  1. Brand New Day
  2.
  3. Touching everywhere.
  4. Try not to despair.
  5. Keep life fun and wild.
  6. But stay sure and be mild.
  7.
  8. Sometimes it burns, can’t keep it away.
  9. Oh that? Never mind, it’s a brand new day!
  10.
  11. I’m in control, always have been!
  12. Until the day ends, then suddenly…
  13.
  14. Fin
  15.
  16.
  17. Poem analysis: It’s about the cyclical nature of conflict. More specifically, the cyclical ups and downs of OCD as I've experienced it. The push and pull of letting go vs. being in control. The occasional mental assault of obsessions, and sometimes even the unintended physical pain of compulsions (skin picking, hair pulling). Everything can feel fine until it’s not, everything can change tomorrow… or perhaps not. There may be no symptoms for a long time.
  18.
  19. The "Fin" here represents the completion of a cycle, which can line up with the end of the day. The severity or lack thereof can make days feel cursed or wonderfully normal.
  20.
  21. For clarity, this isn’t a cry for help, just have a long history with moderate OCD. Things are better these days. Just simply expressing myself during a moment of inspiration!

  23. Hope you like it,
