  2. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  3. You continue to ignore the real reason I want AOOC muted by default, and are making up your own reasons to attack.
  4. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  5. And you have yet to fucking tell us
  6. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  7. because 'the real reason' keeps changing
  8. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  9. No, the reasons you make up keep changing.
  10. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  11. A D H O M I N I M
  12. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  13. You are too busy flipping out to take a breath and try to understand what I'm saying.
  14. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  15. So
  16. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  17. i mean i'm not the one who went from 'i don't want metagaming' to 'i don't want inappropriate antag coordination' to 'i don't want to enforce this on my own'
  18. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  19. refute
  20. our
  21. arguments
  22. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  23. ^
  24. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  25. go ahead
  26. do it
  27. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  28. You continue to put words in my mouth, PS, and then complain about what I'm saying.
  29. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  30. so
  31. refute
  32. our
  33. arguments
  34. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  35. Wow
  36. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  37. I've yet to see you do it
  38. Funklord Nito - 03/14/2017
  39. isnt that exactly what he's doing
  40. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  41. You cotinuing to say that really gives me a chance to talk.
  42. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  43. no
  44. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  45. Okay. Here's your talk time.
  46. do it.
  47. I'll sit back for a bit
  48. Sorry for cramming down on you like that..
  49. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  50. You're arguing that antags will no longer be able to plan and this will create stale rounds. I say that AOOC has not helped rounds become unstale, and even then, antags will definitely be allowed to plan still.
  51. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  52. where
  53. -cut-
  54.
  55. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  56. Okay, but some of my favorite antag rounds have occured by the result of planning
  57. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  58. In AOOC, since it isn't being removed, just disallowed by default.
  59. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  60. and my worst rounds, are, almost exclusively, those that are AOOC muted
  61. Brett - 03/14/2017
  62. Which are, cooincidentally, the majority of round types
  63. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  64. Then, Chaoko, I think your issue is outside of what my PR is doing.
  65. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  66. And what is my issue?
  67. Albens - 03/14/2017
  68. Rip chatter
  69. IRCBridgeBOT - 03/14/2017
  70. <Azlier> quick welcome me to the family
  71. Lemon - 03/14/2017
  72. AOOC has not helped rounds become unstale because a lot of people are afraid of using it outside of merc/heist
  73. A lot of that fear I would attribute to your actions mkalash
  74. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  75. I am giving staff a tool to more easily enforce 'muting AOOC.'
  76. Your complaint is that staff is doing that when they shouldn't.
  77. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  78. there is already a button to mute AOOC
  79. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  80. There is not.
  81. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  82. I can see why this tool exists, but why does it default to muted.
  83. This is what we disagree on.
  84. Gero - 03/14/2017
  85. Well is there anyone muting it but you
  86. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  87. You don't see the full picture of the round when I disallow AOOC.
  88. I don't do it every single time.
  89. Brett - 03/14/2017
  90. Evidently neither do most staff
  91. Given that you are the only one who publicly opposes AOOC on multiantag rounds
  92. Admiral Alvin - 03/14/2017
  93. Don't you just disallow AOOC whenever there are multiple antagonist types?
  94. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  95. Mka, can I ask you a favor?
  96. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  97. Now, this PR isn't going to change at what times staff allow or disallow AOOC. Can we agree on that?
  98. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  99. The next few mixed antag rounds
  100. Brett - 03/14/2017
  101. Which means that it doesn't solve problems
  102. It only creates them
  103. 🅱intendo - 03/14/2017
  104. (Which there should be less of BUT I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT LATER)
  105. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  106. Rather, single antag rounds
  107. memescope - 03/14/2017
  108. i disagree, because sometimes staff won't be on to enable it when it'd normally be fine.
  109. Admiral Alvin - 03/14/2017
  110. I don't get how planning a common gimmick as different kinds of antags is in any way endangering a round. In fact, there's a lot of potential in it.
  111. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  112. can you just have AOOC disallowed for them? I mean cult, ling, and, say.. Rev
  113. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  114. Question; If I am an antagonist during a mixed antagonist round, and I petition the administration in ahelp to enable it for the purposes of planning, would they actually consider my request or would they deny it immediately.(edited)
  115. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  116. Disallow aooc for those
  117. and see how they go
  118. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  119. if there's no button to disable AOOC
  120. just make one
  121. ??
  122. Brett - 03/14/2017
  123. If there is now a button to enable it
  124. Why not have it go the other way
  125. 👍1
  126. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  127. Because, like I said, I don't find an environment where the only way for a player to know if AOOC is not appropiate is to test the waters and thereby 1. get yelled at and 2. having already committed metagaming
  128. to be a good envinronment
  129. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  130. how is your PR going to make it any easier for them to find out
  131. Admiral Alvin - 03/14/2017
  132. What I don't like here is that there doesn't seem to be an actual official policy on that. A lot of admins are fine with AOOC being used almost regardless of mode.
  133. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  134. They perform a mistake once, they learn.
  135. Admiral Alvin - 03/14/2017
  136. And having an admin manually mute AOOC for specific round types does not quite sound like the ideal solution either.
  137. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  138. Realm, that's simply not the case. A player doesn't have enough information to determine alone when it is appropiate. They'd need to be able to check-antags.
  139. Brett - 03/14/2017
  140. I regularly tell them without any meta info
  141. Often lings will say "yo where my lings at"
  142. And rens will just say "Hey heads up there are other antags this round try and keep planning vague at best"
  143. It's pretty EZ
  144. ParadoxSpace - 03/14/2017
  145. it's largely a self regulating thing rn
  146. Admiral Alvin - 03/14/2017
  147. I'm of the opinion that antagonists can and should be trusted enough in their roles to be able to use AOOC for their gimmicks in most if not all cases.
  148. She's a phony! A big phony! - 03/14/2017
  149. Semi-related question: What does a wizard do
  150. what is it SUPPOSED to do?
  151. mkalash - 03/14/2017
  152. Use the tools of wizardy to make the round fun
  153. like any other antag
  154. Realm Code - 03/14/2017
  155. Simple, establish what is inappropriate. Have mechanics in place to give clarity without the need of player assistance, such as having them be shown in AOOC as 'ckey (antag-type)' or so forth.
