  1. Brief description of project idea #1 -
  2. The first I have in mind is an application that provides more useful information when a person’s car is towed; for someone unfamiliar with having their car towed, the experience can be very disruptive and traumatizing; the app would address several main reasons people’s cars get towed: expired registration, parking in towable zone, and for other reasons; my target audience would be people that find they can’t afford the tow, the daily impound fees, and the $175 police report fee; it would provide case studies; it would different agencies where help or information may be obtained; this site would be for a person who would experience financial hardship by having to pay the police & daily impound fees; the application could have a service that contacts people when their registrations are coming due and to remind them to take care of it; and the pain & frustration that follows if they do renew registration.
  3.
  4. What problem or need does your project solve?
  5. • the site provides information & referrals around car tow/impounding
  6.
  7. Who would be a user of your website?
  8. • car owners that are income-challenged;
  9.
  10. What technologies will you be using?
  11. • Google progressive web app, ES6, basic React, Mapbox, Node/Express, and Social Media; will include requirements & technologies listed in Unit 54 Frontend Project

  14. Brief description of project idea #2 -
  15. This project would be a website that demos how blockchain technology could be used to make voting decentralized & tamper-free. One of the ideas of blockchain technology, as I understand it, is that it is built to be tamer-proof and to not require “trust”.
  16.
  17. What problem or need does your project solve?
  18. Voters should be able to vote without the fear that their vote will be tampered with. Blockchain could provide a technology that avoids the necessity of trust, thus making it tamper-proof. My goal is to produce a minimum viable product. I would simulate a voting system to test my hypothesis.
  19.
  20. What technologies will you be using?
  21. Vanilla JavaScript, Solidity, Web3.js, Truffle, TestRPC, Social Media, and MetaMask; will include requirements & technologies listed in Unit 54 Frontend Project
