  1. Perys seems to flutter his eyes, dumbfounded by the response that was given. They offer a shrug, allowing Tyr to finish his sale while his thoughts drifted elsewhere. He hadn't figured the house had been finished - though, it wasn't exactly like he was around often. He'd devoted a majority of his time to the church. Through scavenging for donations and the likes.
  2.
  3. He turns, glancing back at Jarin whom was in approach. A faint wave given to salute him. "All is well. I haven't gotten much sunlight today, so I figured I'd catch up for things."
  4.
  5. "I see you've got yourself into something though. How do you like it?"
  6. (Perys D. Valphyra)
  7.
  8. ----
  9. "You're looking at the freshest recruit of the City Watch. I joined the other day. I went on my first patrol not too long ago and I'm enjoying it. I haven't gotten a cloak yet though, but I did get this cool armor. Everyone has been treating me well, so I can't really say I don't like it."
  10.
  11. A nod is given after he speaks, glancing at Tyr as they handled whatever sale they had going on- nothing important to Jarin anyway. After a brief second, he returns his gaze over to his favorite companion. Their attire has changed which is something Jarin notes, looking at his own simple clothing.
  12.
  13. "Studying and listening are finally starting to pay off."
  14. (Jarin)
  15.
  16. ----
  17. The elven-teen is taken back in awe.
  18.
  19. "You've found a mentor, and joined the City Watch? The stars are certainly treating you well. I'm glad that I could play a role in your enlightenment. But, I won't take the credit for your discovery." he'd say, pointing a finger up toward the skyline - hinting at the cosmos. "Be sure to thank the stars."
  20.
  21. Perys ogles over Jarin like a proud father of sorts. Though, he reaffirms himself, taking to a more serious tone. "Now that you've got your foot in the door though. It's no time to relax. I pray that you put in your best efforts. And be the best City Watch that the stars allow you to be."
  22. (Perys D. Valphyra)
  23.
  24. ----
  25. "Thanks."
  26.
  27. It's true. The stars and the Cosmos were shining brightly on him. Remaining humble through times of hardships has brought him great fruits. He nods in agreement to Perys' last statement. Slacking off now would only be a disgrace to himself and to Perys who'd put in their own efforts to aid Jarin in his journey to enlightenment.
  28.
  29. "I will do just that, Perys. I'm too far in to fall all now. I won't allow anything to set me off course. But what of yourself, my friend? Have you been lead to any recent triumphs?"
  30.
  31. Jarin grew tired of speaking of only himself. He needed to know of Perys' own well-being. How had his life been going? If Jarin could help his friend in any way, he'd be willing to do it in the blink of an eye.
  32. (Jarin)
  33.
  34. ----
  35. A travelling gaze occupies the sky. He's gone in thought. How had he been? It was difficult to think. Perys lived a rollercoaster. There was good, and there was bad. And while he'd had more fortune than misfortune as of late. One could never say he was one hundred percent himself. His demons constantly battled his faith. And despite his internal wars, he'd always made time for others. Even if it made less time to correct himself.
  36.
  37. "Hm, no need to worry about me, honestly." he'd say, speaking through a sigh. "My most recent triumph cannot be fully called such. As of right now I'm racing to find someone. But, I'm not comfortable with going into details about it."
  38.
  39. "I'll be fine either way."
  40. Whether that was true or not, would be left up to fate. Lately? Perys had been drifting. His good deeds were like shots of adrenaline. They only kept him balanced for some short while. He was never actually relieved of negative thoughts.
  41. (Perys D. Valphyra)
  42.
  43. ----
  44. A low hum.
  45. A prayer? Jarin had contemplated the idea of prayer earlier this week but decided against it. Though now it felt right with Perys at his side to guide him. His first prayer to the constellation. To the stars. The cosmos. Would an answer be given or would it be shown to him in another fashion? Questions like these were the reason he decided to step foot into the Church.
  46.
  47. "I'll give it a try."
  48. Those are the last words Jarin speaks before he joins his hands together and shutting his eyelids for a moment. Silence fills the area as he digs deep within the depths of his thoughts. He didn't know how prayer worked, all he knew was that he wanted to be heard. To be guided by something above and beyond.
  49.
  50. He thinks back on his past. He thinks on the present. He thinks of the future. He wanted the stars to know that he isn't afraid to open up. He isn't afraid for them to see him for who he really is because if he ever hopes to use their magic-- it'd have to come from within. The cosmos would have to accept him, just as must as he accepts it.
  51.
  52. "Guide me."
  53. (Jarin)
  54.
  55. ----
  56.
  57. "I suppose I could."
  58.
  59. He sends a nod. Humbling himself, and looking for words which were wise. To him, prayer was nothing to do on the fly. There had to be a need, a purpose. It doesn't take him too long to gather his thoughts though. His friend Jarin, was surely in a state which required a lead. Well, let us begin.
  60.
  61. Perys speaks as the suns rays dawn from above. Parting through clouds.
  62. I call upon the many stars of the Constellation. Hear our voice. And guide us into a new light. Rhyt, I ask for your rationality. Grant us your strength, and keep our decisions fair and purposeful. To Iberl, we call upon you for observation. Let our eyes read right from wrong. And Geist, for your visions. I pray that you can show my dear friend the path that he desires. The road, and all of its obstacles. So that he may flourish in a necessary preparation for the task carved out for him. We ask not, for shortcuts, but a sign. I thankfully pray, as the sun graces our skin - that you allow us to remain under your guiding light. Esshar is wounded.
  63.
  64. Bless us, Leonaus. With your will. For times are dark. And the cosmos are our salvation.
  65. (Perys D. Valphyra)
  66.
  67. ----
  68. "Let us pray."
  69.
  70. Jarin's eyes shut tight and is hands join together, fingers locking together with ease. It has been the fault of the stars that Jarin has come so far in his adventure. The young mage is ever thankful for his meeting with the Constellation. His life has been filled with blessings and downfalls ever since, each proving enough for him to grow from.
  71.
  72. "Leonaus, the Constellation above, your guidance is appreciated. I am forever grateful. I call upon the powers of Rhyt, for your gifts of rationality. Keep my mind clear so that I may make important decisions with wisdom. Leo, I request that you keep me under your shine for I shall need the skills of leadership in future patrols with the City Watch."
  73.
  74. He stops and lowers his head, giving deep thought on his life currently. Of course his faith isn't absolute. No one's faith was. The demons of doubt eat away within but perhaps his faith proved stronger. His belief in the cosmos. It mustn't falter just yet.
  75. (Jarin)
