  2. That is a big part of it, Mary Kate has given several signals that though may not be a hard No still mean No, and Smith has continued to push at Mary Kate's boundaries and Dan has manipulated the situation to require Mary Kate's presence to remedy

  5. At this point hes not going to see mk for some time. His father is going to come and collect him. He is his Son after all and his Dad has some fairly serious resources at his disposal.

  11. And this is an important thing about talking to the Storyteller about direction. Effectively we spent mist of last session trying to figure out Smiths hidden messages about what you the player wanted to happen Dan. Had I known what direction you where looking at going we could have discussed that outside of game first. What I would like you to do now is think of what Smith woyld have been like if his wartime never happened and his interests in firearms had just been training guys at his Dad's PMC.

  27. Well I hadn't been expecting Fatima to fucking show up. So I went with the best direction I could for the character
  28. Now you are asking me to change everything?
  29. This is kind of fustrating

  32. Lets break this down.
  33. Smith, a person of training and resilience, a supreme combatant in the field of battle apparently suffers from MASSIVE ptsd. To a scale that should require some VERY heavy drugs to even out.
  34. He sees a woman he cares for die in his arms, for all intents and purposes.
  35. then he finds the woman he was with for years, but has had no contact with for like 4 or so years is around by way of his father, as her Fiancee just died.
  36. post a combat scenario, he finds out that the woman he thought dead, isnt, and demands answers from her angrily.
  37. she doesnt really answer, and disappears.
  38. this is where the thought process becomes.. strange.
  39. Granted, Fatima is an emotional point, yes, as is Mary Kate. Whom, Id like to remind you, that he told there was no other women too.
  40. Now, anger is certainly normal, as it stems from confusion and no answers.
  41. perhaps a -brief- flashback. Like a few minutes. Not hours. Certainly not days.
  42. That being said, the issue from this point becomes 2 pronged;
  43. the first is in character, and the second is well, manners sort of.
  44. looking at the first issue, is that you've effectively written youtself into a corner. It happens to writers sometimes, when they have someone do 'what they would have done' without thought to story or consequence.
  45. Because you've really shown with the character and your ooc probing that you NEED mary kate to have your character be functional.
  46. A woman that your character dropped in on, and was at first happy to see, but now sees Smith for the broken man he is.
  47. She herself just lost someone close to her, and Smith is demanding her back into his life by the actions hes taken. Shes accomdated, reluctantly so far, trying to set boundaries that he continues to break.
  48. and now, she hears hes shot by some assailaints. Not at war, but at home.
  49. and that scares the hell out of her. For him, and for herself and the kids she looks after because their parents really dont.
  50. His tough guy abrasive attitude has made him basically completely unlikeable to the party, and to most of those around him.
  51. So, his next of Kin is reached out to. After all, his Dad runs a PMC and that was discussed in the facility a few times; Shelby even knows where the compound is physically at. Remember he dropped Smith off there.
  52. So, Justin Larrone, who Smith was incredibly rude to at the first and only time he met him, is faced with the decision, does he keep an emotionally unstable Nova at the facitility in an effectively prisoner state, or does he release him, legally, to his next of Kin?
  53. The answer becomes the latter. So his Dads going to collect him, and basically let no one but doctors see him for the next while. He doesnt want people thinking his son is weak.
  54. especially in his line of work.
  55. Where that goes from there is yet to be decided. But thats the culminiation of Smiths actions and choices.
  56. Now,
  57. there is the social aspect to this.
