  1. Interviewer: Hello and welcome to Some
  2.
  3. Asian Kid Interviewing People. We have a
  4.
  5. special guest here today to talk about
  6.
  7. G8's recent decision to aid Europe's
  8.
  9. currently declining economy. Our first
  10.
  11. guest here is politician Billy
  12.
  13. McDermpuffs, how are you feeling today
  14.
  15. Mr. McDermpuffs?
  16.
  17. Billy: I'm feeling great, Some Asian
  18.
  19. Kid. How are you?
  20.
  21. Interviewer: I'm feeling fine myself,
  22.
  23. thanks! Now, as you know, we're here to
  24.
  25. talk about the G8 meeting on the euro
  26.
  27. crisis. What is Europe's current
  28.
  29. situation and why are they putting so
  30.
  31. much emphasis on it?
  32.
  33. Billy: Well, Some Asian Kid, the
  34.
  35. eurozone is currently in some financial
  36.
  37. crisis, especially in areas like Egypt
  38.
  39. and Greece that have massive debts and
  40.
  41. job shortages. Europe is very important,
  42.
  43. so the G8 leaders are all quite
  44.
  45. concerned about the wellbeing of it's
  46.
  47. economy.
  48.
  49. Interviewer: What is the eurozone
  50.
  51. exactly?
  52.
  53. Billy: The eurozone is also known as the
  54.
  55. 'euro area.' It basically encompasses
  56.
  57. all countries that have adopted the
  58.
  59. European 'euro' currency.
  60.
  61. Interviewer: I see, I see. So how are
  62.
  63. they going to change the situation and
  64.
  65. what goal do the G8 leaders hope to
  66.
  67. accomplish by doing so?
  68.
  69. Billy: The main thing they are going to
  70.
  71. do is to create freetrade deals. They
  72.
  73. are going to put as much effort as they
  74.
  75. can to create jobs in Europe. The G8
  76.
  77. leaders wish to promote the creation and
  78.
  79. growth of jobs. The European Union and
  80.
  81. some individual countries have already
  82.
  83. began reforms with the goal of improving
  84.
  85. growth in the longterm. In Germany as
  86.
  87. well, they've been doing budget cuts.
  88.
  89. Interviewer: Good, good... and what did
  90.
  91. Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper
  92.
  93. have to say about this during the
  94.
  95. meeting?
  96.
  97. Billy: Harper said he wanted to
  98.
  99. ressurect teetering economics, freetrade
  100.
  101. deals, create jobs and stimulate growth.
  102.
  103. He does not want to use a lot of
  104.
  105. government spending, and he is working
  106.
  107. towards a freetrade agreement with the
  108.
  109. European Union.
  110.
  111. Interviewer: So what kind of things are
  112.
  113. they putting government spending into
  114.
  115. instead?
  116.
  117. Billy: They said they wanted to invest
  118.
  119. in education and modern infrastructure.
  120.
  121. This increases government spending.
  122.
  123. Interviewer: Finally, with these
  124.
  125. possible new agreements, how do you
  126.
  127. think this will affect the liberal
  128.
  129. rights of common citizens?
  130.
  131. Billy: Not a lot. The goal is to help
  132.
  133. the economy by creating jobs without
  134.
  135. increasing government spending. If the
  136.
  137. tax rates stay the same, then there is
  138.
  139. no issue. Investing in education and
  140.
  141. infrastructure, on the other hand, is a
  142.
  143. different story.
  144.
  145. Interviewer: Interesting! And one more
  146.
  147. thing: what are your thoughts on this?
  148.
  149. Billy: I think it's a fine decision,
  150.
  151. they aren't increasing spending and
  152.
  153. that's always a good thing.
  154.
  155. Interviewer: Thanks for your time, Mr.
  156.
  157. McDermpuffs. That's all the time we have
  158.
  159. for today, I'll see you next time,
  160.
  161. folks!
