  1. >Dragons are very fond of the parts of their treasure that they've had the longest
  2. >They will often go out of their way to protect their oldest treasures rather than their most valuable
  3. >You've been friends with Kinisha since birth. Both of your mothers were very close friends, and decided to live next to each other so their children would grow up together
  4. >It seemed like a sweet sentiment, until it came time and they realized they were raising a human male and a mamono species notorious for loving that which they've been around longest
  5. >Kinisha was quick to bond to you as a child. She was a few years older than you, so she got to see you (and occasionally hold you) as an infant.
  6. >Her mother often told the story you of how Kinisha would take you to her room and place you in the corner that would one day hold the beginning of her hord, and how she cried at the sight of your mother taking you back home.
  7. >You found it cute, but Kinisha would turn red at the mention of it.
  8. >Now that you think of it, she always did make you sit in that corner whenever you went over for playdates
  9. >At least you were never bullied as a child. Kinisha made sure of that. She would keep a watchful eye on you whenever you were out on the playground in your elementary days, and kept the troublemakers far away during high school
  10. >However, Kinisha was also the reason you never had any experience with girls in your teenage years
  11. >Many a mamono had tried their hand at getting into your pants, some forcefully and others even more forcefully (The manticore of the school had to move to another state after what she attempted. You're legally not allowed to speak about it.)
  12. >Kinisha would always grab them by the scruff as drag them away, threatening them with death for "daring to touch her treasure"
  13. >None of the girls you ever asked out would stay out of the hospital for long. Kinisha was very protective of her treasure, even if said treasure did not need such protection
  14. >It would have been obvious to damn near anybody that took a minute to think about how Kinisha looked at you to understand how she felt
  15. >She had so much love to give you, and you only had to notice her deep red blush whenever you stood close
  16. >You knew how much you meant to her; putting you in her treasure corner, the protective instinct over you, her consistent desire to just be close to you
  17.
  18.
  19. >Summer break was finally here, and you were looking forward to nothing more than your room in your house, with no responsibilities for the next three months
  20. >You would also be seeing Kinisha for the first time since you left for university last year
  21. >The light scars on your chest and arms are testament to her clawing at you from behind, trying anything to get her oldest treasure to stay with her a little longer
  22. >If get mother's report later that week was true, she was crying over your departure until she passed out the next day, and then resumed after she came to
  23. >She was inconsolable until you agreed to call her once a week and promised to visit on breaks. It's just like a dragon to slip into a depressive state after losing her favorite treasure
  24. >After the close calls that were your winter and spring breaks, wherein 1(one) leg was broken and car keys "lost", respectively, you decided to confront her this summer
  25. >But how to approach her?
  26.
  27. >Kinisha opened the door, half asleep, half angry at not being fully asleep
  28. >That is, until she saw who had ring the doorbell
  29. >Her hands went to her mouth and tears began to take shape in the corner of her eye. Half-gasp-half-cried words of thanks to God that you came home safe were barely escaping her mouth
  30. >Her head was buried in your chest and her claws dug softly into your back as she gratefully accepted the fact that you were finally here, able to be touched. You wonder how many times she had to have imagined this exact scenario in her head on those countless lonely nights
  31. >"You've been gone too long, my flame."
  32. >Kinisha's tail rhythmically hit the floor as you returned her embrace
  33. "I'm back, Kinisha."
