[Opening shot of school field, all is empty and quiet, and then a breeze is heard] (Make sure the name and emblem of the school isn't shown, as to keep the ambiguity to a minimum)
[Dissolves into a high angel shot of the backpack. Lighting on backpack puts emphasis and maybe even symbolism on it]
An arm from out of shot reaches over and pulls the backpack offscreen. Camera pans out to reveal Michael as the one holding the backpack.
Michael reaches into the backpack and pulls out an apple or some fruit. A jealous student watches from afar. Camera zooms in on his simmering disgust, the twitching of his eyes as he stares at the backpack and his eyes widening as he thinks a plan.
[Cue melancholy piano music]
[Transition fade into the backpack being along, shot being focus on backpack but then soft focus to reveal the student's silhouette approaching the bag. Just as the student reaches the backpack, scene fades to black and the music quietens down to silence]
[Next shot suddenly opens to worm's eye view of Michael at the scene of his missing backpack. Piano music jumps in, prefferably like a scare chord and then frantic music]
Michael is worried, looking everywhere for his backpack. His facial expressions convey to the audience that this backpack is off great loss, and his profusing sweat and constant worry imply a deeper purpose of the bag.
[POV 'shakycam' as Michael leaves the room and walks down the hallway/corridor, taking note of the silence, discarded trash/stationary and the emptiness of it all]
[POV shot of the student hiding behind a corner, watching Michael grow increasingly worried. Music has now becomg more 'stalker' like, as if the student were hunting Michael]
[Security cam footage of Michael walking down the corridor towards the lockers. Michael notices that his locker is open and feels around for anything but finds nothing.]
Michael: *screams in anger*
Michael kicks the locker. Music is gone and is replaced by the sounds of heavy breathing and a pulsing heart beat. Michael looks behind him and turns around his a furious face.
[Camera tilts above a head to show Michael's face.]
Jump cut to the student holding the bag, accompanied by a woosh sound effect.]
[Shot of Michael's face, slow zoom on his expression from anger to worried]
[Shot of the backpack again, this time zoomed out a bit to show more of the student]
Michael: Let it go...
[Snaps back to the previous shot but now the student opens the bag]
Michael: No- (offscreen)
[Camera zoomed in on bag as the zip opens. Sounds of the screaming damned flow out of the bag. Sinister violin music plays]
[Shot of Michael's face has his expression like half anger, half defeated disappointment]
Michael: Damn you...
[Shot of the open backpack is zoomed back a bit to show the student's hands opening the backpack wider]
Student: Interesting backpack. Not only can one bring out something from the bottomless void but one can seal away something, or someone, forever. (hisses the last part, marking him a chaotic evil)
[Shot of Michael shows complete defeated disappointment on his face, perhaps even a hint at sadness]
[Shot of backpack opening further still]
Student: Since you are the sole possessor of this accursed item, it should be only fitting that your demise should come from your signature item, your magnum opus.
[Shot of Michael has defeated disappointment fading into sadness]
Michael: Why?
[Shot back at backpack, now fully open. Screams and sinister violins music are both loud and frantic.]
Student: You can ask them yourself...
[Shot of silhouette of Michael screaming upwards]
[Jump cut to the school field, camera tilts up to look at school, Michael's scream echoes off into silence]
[Next shot is camera footage of the student's silhouette walking out of frame, audience is supposed to take notice of the time difference from the last security footage shot]
[POV behind student's head as he walks out of school, camera then looks down and pans to towards the backpack on his back, music is melancholy violin]
[Scene fades to black and credits role. Ambiguous epilogue can follow if desired]
