [Power Armor]
  100. Yucklets made a good list on overhauling power armor seen here --> https://pastebin.com/YMtEtft8 <--
  101. Unfortunately it has become outdated and has some issues that I wanted to address so I'm putting my own list here with some explanations.
  102.
  103. "Titans of The New West 2.0"
  104. -Terrific mod that makes all power armor finally look like actual Power Armor and not a lanky man who is larping. It has all the bells and whistles that make it feel like proper power armor in FNV.
  105.
  106. "Power Armor Visual Enhancement (PAVE)"
  107. Best current re-texture for power armor bar nothing in my opinion. If you use this you should require the patch located in "Webb's Titans of The New West Patch Emporium" specifically for PAVE.
  108.
  109. "Fallout 4 Power Armor Features"
  110. Adds features to power armor, Self-carry weight, lower dehydration in hardcore super jumping! Extensively configurable. Should be very compatible.
  111.
  112. "Universal Pip-Boy Customization" This is highly recommended for it's compatibility. TNW 2.0 was rebuilt for compatibility with the pip-boy by default but this allows you to remove it or add it back whenever you wish.
  113.
  114. *Note: These are problematic with issues explained.
  115.
  116. "No PipBoy in Power Armor" Basically replaces the pip-boy with the West Tek Holographic Control Panel from Fallout 4 and removes the glove. This became outdated due to it's implementation and will have desync issues with the minigun according to the TNW 2.0 description.
  117.
  118. "Helmet Overlay" Adds a overlay to 1st person with their respective helmet. I should note that some people have reported lag issues and incompatibility with this. Personally would refrain from adding this as it looks cheesy and might add compat issues.
  119.
  120. "Battery Powered Power Armor" Makes it so you have to power your power armor with Fusion Cores. It works but the implementation is really scuffed and I anticipate major issues down the line, Hasn't been updated since 2020 so I don't recommend using this.
  121.
  122. [Outside the Nexus] https://eddoursul.win/mods/games/falloutnv/ It's annoying but most of Eddoursul's mods are hosted and updated there instead of the Nexus. It contains some standalone releases of things that were originally a module in Project Nevada but cleaned up and released as a standalone.
  123.
  124. "Cyberware 2281" Overhauls how you can get implants and adds new ones, a standalone version from Project Nevada.
  125. "Skill Book Checklist" Automated skill book checklist with DLC and TTW support.
  126. "Gear Checklist" Same as above but for all gear.
  127.
  128. HONORABLE MENTION :snig:
  129. "New Vegas Uncut 7 - Pacers Gambit" Restores the option of talking down Pacer when he tries to start a coup during King's Gambit. To see this option, you must get help from Colonel Hsu during the quest. Then when Pacer attempts to start trouble there will be new dialogue.
