  1. The SFU Computing Science Student Society will be hosting a tournament for Riot Games' Valorant on July 17th, at 5 pm and extending into the weekend. Signups for the tournament will close on Tuesday July 14th
  2. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. Sign up:
  4. • The tournament is open to anyone with a valid SFU email.
  5. • It is preferred that you sign up with a premade group of 5 people. If you can’t find enough people, we recommend searching at the #gaming channel at our discord server at discord.gg/sfucsss.
  6. • You are allowed to designate one extra person as a backup player who plays in case one of your main players suddenly cannot. Your backup player may not participate as part of another team. If your team contains an extra backup player, it is your team’s responsibility to make arrangements with csss-doe@sfu.ca to discuss prize distribution if your team wins.
  7. • Entrants who were not granted entry to the tournament may ask to participate as a substitute player who plays in the case that a team has a member who is not able to participate.
  8. • All communication with the organizers will be held over Discord. We ask that every participant have a discord account. If you do not have a discord account, please follow this guide: https://bit.ly/38FNwXd
  9. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. In Game:
  11. • Games will be played in a Best of Three format.
  12. • The organizers reserve the right to replace any player with a substitute member (described above) if said player is not able to participate. In this case, the player forfeits their prize to the substitute if the team ends up winning.
  13. • If a team is encountering issues, the team may ask that their match be delayed to a later time. Requests for delaying will only be considered if they are requested well ahead of the match (up to the organizers’ discretion).
  14. • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team or player who is suspected of cheating in any manner, participating in unsportsmanlike behavior, as well as any behavior deemed as inappropriate by the organizer’s sole discretion.
