  1. Emergency Department overcrowding is the biggest problem in increasing the patients’ dissatisfaction. The long waiting times, the unawareness of people in knowing the different departments present in the hospitals and the treatments that they can receive in them are the causes that undermine healthcare efficiency. Many hospitals are trying to find a solution for increasing people satisfaction. To keep patients informed about the conditions of the emergency rooms, Città della Salute, in Turin, has started publishing the number of waiting and in treatment people, but without giving information about the waiting time. Posting the latter would help patients in choosing the less crowded emergency department and allow hospitals to plan resources appropriately. This is the reason why the Lean concept is the pillar on which the whole project, explained in this paper, is based. Lean in the sense of addressing the patient to the best emergency department in terms of travel and waiting time. For this purpose, the aim of the project is to provide an application to Turin citizens affected by low acuity problems that support them in choosing the most suitable ED in terms of travel time to reach the healthcare structure and waiting time before receiving medical treatment.
