PERSONALITY:
→ She is very hardworking and determined. Even though she gets discouraged from time to time, she tries to not let it phase her and continues to work hard to achieve her goals.
→ Areum likes seeing a smile on everyone's faces. She would do anything for her family and friends to be happy. She tries to make people feel better by telling them jokes, making weird faces, or just acting like a spastic. She would even do aegyo if it makes them happy (though it discomforts her to no end. She is surprisingly good at it though).
→ She cares a lot about the people she loves, including her future group members, family and friends. She would do anything for them and often puts others needs before her own. 
→ She's impatient. If she's waiting for food or something in a long line, she might become a little bit bitchy. She taps her foot on the ground, makes quiet comments on how long it's taking (then she realises she's being mean and stops).
→ She's very hotheaded and can get pissed off very easily. One wrong thing could happen and she's pissed. She tries to hide it, and most of the times she's successful, but there are times where she's too pissed off to hide it and has to let it all out.
→ She can get discouraged quickly, whether it's from a nasty comment from a fan or a bad mark from one of her exams.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND:
Geun Areum was born in Suwon, South Korea to University Professor, Geun Sungjin and Doctor, Geun Somin. Her mother is Indonesian, while her father is Korean. She was born 9 minutes older than her brother Hakyeon. At school, she was well known and had many friends. At the age of 10, she auditioned at JYP Entertainment, but failed to get in. A year later she auditioned again and made it in. She was a trainee at JYP for 3 years, until leaving the company to focus on her studies.

Reason for auditioning at ACE Entertainment: "Even since I was younger I've wanted to become an idol. When I was 10 years old I finally started auditioning for entertainment companies. I was rejected many times, and I guess I did feel like I wasn't good enough to become an idol. When I was 11 I auditioned for JYP Entertainment, and I somehow made it in. I was a trainee there for 3 years, but since my grades were failing, my parents wanted to take me out of the company so I could focus on my studies. Since then I've been studying hard, but I feel like now is a good time to continue and reach for my goal to become an idol."
