BACKGROUND :
　born on the fourteenth of february in a private hospital somewhere in seoul. there wasn't any fireworks or confetti when ryu haeyeon popped out of that little hole. to be honest whenever her parents were home, her mother constantly complained on how much haeyeon kicked when she was in her stomach and even before she was more or less a pain. back to her 'motivational' biography, ryu haeyeon was the only daughter and heiress of two workaholics; ryu hongbin and jung ahri, the owners of large hotel chain. there's nothing much to say apart from the fact that they were barely home and haeyeon grew up enclosed in their house with a nanny and television and internet, not that she complained. this resulted to the hermit crab y'all know now.

　ryu haeyeon doesn't really know what to think or feel about her parents. as time went by without them, she became independent but absolutely lazy. funny thing actually, there was a certain point in her life where haeyeon was so obsessed in doing what her parents tell her to do in hopes that she would be finally given love and attention to. whatever her parents told her. be like this or that, wear this, take these classes, go to this school, don't interact with people like those and all those unnecessary bullshit, ryu haeyeon ( who we all thought wasn't dumb ) legitimately followed it all without even questioning the slightest bit on whether it was immoral. though one day, when a good classmate of hers offers her to hang out and she instantly refuses as her parents didn't want her to befriend anyone despite wanting to go, they asked her; “ why do you keep following your parents instructions? it's your life isn't it? ” ah, follow classmate of haeyeon's. bless your rebellion heart – that question pondered in her head and never managed to slip away from her mind and whether she was in class or in the toilet, their question kept playing like a broken recorder and slowly by slowly and finally, haeyeon realized that this was all pointless thus from then on, she discreetly disobeyed them.

　present day and there's nothing much that's changed about ryu haeyeon. she's still taking over their hotel chains, she's still a piece of crap, she's still a so-called bitch, still spits fire and she's still a lazy ass. haeyeon has gained lots and also had as much losses that taught her over the years and still to this day, haeyeon has no sense in time management and what being social means. it takes her last minute to get her ready but this lucky idiot gets a good grade somehow as she goes to a university located in seoul, currently majoring in business management and administrator alongside a good friend of hers ( dongmin lol ).

　the woman who birthed her and haeyeon acknowledges the pain she must have went through but she was also the woman who never came when she needed her. though ahri was much more caring and lenient on her only child, she was more occupied in being a good wife to her husband than be a good mother to haeyeon. ahri agreed to her father's words even if it was clearly wrong and she didn't do much help when haeyeon was growing up so now with her being grown up, she tends to somewhat avoid ahri and when they do interact, it's quite awkward and formal as if ahri wasn't her mother.

PERSONALITY :
　wakes up feeling tired and goes to sleep feeling tired, ryu haeyeon is the kind of girl who isn't your typical happy-go-lucky child – in fact, i don't think she knows what that even is. although she can probably strangle someone whilst still looking cute, haeyeon isn't really what people presume her to be as despite that deadpan expression etched on her face and the intimidating aura haeyeon upholds, she's actually not as bitchy as she looks. there's so many sides she appears to other people that it keeps one thinking if what she's showing is actually genuine. in a nutshell, haeyeon is generally nice and won't bother you however the way she acts towards different kinds of people is amazing; to her parents and dongmin, with her parents she keeps silent and polite, whilst to dongmin she could be so caring and overprotective but towards annoying people, haeyeon could be eye-rolling and ensure that she'll bad-mouth about them later on. fear not, that resting face of hers is harmless – she won't hurt you unless she finds you alright on her radar which is simply how great your attitude is on a scale of one to ten.

　that 'i don't give two cents' expression of haeyeon's and her quiet demeanor towards strangers is why she's misunderstood, give or take times when has moved by impulse. not everyone sees that the people she holds dear to are the most important to her life and how she would be willing to do everything for them. haeyeon, once you get to know her, is one of the most caring people you could ever meet; she can be a friend, a sister, a bodyguard, a nurse, a counselor, a fan and everything all in one for you. she's that one kid who does volunteering work because it's more fun than her actual life because really she doesn't have one thus why having nothing better to do. to be honest, much like the foreigner, she's another quiet kid who's only half 'mute' not because of her personality but more on the fact that haeyeon is too lethargic to talk quite often however what comes with being quiet is that she's a good listener and an exceptional observer. watching people is her thang and she catches onto things quickly therefore problems are always detected even if her friends try to cover it and immediately would lend an ear and a shoulder, understanding them to the best of her abilities while placing herself in their shoes. though it seems as if her motto is “ i don't care ” one shouldn't necessarily believe in her words too much. it's a total lie sometimes. there is never a day when her loved ones don't pop up into her mind or she doesn't talk/think about them because she does and even if she doesn't say it out loud, haeyeon would end up missing them and worry about those precious people in her life.

　ryu haeyeon has as much flaws as the next person. haeyeon has this ability to distance herself from others and have her social circle be as real as casper the friendly ghost; her daunting exterior doesn't seem to help as if it gives out a sort of warning like an invisible sign hangs above her head that spells 'don't even try' and grew to become suspicious of people and their intentions eventually having a hard time to open up to them. as the type to overthink things for literally no reason is the outcome of her pessimism, her view of the world weighed more negatively than positive despite her knowing that there's more good than bad but to be honest it never changes haeyeon's way of thinking. once haeyeon opens that mouth of hers; it's either sarcasm, sass and comebacks for laughs or hell just broke loose. she never sugarcoats and so haeyeon's that kid who when you give the phrase of 'be honest' will be brutally honest and you can't say that it's not what you wanted to hear and her sharp tongue also comes out when she finds certain things injustice thus, no matter how small the issue is, speaks up about it. haeyeon was born a sloth. never in a million years did she have a proper answer when it came to her opinion for sports since she didn't have a liking and she never will. this girl is far too lazy and sometimes when she says she's too busy, it either means that she wasted her lifetime doing absolutely nothing so she has to do work because she's going to be screwed or she's busy being lazy as usual. which is why never trust her words of “ i'm busy ”.

  FIRST MEETING THEY MET AS KIDS.
haeyeon's 6 year old times include her going out to the park a lot. she would often rest by the bench and read books being the 'active' girl she is. hoseok and haeyeon first meet when haeyeon accuses him of stealing her book. of course, hoseok was more than confused. but the way her eyes glared at him made him terrified that he started sobbing. not long after that, hoseok surrendered and gave the book that belonged to him to the haeyeon. she left quickly afterwards without any more words, and hoseok was left there, traumatized. he swore not to ever meet the female again.

  SECOND TIME ON MY MISFORTUNE.
the second time they meet it's at a public library. haeyeon was on her way to the library to read a book and hoseok was returning his friend's overdue book. it's been years since the early accident and they had both long forgotten it. hoseok lied to his parents that day, that he was careless and lost the book as he was on his way home. both their days were going very well, and just when they both thought nothing could ruin their day, the damned figure hoseok both swore to become his eternal figure appeared before his eyes. haeyeon thought that meeting the male would just be a one time thing, but then here she is, meeting the male after two long years. they locked eyes, and it became definite that the latter recognized her, too. their faces turned sour and into glares before dismissing each other before words shared, going back to whatever they were doing.

  THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM.
the third time they meet it's at the university they both go to. it was his first class on the first day of university. a new freshman, he was anything but nervous. jung hoseok was excited! standing in the doorway of his new classroom, he surveyed his surroundings. tables with paint stains all over them, chairs splayed all around the room, walls covered with sketches and every single color of the visible spectrum. a smile broke out on his face. “ yep, i'm going to love this place. ” that is, until he notices a blurred figure, laughing with a friend. with a furrowed eyebrow, he kept his gaze on the latter's figure and when she turned her head, hoseok was frightened and that made his expression change into the exact same one he had years back when a girl accused him of taking her book. with that, haeyeon recognized the frightened face she saw years back and then a glare formed in shock, as she realized it was the male that she had unfortunately crossed paths with for the last two times in a lengthy span of years. and here she meets the male once again, in this place, in this very place. really now? him, again? is fate really playing with her by making this obnoxious human appear and disappear from her life like that? like a magic act? but well, looks like there's no more avoiding the male nor not seeing him for years because they're stuck in a place, where the students pretty much have to communicate with each other.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM : beginning, middle and end. now, i'm just going to put it out there that they don't know they're soulmates. obviously, there's probably going to be some sort of attraction (in what form is completely up to you), but don't put that they're in love straight away and dating happily by the end of the first chapter okay.

· MEET HWANG DONGMIN ( FC: SEVENTEEN'S LEE SEOKMIN ), haeyeon's childhood best friend. the only friend she befriended after the little interaction with that classmate of hers. dongmin is the opposite of haeyeon in essentially every aspect but that didn't stop them from becoming the best of friends! the two first met during lunch at school. dongmin, being the energetic boy he is, couldn't stand still and accidentally knocked a cup of orange juice onto haeyeon. rather than begging for forgiveness, he laughed as he endlessly apologized. haeyeon didn't like him at first, claiming that his attitude was just atrocious, but with him following her around, trying to get her to join in conversations more, she came to know him and understand that he was just too lively and friendly for his own good. you may ask why such an outgoing boy like dongmin would choose to stick with a drab and dull girl like haeyeon rather than his larger circle of acquaintances, but the two just get each other. there's no other way to say it because they don't completely understand either. perhaps they just have similar senses of humor and are able to bring out sides to each other that they never knew they had.
