Crawling into the light V2

[A4A] Crawling into the light [Dark]
I liked /u/CreativeBean18's tweak to make it multiple people so much that I reworked the original a little to accommodate it more readily.

It has been a long dark journey these past years.
A journey I have taken alone.
One that you set my feet upon.
I see something in the distance,
Or rather I think I do.
Is it my mind tricking me, again?
Could it be real?
I think I see a speck of light.
I walk towards it,
I start running, faster and faster.
Something unseen trips me,
I stumble and fall, in pain,
The light, it definitely is light.
I begin to feel its faint warmth on my skin.
I try to stand, to continue walking towards the light.
I stumble again, unable to stand.
I scream out into the darkness,
begging for I don't know what.
I sit and start sobbing uncontrollably.
Until I realize that  I can still crawl if nothing else.
So I begin to crawl, slowly, methodically towards the light.
It is a slow, so very slow journey now.
As I feel the heat and the light is blinding,
I see something new.
I disbelieve my eyes,
Surely they lie to me.
But, they didn't earlier,
Maybe I am seeing them...
Two pair of hands reaching into the dark,
Offering to help.
I tentatively reach out for one set of hands.
I feel the flesh of a pair of hands clasp mine,
I desperately reach out for and take the other pair.
I feel them start to pull me,
pull me out of the darkness,
and into the light.
I begin to cry uncontrollably,
maybe from the brightness,
maybe from what I see.
I see the most beautiful people in the world,
and they pull me into their arms.
Holding me tight, telling me that it's alright.
That it will all be alright now.
