  1. When I was young, I never understood the phrase, "Jump? How high?" or what, exactly, it meant. The concept of someone caring enough about me to drop everything that they're doing for my sake, or I, for someone else, was very foreign.
  2.
  3. It wasn't until I met Chris that I began to figure things out. And it wasn't just jumping, it was little things that would make each other smile, like picking up Chris's favourite snack while shopping without him knowing, or having picked up a bottle of my favourite whiskey when I've had a horrible day. It's forgiving someone after they lash out after you, or being the shoulder to cry on when times are hard. And sometimes it feels like there's nothing but hard times, and the only thing that's getting me through the day is his goofy face poking in the door, smiling as he waits to pick me up.

  5. There was also the line of "you'll know it when you'll feel it." Honestly, I kind of hate that one -- because I didn't feel it at first. Love isn't always this spontaneous thing that suddenly blows up your life and leaves you wondering what the hell happened, sometimes it's a slow-burning fuse that burns brighter and faster over time. Once it's burning white and hot, though, you'll wonder how you never noticed it before.

  7. Speaking of white and hot, sometimes I feel like I'm the sun, big and shining and maybe just fiery enough to give you a sunburn just by crossing my path. Which is why I love Chris. He's the moon -- constant, beautiful, mysterious, and the only source of light in a dark, starless night. What a great analogy for balancing each other out, huh?

  9. Chris, I promise to love you for the rest of my life. I've been scared to say it like that for some time, but I'm not scared anymore. I will always be by your side, fighting for our right to be lazy slobs who want to do nothing but cuddle all day. You are my everything.
  10.
  11. Anyway, before I get too cliche, I'd like to end my vows with a quote from Twin Peaks, our favourite show.
  12.
  13. "Chris, I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange."
