❝background❞

ღ kyo hui grew up as the only female child and the youngest in her family, guaranteeing her to have lived being protected and babied constantly. she has three older brothers named huiwon [five years older], huijoon [three years older] and kyosan [two years older]. she was raised in a bilingual and bicultural family, as her mother was cambodian and an american citizen, and her father was korean. she was born as choi kyo hui, and sovannarie darine choi in a local seattle hospital.
a year afterwards, the choi family flew back to south korea with baby kyo hui to get their stuff flown in with them when they were to move to melbourne, australia.
kyo hui’s mother was given a huge job opportunity involving architectural design for a major business company. the choi family then started a new life in melbourne from early 2003.

baby kyo hui was also put into dancing classes from a young age, starting with ballet.
from then on, she was always content with dance and began to compete and train once she’s gotten involved in more ballroom styles such as jive, quickstep, salsa, etc, as well as advancing into hip hop. her older brothers were also competitive and training in dance alongside her from a young age as well.

[ important: the choi family was also coming back and forth between seattle, korea, phnom penh and australia for vacations and small visits as well. ]

by mid-2013, kyo hui’s mother had finished her architecture project with the company, and the plan had been to move back to busan. which they did before the school year started for the children, packing up everything and settling in namgu, busan, her father’s hometown.

kyo hui often participated in talent shows and dance competitions with her brothers when they could, leading her to be discovered by jyp in february of 2014 at thirteen. once her parents had both agreed, she, along with her youngest brother, had begun their training period with jyp to become idols.

❝personality❞

ღ choi kyohui. upon hearing that name, the first thing you may possibly think of is “icebreaker”, a signature nickname of hers of course, but also because she is quite literally, the icebreaker for most people. she has a fairly loud persona and personality, carrying the ability within her body to make things easier for people so that they can laugh and smile widely. she is most definitely a people person, and tends to be very outgoing and talkative with absolutely anyone, unless they’re older seniors.

kyohui is also very funny and tends to be a mood maker, satisfying people with her sense of humor and wits. however, her humor can often be extended. this showcases the very dramatic and sarcastic parts to her personality. for instance, you could say she was eating out with the girls, and all of a sudden you’ll hear— “i swear the soup just burned a damn hole through my tongue!”

all in all, she tends to be quite disrespectful to her managers and the older members in the group, making her out to be much more childish. although, it’s usually her being disrespectful in a teasing and playful way, which the media doesn’t take very kindly. but the staff and the members already know that she doesn’t mean any harm and love her for who she is nevertheless.

behaviour towards l/i:
ღ she makes it difficult for him to make a move, often treating him like any other guy she’s particularly close friends with. with yeonjun, she tends to not make it obvious that she has feelings for him, but others surrounding them will figure out the intense chemistry they have with one another.
sometimes, there is unintended flirting, which leads to a lot more skinship and hand holding that weren’t seen as the norm for kyohui with the other guys, asides from felix of course. and, more often than not, they both individually spend a lot of time in the practice rooms, which winds up with them being around one and other/together a lot.
in the end, the members of heaven and txt just yelled at them about getting together, which yeonjun agrees to easily due to facing surprisingly frustrating issues and moments with kyohui’s reluctance.
