  1. [Sunday 20:10]
  2. [109th] Akaviri13:
  3. You probably know, Vitamin left the unit, he kept saying something about me favouring certain people over others (besides slippulter and pürpking). Whats your opinion on this? I personally dont think I do, or atleast intentionaly
  4. well you probably dont know actually
  5.
  6. Monday, 11 November 2019
  7.
  8. [Monday 16:58]
  9. Hermit:
  10. i'd agree with him. It's subtle but it's there. Except purpking who you're blatantly tsundere for
  11.
  12. [Monday 16:59]
  13. [109th] Akaviri13:
  14. Hm, what makes you say that its there?
  15.
  16. [Monday 16:59]
  17. Hermit:
  18. The way you're nicer to some people
  19.
  20. [Monday 16:59]
  21. [109th] Akaviri13:
  22. Specificly vitamin said I try to cater everything around crazy and design missions around him, which is outright false.
  23. I would really like to know specificly who you think Im nicer to so I can insult them right away.
  24.
  25. [Monday 17:01]
  26. Hermit:
  27. crazy actually.
  28.
  29. [Monday 17:04]
  30. [109th] Akaviri13:
  31. I still dont see how though... I mean, I guess I dont yell at him much but he hasnt given me much reason to, there was this one time where I did call him retarded, I really dont think I do treat him that differently, maybe a little subconcously I guess...
  32.
  33. [Monday 17:04]
  34. Hermit:
  35. and whilst you designing missions around crazy might be outright false, there *is* a general sentiment in the group that you do actually do that... not that the people who think it dislike crazy, he's a great guy, but the sentiment is there
  36.
  37. [Monday 17:04]
  38. [109th] Akaviri13:
  39. fucking why
  40. he doesnt even play most of the time
  41.
  42. [Monday 17:05]
  43. Hermit:
  44. probably dating back to the single pmc mission he helped you design.... and when he says things in missions like "it sure would be useful if Y happened" after we've fucked up, and Y kinda... happens...probably also due to his excessive RPiness, but that one in particular is out of your control
  45.
  46. [Monday 17:09]
  47. [109th] Akaviri13:
  48. I dont even remember the pmc mission you are referring to... and that thing with stuff appearing is most often actually just either bad timing, because it would have happened anyway, or if it wouldnt have happened I would have done it when someone else said it aswell, like there is no point having you walk for 50 minutes because your car broke... His RPiness is also nothing I calculate when making the missions, I mean yeah I guess I engage in it when he is here, but its never planned and always improvised... which is why its so shit...
  49.
  50. [Monday 17:10]
  51. Hermit:
  52. i did say the RPiness was out of your control :D
  53.
  54. [Monday 17:10]
  55. [109th] Akaviri13:
  56. What do you think I should do about this? Demote him or something?
  57.
  58. [Monday 17:10]
  59. Hermit:
  60. that would just be weird, he's the best leader we have
  61.
  62. [Monday 17:11]
  63. [109th] Akaviri13:
  64. I mean, I dont even want vitamin back, he always causes drama so im good, so I wouldnt do it for that but I dont want anyone else to leave "because they dont want to deal with the double standards" that arent even there if you look at it logically...
  65. I dont know man... shit like this really makes me wanna quit doing this...
  66.
  67. [Monday 17:16]
  68. Hermit:
  69. you need to make them feel more engaged and that you listen to them and care about them actually having fun, and be less punishing when they go off scriptlike the fri-sat mission, used a different stamina system that slowed down what was already going to be a slow mission, if you'd asked everyone if they wanted to use the new stamina system and explained what it would do, and they said yes, then that's great, but what happened was we suddenly have a new system that we have to figure out and that wasn't fun to deal with
  70.
  71. [Monday 17:16]
  72. [109th] Akaviri13:
  73. New stamina system?
  74. Woops I guess
  75. might have been an oversight from switching servers...
  76.
  77. [Monday 17:17]
  78. Hermit:
  79. weird red bar in the bottom that almost never went green because... we were too heavy i guess?
  80.
  81. [Monday 17:17]
  82. [109th] Akaviri13:
  83. Yeah... thats the vanilla system
  84. RIP I guess
  85. was not intentional and I didnt even know till now
  86.
  87. [Monday 17:17]
  88. Hermit:
  89. it being full red prevented things like... auto jumping and running and caused worse than usual weapon sway
  90.
  91. [Monday 17:17]
  92. [109th] Akaviri13:
  93. Well rip, Ill fix that for next time
  94.
  95. [Monday 17:17]
  96. Hermit:
  97. uh not auto jumping.... advanced movement
  98. basically just engage more with the players on what types of missions they want to play, combat light/heavy, milsim light/heavy etc. people like choice
  99.
  100. [Monday 17:20]
  101. [109th] Akaviri13:
  102. I can only point to the 3 feedback channels on the discord and the fact that I literally always say that I want suggestions... What more do you want from me... Im not making 4 different missions and play whatever you want to play at the time. And deciding beforehand isnt an option, most people are incapable of a simple "Yeah Ill play on that day"...
  103.
  104. [Monday 17:22]
  105. Hermit:
  106. people aren't gonna be proactive, you'll need to use polls sadly. Like "what do you want to do monday?" options - checkpoint, scout, assault. etc Then close that poll 2-3 days before so you have time to make the mission
  107.
  108. [Monday 17:23]
  109. [109th] Akaviri13:
  110. Alternatively I could just save myself having to endure all the bullshit and just leave because it is really starting to get not worth it. I stopped having fun while doing this about half a year ago. And its getting worse and worse.
  111.
  112. [Monday 17:24]
  113. Hermit:
  114. if you're not having fun then yes, you should definitely stop
  115. like, i don't want you to stop, but if anyone else stops it enjoying it, then they stop, so the same should be able to hold true for you. you don't owe anyone anything
  116.
  117. [Monday 17:27]
  118. [109th] Akaviri13:
  119. I dont want to stop, I want it to be fun again. Not sure how to make that happen though. I dont know, im just expressing my thoughts here... maybe Ill have someone from the admin team make the polls cause I cant be bothered...
  120.
  121. [Monday 17:27]
  122. Hermit:
  123. that works too.
  124. it's what the admin team is there for, to give advice and to do the tedious stuff
  125.
  126. [Monday 17:30]
  127. [109th] Akaviri13:
  128. Yeah the only one other than me that actually does stuff that benefits the unit in any meaningful way is opdog with keeping the server up to date and he said he wants to help me script stuff for missions in the future... I really have to start having the others do shit... admin is pretty much just a title right now, no responsibility...
  129. I also want people to stick around after missions and give me feedback but thats not really possible with everyone leaving early and shit. None of my rules are really enforcable either, we barely got enough players to fill a squad anyway so I cant ban or kick people without hurting the unit...
  130. I need an HR department
  131.
  132. [Monday 17:33]
  133. Hermit:
  134. then remove the unenforceable rules . Smaller groups need to be more flexible
  135.
  136. [Monday 17:36]
  137. [109th] Akaviri13:
  138. There are no unforceable rules right now, Im gonna start enforcing the teamkilling rule, especially during one life PMC missions, I was talking about stuff that I want to happen but cant make happen with this group size
  139.
  140. [Monday 17:37]
  141. Hermit:
  142. "None of my rules are really enforcable either""There are no unforceable rules right now"?
  143. Yeah about one life... if it's rare, it's fun, if it's permanent, you'll lose more people
  144.
  145. [Monday 17:40]
  146. [109th] Akaviri13:
  147. I was talking about my rules that arent a thing yet, the ones we have right now are fine, but I want to add to it, which I cant
  148. The goal of having one life missions is playing without anyone dying.
  149. I was looking at a PMC Unit, they only do one life missions and they write mission reports how things went down, they have like 30 people playing and only had 2 casualties for 3 missions in a row.
  150. The way we have been doing things so far, very relaxed and casual without any real tactics is just not what I want to make missions for, I have been trying to get the group more serious for a while, so far nothign worked
  151.
  152. [Monday 17:43]
  153. Hermit:
  154. that's the sort of thing you should poll "do you want permanent 1 life on". That way everyone playing is on the same page, rather than you thinking "this will be cool" but none of the people who are actually on the ground not zeusing really liking it
  155. You wanting to make tactical missions + Everyone else wanting to play casually = Mission maker and mission players are playing different games.Need to get everyone playing the same game
  156.
  157. [Monday 17:51]
  158. [109th] Akaviri13:
  159. How is that possible to do? Its not, because they opposed gameplay styles that cant coexist. I dont want people to have less fun or stop joking around, thats not what I intend to do, I just want to squash the autism that has been running rampant in this unit. Vitamin said at some point that he felt like crazy was trying to prevent people from having fun because he was trying to enforce radio disciplin. I do not want to do that, what would be the point in that, but I want people to take things more seriously. If the players dont want that, we have stopped being a unit a few months ago and Im fine with leaving and somone else can place down a respawn and zeus so people can have their autism.
  160.
  161. [Monday 17:53]
  162. Hermit:
  163. Talk with everyone about what you want, see what they want, see if any compromises can be made.I'd ignore vits comments about radio discipline. People actually prefer it when its kept
  164.
  165. [Monday 17:55]
  166. [109th] Akaviri13:
  167. I dont know, I need some time to calm down I guess...
  168.
  169. [Monday 17:56]
  170. Hermit:
  171. *shrug* if you think it'll help
  172.
  173. [Monday 20:38]
  174. [109th] Akaviri13:
  175. is there autism mediciation?
  176.
  177. [Monday 20:47]
  178. Hermit:
  179. no, but they do medicate for things people with autism also have that make it worse
  180.
  181. [Monday 20:48]
  182. [109th] Akaviri13:
  183. ADHD medication will have to suffice then
  184.
  185. [Monday 20:48]
  186. Hermit:
  187. that's actually the other med they give
  188. and tranquilizers oddly enough
  189.
  190. [Monday 20:49]
  191. [109th] Akaviri13:
  192. I wanted to name the training op Operation Ritalin
  193. you know, to curb the ADHD/autism that seems rampant in the unit
  194.
  195. [Monday 20:50]
  196. Hermit:
  197. didn't help that our first ever training op was given by even worse autists and our second one had an officer saying how stupid it was :D
  198.
  199. [Monday 20:51]
  200. [109th] Akaviri13:
  201. These ones will be planned... I was gonna say better but that implies the other ones were planned
  202. as in, planned out, obviously they were scheduled
  203. and intended
