Failure

[14:05] A thick and corrupt viel of miasma would surround the buttefly demon, almost as if it was a shiled to filter out what was allowed towards the creature. Large golden-tipped wings that glistened with the same colors of the night sky would be seen flapping at ridiculous speeds, large coral eyes now glancing down at the sight of what was none other then the ookami pup Poppy.

"We are The Unison. Vast in quantity, scare in patience. Identity yourself child!"

The Unison had been fairly irritated with everything that was going on today, its temper and voice fluctuating often as a sign of that. Seldom was the creature disrespected on a level that it was not to long ago and now there was an undying desire to let its anger run wild.

"We will not repeat ourselves child!"

[14:12] Reunan was casually strolling along to his home and back from Crafthold, where a casual stroll was running at the speed of an ookami on steroids, the man's strength was not lacking as he used his legs to push leaps and bounds in place of pure leg speed.

But what's this? A familiar demon face near his farm? This couldn't bode well without any sort of context. The Ookami stops in his tracks, a slow rumble of earth followed his halt. Like an immovable object that had met with the ground and the ground lost.

[14:19] An ear twitches at the sound of a noise, low and grumbles like a angered bear. Sharp and demanding.

Turning around, plopping themselves on the ground. A little tilt of their head towards the massive flying creature.

It was apparent... That this pup didn't hold that much knowledge. Their clothes tattered and speckled with dirt. They reeked of nature and mud.

Though another visage approaches from the corner of their eye, head turning shortly after. An immediate faster wag of their tail to see kin!

Only natural to roll on over and plopping themselves at their feet, bright gold hues glancing to the older Ookami. More so just wondering what they were up to.

[14:30] "It is to our understanding that you are the lesser form of the one we encountered earlier. Interesting indeed. We can learn much from you. You shall come with us." A raspy yet feminine voice would be emitted from the butterfly demon towards the child as its wings lit up, shining their bright light towards the child almost as if they were attempting to hypnotize it.

"Come now child. We must be going." The sinister an eerie rays of light would continue to beam down on the lad as the demon spoke and if they did their job the child would follow behind The Unison as they lured him to their destination.

[14:38] Reunan seems to ignore the demon at first, leaning down with a smile at Poppy before swift hands reach down and go to pick her up like an adult would a child. There was very little spoken, simply a soft and happy smile, as if to say hello to a child as he hefted her into the air a bit to show his strength. From his core pulsed a feeling of safety at any cost. His tail wagged slowly behind him as he slowly put her down, taking on a more serious tone to is visage and looking at the butterfly demon.

Still no words were expressed, his body covered in what seemed to be stone, yet soft to the touch like a hardened layer of skin that retained a relative smooth texture. Slowly his stony exterior began to 'melt' away to the skin beneath. Every crack and hole made within the stony shell expressed a heavy shine of exorcising light, accompanied by an oppressive pulse of mana within his body, tensing up his muscles in an intimidating display.

He did not want to fight the same demon twice over the safety of another child, but he would should the demon continue, waves of protective energy washing over Poppy.

[14:46] A toothy grin that'd expose her sharp canines, practically beaming once he picked her up like nothing. little arms extended to reach out and grasp his ears in a warm welcome gesture.

But she'd only be placed down behind him, only then would the pup get a eye full of the alluring creature's wings beat against the air. Beautiful and entrancing colors causing Poppy to slowly scooch her way forward.

The warmth was felt, perhaps it was strong enough for Poppy to shake her head, ridding of the trance the creature attempted to pull her in.

And thus, she was merely a spectator between the two.

[15:05] Neo Invidia whispers something.

[15:13] This was really becoming annoying.

The one known as Reunan Volos had made a second attempt to impede The Unison in acquiring what they desired, and now the butterfly demon was absolutely furious.

"Again you try to impede us when you barely escaped with your life the first time?! Your intelligence is almost as minuscule as your species life expectancy. You will learn the hard way why it is frivolous to oppose us! We are Unison! Vast in quantity and intellect!" The raspy feminine voice would echo through the plains as the butterfly demon quickly maneuvered around the battlefield, bobbing and weaving all of the attacks the ookami managed to dish out while bombarding it with attacks of its own. The conclusion of the battle would be the same as the last one, with the victor being the cosmic butterfly demon herself.

"You were foolish to stand against us!" The buttefly would begin to channel its energy through its wings, occultic and ethereal spheres forming all around its entire body, all being hurled at high speed towards the ookami lad.

WHAM!

The sound of the cosmic spheres slamming directly into the leg of the ookami would be like music to The Unison's ear.

"We don't have time to indulge you any longer. We will be taking that one with us. We will allow you to live only so that you may notify the one who is attuned with the infinite. We expect to see you and him soon." The raspy voice had made its demand clear and would now make its way over towards the pup ookami, commanding her to follow them.

"Come now child! We must be going. We have much work to do."

[15:27] The butterfly demon was met with silence and a steady gaze to every word that they expressed outwards. His arm the same metal as his Talwar, using the very limb as a shield in his defensive stance. Rushing head long into the demon's attacks like they were nothing outwardly. Inwardly he was in a growing rage at the absurdity of the powers of demons and their kin. But even some demons held a higher intellect than to attack children in front of the Ookami.

He embraced every attack and shrugged it off even as they cracked through his body. Panting as he held his sword up defensively, face stalwart in the face of such a cursed creature. The spheres were met with a strong downward slash of his sword, a few exploding and releasing their energy, one being captured in his Mythril hand and held against it's path in a protective holy sphere. But there were far too many to hold back, his leg being buffeted by several more spheres, knocking him to a knee briefly as his leg's bones had once more been broken.

It was a familiar pain as he knelt there, holding one sphere of darkness at bay in his mechanical hand, energy starting to fade in pain. His eyes shot to poppy swiftly, no words spoken but a faint tilt of his ear's tips showed his remorse for the young girl he was unable to protect. His left arm began to shake as he stared at Unison, a sudden fanged smile crossing his lips as the rattle of Mythril filled the air, the orb threatening to break through his grip.

He slammed the sphere on the ground, releasing it's energy and crafting a cloud of derbies in the wake of it's explosion. He wouldn't give up, it wasn't his nature to simply let bullies have what they wanted. From the cloud of Debris the ookami seemed to launch himself through the air, relying on his strength and endurance to make his leaps and bounds towards crafthold, the passing of Neo and Myfi might show which direction he was headed, but he did not stop his motions.

An ookami with purpose, but lacking a pack, the lone wolf retreated to it's den.
