  9. I have been a member of this network longer than almost any of your opers, I was a General on eFnet since before most of you knew what IRC was, Odyss3us is an icon, I have literally been saluted in a bar, by someone I had never met, when they found out who I am.
  10.
  11. And he was practically crying when he talked about the impact I had made on his life through my writings.

  14.
  15. Asher is one of the top AI researchers in the world, there are probably under 500 people in the world who really get that conversation between me and transhuman and why it is so fucking incredible. I can't do this anywhere but Freenode.
  16.
  17. You really think I'm trying to damage your network? Do you have any idea the respect someone like me has for the NET?
  18.
  19. I've copied Vernor Vinge on this, I've been trying to get him to join IRC again. This is what the old guard doesn't want to deal with.

  27. 01[06:45] <Crusher> Fuchs!
  28. 01[06:46] <Crusher> I see you guys cleaned up my accounts
  29. [06:46] <@Fuchs> Introoter: we rarely set Hold, but as long as it is there, we tend to not drop them
  30. [06:46] <@Fuchs> Introoter: best action is to probably forget about that nick
  31. 01[06:46] <Crusher> I assume using L1nd unregestired is not against TOS in simul with this account?
  32. [06:47] <@Fuchs> Crusher: as long as you don't abuse accounts to evade it should be fine, and by now you do know our rules
  33. [06:47] <@Fuchs> so if you don't break them, you are fine
  34. [06:47] <@Fuchs> Crusher: if you start any of spamming, evading, "recruiting" or the likes again: you're not. Very simple.
  35. 02[06:48] * Sabotender (~Sabotende@unaffiliated/sabotender) Quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds )

  39. 01[06:51] <Crusher> Fuchs: my guess is you are going to k-line me again
  40. 01[06:51] <Crusher> but it will not be for the same reason
  41. 01[06:51] <Crusher> I'm adjusting my tactics
  42. [06:52] <@Fuchs> adjust them to "not getting k-lined on freenode"
  43. 01[06:52] <Crusher> Fuchs: my very nature is against your TOS, I have to walk the line
  44. [06:52] <@Fuchs> Crusher: in this case I'll happily remove you from the network for good.
  45. [06:53] <DarkZero> lol TOS on IRC
  46. [06:53] <@Fuchs> that would solve it.
  47. [06:53] <Introoter> lol

  51. 02[06:54] * Crusher (~jason.lin@207-118-156-137.dyn.centurytel.net) Quit (K-Lined )
  52.
  53. If that is a TOS violation YOUR TOS is wrong. And much of what is in your TOS shouldn't apply to the person trying to bring about the federation, but I'm willing to play by as close to your rules as possibles.
  54.
  55. Hi,
  56.
  57. as you stated yourself:
  58.
  59. [13:53:09] <Crusher> Fuchs: my guess is you are going to k-line me again
  60. [13:53:22] <Crusher> but it will not be for the same reason

  63. [13:54:11] <Crusher> Fuchs: my very nature is against your TOS, I have to walk the line
  64.
  65. You are well aware on what freenode is for and what it is not for. If you are well aware that your "use" of our network is not wanted in that sense, you can, as we told you in the past, best move to a different network where your kind of activity is welcome; not abuse ours always at the risk of getting removed.
  66.
  67. Kind regards,
  68.
  69. Christian (Fuchs on freenode)
  70.
  71. Jesus fucking Christ Fuchs.
  72.
  73. I am getting progressively better. And its getting easier to stay with the exact framework of your rules. Yes I expect you to k-line me from time to time. But killing me completely is very damaging to the cause, which if you follow any technical doctrine you know that I support. I respect you and your staff, I know you are just doing your jobs the best you can. Can you respect I have role to play too and I'm doing mine the best I can?
  74.
  75. What do you want from me to get this lifted? And no matter what I expect my account to be intact, it's 13y.

  83.
  84. We have roughly 90'000 users who manage right away, not taking months or even years. So it can't be that hard.
  85.
  86. The "getting better" is highly debatable, given a colleague just recently had to clean up after you, which you seem to have noticed.
  87.
  88. > I respect you and our staff, I know you are just doing your jobs the best

  91.
  92. On freenode you very much don't. We are a network for free / open source software. I wouldn't mind that "war" and "fleet" things you do _if_ it wasn't interfering with our communities, but it very much is. So: no.
  93.
  94. > What do you want from me to get this lifted?
  95.
  96. To behave in a way which is not "getting you k-lined from time to time". We have very easy rules, you just decided to not go by them and repeatedly told us so. As long as this is the case, I don't think you belong on freenode.
  97.
  98. > And no matter what I
  99. > expect my account to be intact, it's 13y.
  100.
  101. And with a 13 year old account you should know how to behave without getting k-lined, but apparently you do not.
  102.
  103. As stated: we are a network for free / open source software and peer directed projects. What you are doing is not only off-topic on freenode, but actively disturbing valid projects and their users. As long as this is the case, I don't see any reason for you to be on freenode and thus to lift that ban.
  104. Use our network for the intended purposes, do whatever you must do somewhere else, where it is either welcome or at least tolerated.
  105.
  106. Regards,
  107.
  108. Christian (Fuchs on freenode)
  109.
  110. We're a fringe organization. That has gotten more tightnit. I have done NOTHING to abuse any project. All of my "disruption" takes place in general channels.
  111.
  112. I didn't know your account policy, I told dax if he/she needed to clean that up I understand. I would have done it myself if I wasn't k-lined and could have been walked through the process of closing accounts.
  113.
  114. The open source I do is in pure information, my team through freenode manages wwidew.net gratus. There is someone working on some of my stuff right now because I framed it he would be a member of ###STARFLEET and his name would be on the work next to time. I am so close to having a functional organization where I can correlate this stuff back to other channels. Jim of ##linux did not have problems with my behavior in his channel and I was probably more "out of line" in there by most. Read that #ai chat, that's high level AI discussion between serious researchers, myself included.
  115.
  116. Fuchs I am Odyss3us, The Bastard of Cyberspace, I fuck with the gods (read *you*) and the gods fuck back but I don't stop until I make positive change. Freenode is outstanding, but most of your users and administrators are children compared to those of us who have been on IRC since the near beginning. I want to help you make it better, and I get it doesn't seem like that now but I swear to you if you continue this dance with me you'll only likely k-line me 4-5x/year for 48-72 hours WHEN I AM OUT OF LINE. Simply stating that I will be out of line should not be enough to justify a k-line let alone the account deletion it sounds like this is heading.
  117.
  118. I have most of my troops in place, after June 27th everything should be much easier. And that's even if Nadella doesn't approve the promotion I gave ScottGu under Ballmer but yeah that would certainly help.
  119.
  120. Satya: I'm not official, I'm labeled as insane, do you understand what it takes to do my job?

  148. Okay, as you pointed out yourself with the above, you don't belong on freenode, thus the ban will stay in place. If we see you evading it, whatever host used will be k-lined as well. All accounts newly created to evade and/or continue said behaviour will be deleted.
  149.
  150. I want a vote, with results by nick, on this matter.
