basically:
>tojo clan having a meeting about profits since terada took over
>can't remember half the character's names now but that guy who's voiced by DIO's family is the top earner, followed by the Uematsu family. The kazama family isn't doing too hot at this point
>Majima bursts in, and while uematsu is telling him to stop being a fuck, he has his men bring a fuck ton of money in
>majima goes back to kamurocho and gets attacked by a bunch of people (I honestly can't remember why)
>eventually he goes to see Uematsu, only to find him dead
>he goes to see the florist, who shows him the CCTV footage, which shows ryouta kawamura (a majima family member) fleeing right after the event happens
>majima wants to track him down, so the florist tells him that he's gone to sotenbori
>majima goes to sotenbori, and first visits cabaret grand, giving them his number and asking them to let him know if kawamura shows up
>in an attempt to gain some information, decides to go to that club he went to in 0 (where you first meet mr libido, I think it was called andromeda?)
>the club changed hands and as majima starts walking away, he runs into the old andromeda(?) owner, who's leaving club four shine (which yuki owns) at the time
>the owner tells him that kawamura used to get massages at a place right near them, so majima decides to head there
>while majima is talking to the owner, koyuki sees majima standing outside and almost calls yuki to chase him off (she calls him 'a scary eyepatch dude')
>yuki thinks it could have been majima for a second, but brushes that notion off
>majima goes to the massage place, and after a bit of verbal sparring, gets the receptionist to tell him that while kawamura hasn't been there for a while, he also frequented cabaret grand
>she then guilt trips majima into getting a massage because she told him something a client told her in confidentiality (or something)
>when majima goes for his massage, makoto turns out to be the masseuse
>what follows is majima getting a painful massage while attempting not to reveal his voice or let her see too much of his face
>makoto also tells him about some of the stuff from yakuza 0, mentioning that the watch she's wearing had to have the wrist strap replaced because the old one wore out (this is important later)
>after majima is finished, he says that 'it feels like 18 year of stress has disappeared'
>majima then gets a call from someone from cabaret grand, who tells him that kawamura just arrived
>majima goes to the grand, where kawamura confirms that he killed uematsu because he was under debt from ibuchi (that dio voiced fucker)
>after this, ibuchi attempts to kill majima because he wants to make the yakuza more profitable and effective since he thinks they are too inefficient right now.
>he had uematsu killed because he was a yakuza in the old style, and killing him would help him rise the ranks of the clan.
>he also wanted to kill terada and take over the clan, before merging with the omi alliance to become the biggest yakuza network in japan
>he also wants to kill majima since that would also help him rise in the tojo clan and make his dream easier
>he is also responsible for starting to set up the war in yakuza 2 because he figured having a tojo guy kill an omi guy would kick it off.
>after majima beats his ass ibuchi then kills himself after saying that the war will proceed anyway since he already set it up or something
>after majima goes back to kamurocho, terada apologizes to him, saying that what ibuchi was planning was his fault since he cared too much about the money
>majima tells him that he needs to take firmer control since he is the chairman of the tojo clan
>but he still hates terada and thinks his way is wrong
>majima then says he needs to take responsibility since he fought within omi's territory and one of his clan members killed an omi guy
>terada says that the omi alliance want to arrange a meeting to explain what's happening, and majima says he has an idea for how to make things right
>at the omi alliance headquarters, majima announces that he's disbanding the majima family since it was his responsibility for his members.
>after majima disbands, he starts up the majima construction company and tries to motivate his employees, who say that they don't know anything about working construction
>majima says that he'll kill anyone who doesn't pull their weight, and they'll learn from the internet
>elsewhere, makoto is boarding a plane with her husband, presumably to leave japan
>right before she leaves, she gets a package from the massage parlour, which the receptionist says they received anonymously
>when she opens it, she receives a new watch wrist strap, to replace the one that wore out
>she's confused for a moment, and then remembers the man with the eyepatch that she told about the wrist strap
>at this, she finally puts two and two together and realizes that majima was the man who helped her in the 80's, and the man who came to the massage parlour
>she is understandably very happy, and is able to leave japan with no regrets

honestly nothing that happened in this story was really necessary
