  You are momentarily disoriented as you step into this room.  You could
have sworn there was an exit...  Taking stock, you see that this room
is shaped like an octagon with silvery mirrors on all sides save the
one directly north.  This mirror seems to blaze with all the colors
of the rainbow.  A small flame burns in the center of the floor, without
any apparent source of fuel.

The children stop.

Dirty, white robes that are just a little bit too big hang off of the frame of
this child.  He or she hops and skips along, no larger than a 10-year-old
human.  A white, porcelain mask of a smiling face covers the child's entire
head.  Rosy paint smears the cheeks, a sloppy blush.  The mask's eyeholes
reveal expose a pair of murky pools and a glint of something subtly
reflective, like tarnished metal.  Pink lips spread across the mask's surface
in an exaggerated grin.  The dark blot of a tattoo is visible on the child's
pale and veiny neck, the only exposed skin on his or her body.
