  2. I wanted to offer a different perspective to the Windows myth of restoring to factory settings every six months. Personally, I've not experienced this since the early Windows 7 days, pre-SP1.

  4. ME was a disaster, XP had its quirks, and 7 was... decent. However, I have two computers running Windows 10 Professional, one for gaming and fun tasks such as editing videos or recording, and a second for development work. I use a variety of tools, some Microsoft, some not, and I've had the installs since vanilla all the way through 1709.

  6. I admit, I initially fought with settings being reset and updates, but with gpedit and, honestly, 1709, it's not been an issue. I'm curious to know how Mike's experience goes over the next few months, because I think the restore thing has been overblown for almost a decade. Not to say Windows doesn't come without it's issues, but I've been pleasantly surprised with their latest iterations as far as stability is concerned.

  8. Anyway, just some ramblings! I appreciated yous guyses (mafia style) discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of Windows, Linux, and OS X. Honestly, with the exception of major gaming and video editing, I find myself using Linux for all of my tasks these days. However, when the time comes to use Windows, I'm more confident than ever that it will get the job done.
