  1. [OOC] Unix says, "deja vu..."
  2. Julius responds to Unix: "Well, information is my special-ity!" Julius beams. "What would you like to know?"
  3. Unix says, "What actually WAS going on? I have very little feed information, only that some gunshots and an explosion happened... Also why was the security building empty?"
  4. Ellbeth nods to Unix. "I agree. In other circumstances I would have been able to supply you with considerably more information before you had to commit. But, sorry Julius, the Workout Room in Steel's doesn't function well for people like me who use magic or mental abilities.
  5. Julius: "My capabilities are limited in that regard." You get the feeling that he would rather take 40,000 volts to his left temple than admit his capabilities are limited, but, there you have it!
  6. Julius: "Now, as to what was going on, I do believe that the Hero Team was in fact able to assemble all of the major pieces. . .
  7. GAME: Save complete.
  8. Julius: A band of potentially violent protesters, thwarted in their attempts at civil means, managed to infiltrate the coal mine on Community Tours day.
  9. --------- New Activity ---------
  10. Unix says, "CONSOL would rather have killed everyone and destroyed the mine rather than give in to said demands... What... WERE they protesting about?"
  11. Julius: The corporation in charge of the mine, having succeeded in preventing the protester's message from reaching the population at large, quickly grew alarmed. How to prevent the message from getting out? They were willing to sacrifice at least some of their own miners in order to proceed with their vastly expensive (and vastly profitable) orbital power-sat plan.
  12. Since the coming and going of Peak-Oil, renewable energy has been attained at ever-increasing premiums. And CONSOL wanted, very much, to cash in.
  13. The activists were against the power satellite plan wholesale, and without reservation. Adamantly so, for reasons the CONSOL hierarchy were unable to understand. Bribery was attempted, as a careful scan of the profits sheet would reveal (( req: Bribery skill ))
  14. However, the protesters refused to be bought off, so, CONSOL decided instead to shut down their message in the media, bribing the news and internet rep outlets instead of the protesters themselves. This is what lead, inevitably, to the standoff.
  15. --------- New Activity ---------
  16. Unix says, "Ever increasing premiums..." some 'green' energy was always going to be very expensive, and really wasn't any better for the environment, in many cases were worse. "Assuming the scenario continued, i have little doubt we would have taken out the guards with weapons, and then helped everyone in the mine go, along with helping to expose what they were trying to hide..."
  17. Julius: "You would be free to do so. These simulations are also serving a dual purpose . . . we AI can learn, by observing you, which missions you are likely to be best-suited for in the real world."
  18. Unix nods and bows a bit to Julius "You have been very good and fair at showing me my shortcomings, as well as giving me valuable experience for things to consider. Data lone cannot compare to actually experiencing these challenges.
  19. --------- New Activity ---------
  20. Ellbeth nods, then asks, "So, Julius, how do you rate my effectiveness?"
  21. Julius to Unix: On a personal note, had you been in position to watch the news truck at close range, instead of Jet, you might have thought to observe the broadcast dish and your radio senses would have revealed it to be inoperative, or, with (( a good roll )) discerning perceptions, a fake. This would have alerted the team much sooner. Even as early as 4 PM, sim-time.

  24. <Public> Amplitude has connected.
  25. Jet has disconnected.
  26. <Newbie> Jet has disconnected.
  27. <Public> Jet has disconnected.
  28. Julius to Ellbeth: "I would not presume to do so . . . my . . . -capabilities- are, as you noted, quite inadequate to properly model what you are, and are not, capable of doing."
  29. [OOC] Wolf says, "salty AI?"
  30. [OOC] Wolf says, "you be the judge! :)"
  31. Ellbeth says, "You're being too kind, Julius. We had plenty of time before the deadline was even close. I should have investigated the Media situation far more thoroughly."
  32. Julius to Jet: "Observation is your strong suit. This has been well established by your record in the prior Sims. However, there does come a time for Action. It is perhaps significant that your -Android- compatriot was the one to, shall we say, "Save the Day" . . . after leaping a tall building in a single bound. Whereas you were, shall we say, onscene already." Julius ends his "<tact>" markup there. "Food for thought, as it were."
  33. <Newbie> Jet has connected.
  34. <Public> Jet has connected.
  35. Jet has connected.
  36. --------- New Activity ---------
  37. [OOC] Jet says, "Back."
  38. Unix looks to Ellbeth "I wasn't aware of a media precence... for almost all of it."
  39. [OOC] Wolf says, "That's a hard clue to pick up on . . . media silence is mainly only noticed by -omission- of approp. poses . . ."
  40. [OOC] Jet says, "OOC Unix says, "deja vu...""
  41. [OOC] Unix says, "deja vu was referring that i'd sworn i've done this scene before... months ago..."
  42. [OOC] Jet says, "I meant. That was the last message I received."
  43. [OOC] Unix says, "so you were out of it for a while?"
  44. [OOC] Ellbeth says, "There was a satellite van with the TV news crew. Elly could have, should have, listened in to the new transmition to get an idea what the protesters wanted. She failed to do that. If she had she would have realised the TV was silent on the issue and the TV crew were faking."
  45. [OOC] Jet says, "Yeah? You could say that? That was the message my client gave me, so I'm wondering what I missed?"
  46. *** You have received a +vote ***
  47. --------- New Activity ---------
  48. [OOC] Ellbeth says, "Thanks for the RP all. Thanks for running, Wolf. Early breakfast and then to bed for me."
  49. [OOC] Wolf says, "Take Care, Ellbeth!"
  50. --------- New Activity ---------
  51. [OOC] Jet says, "Take care!"
  52. [OOC] Unix says, "see you ellbeth!"
  53. You paged Ellbeth with 'Yes, your observation is valid. I was, in fact, semi-expecting you to do so . . . but, in the absence of that investigation, I had event proceed realistically.'
  54. You paged Ellbeth with 'Take Care, and Happy Breakfasting !!!'
  55. <Newbie> Ayesha has disconnected.
  56. <Public> Ayesha has disconnected.

  60. [OOC] Jet says, "Now for the interesting part."
  61. [OOC] Jet says, "Wolf: 'Jet is a tank' Ellbeth: 'you're a bit of a glass cannon, Jet'"
  62. [OOC] Unix says, "Julius: Unix, you thit things..."
  63. [OOC] Unix says, "^hit"
  64. [OOC] Unix says, "so anything to finish up with or go over still? Thoughts?"
  65. [OOC] Jet is still wondering if he missed anything.
  66. [OOC] Wolf says, "Up to you! Any questions on Julius' debrief?"
  67. [OOC] Unix says, "not really... he covered it pretty well... more situational awareness and investigation..."
