  5. Exploring characters through The Beans and Rice Chronicles by Isaiah Dunn by: Kelly J Baptist
  6. Writers put a lot of effort into making good pieces, this conves the reader to change their perspective and mood throughout the story. The author Kelly J Baptist made this book with the intention of bringing light to alcoholic parents through the story, The Beans and Rice Chronicles by Isaiah Dunn. Kelly J Baptist creates the perspective using narrative point of view, perspective of minor characters, and how their own perspective on characters change.
  7.
  8. In The Bean and Rice Chronicles of Isaiah Dunn the narrative point of view is shown through perspective. To illustrate this idea Isaiah Dunn is the main character. You can tell it is through her perspective because the only time you hear her name is from family/friends this is shown when the author writers, “mama should i wake up charlie up (88)” this shows how Isaiah is the main character. Another example of this how the story says I, me, etc. This proves that the story is in 1st person view. To prove this the author states, “I sigh and cut her waffle real quick (90)” This proves that the the main perspective is in 1st person. In conclusion the main way they show the narrative point of view is shown by perspective.

  11. One way perspective of minor characters is shown by dialogue and actions. An example of this is when the author Kelly J Baptist says, “probably because you didnt cut them right (91)”this shows that most minor characters are shown through perspective and dialogue. Another way perspective is shown is through action. This is shown when the author, Kelly J Baptist writes, “charlie comes back into the room, she's got tiny, neat cornrows with a ton of beads on the end(92)” this proves that charlie might be a little snotty and showy. I think this because of how she waves her hair and how she speaks. In conclusion thee main way that the perspective of the minor characters is through actions and dialogue.

  14. One way how characters perspective change on other characters is from action and dialogue. An example of how character's perspective change on other characters from action and dialogue. One way characters perspective change on other characters is through dialogue for example, the author states, “thought you’d be here, she doesn’t sound smile but doesn’t sound angry anymore (103).” to go further into this, at the beginning of this page she is very angry. Then she figures out she is being too hard on him and goes to an apology. She then puts her hand on shoulder. Lastly character’s perspective change on other characters. one way this is shown when the author states,”your daddy would come here too, it was one of his favorite places.” to go further into this, when she says it was your daddy’s too. Isaiah feels proud and happy because her mother understand her. Wrapping things up, one way character's perspective change on other characters is from action and dialogue.
  15.
  16. In conclusion, the author, Kelly J Baptist creates perspective using narrative point of view, perspective of minor characters, and how perspective of characters change on other characters. This shows that bringing light on alcoholism can help people realise there not alone. This can help people with striving to be a better writer and person overall. Therefore this story helps people learn about alcoholic parents.
