- Aggression: Cautious toward other apexes, aggressive toward allos and carnos in their territory.
- - King and Queen: Highly aggressive toward other Spinos
- - Nested in: Medium aggression toward other lone Spinos
- Mating: King and Queen are dedicated mates for life, and will defend each other and their offspring. Outside of the breeding season, they give each other space.
- Other: King and Queen do not defend each other against challengers for their positions, for balance's sake.
- Group Type: Pairs (King and Queen) or solo
- Male Roles/Reactions: Smaller and less aggressive than the female, takes an equal role in raising the young. Will not rush and attack threats first. Tends to favor stealth and avoid conflict. After the breeding season, he avoids the queen.
- Female Roles/Reactions: Aggressive, will drive out threats and claim an entire water system for her and her children, and will sometimes be aggressive toward her mate, forcing him to the perifery of the territory where he plays a lookout role. Cares for all children equally and will not kill the smaller or weaker.
- Typical Behaviors: Lonely, secretive, depends on stealth and ambush to drag smaller animals into the murky water. Avoids conflict with other large predators and is rarely seen out in the open. Will often stay in one water system and not move.
