from a young age, araya was expected to be the best at everything that she did. home schooled, she was never allowed to live a leisurely, carefree life like most kids her age. no, she was expected to study, start getting involved with the business, go for extracurricular classes, be the perfect heiress.

her progress in studies, creative arts, etc. was carefully monitored by her parents, who accepted nothing short of the absolute best. harsh punishments were the result of bad progress.

sure, she had access to things that most kids didn't have. trips to exotic locations overseas, access to money that could get her anything that she wanted. but due to an overwhelming amount of stress and pressure, the cons certainly outweighed the pros.

the only who was there for her was her maternal grandmother. anong winai's mother; araya would always hear tales about how strict her grandmother was with her mother. however, "yaai" - which is what she called her grandmother - treated her like a princess.

yaai was the only one who listened to her problems, comforted her when she was down, defended her when her parents were displeased.

however, yaai passed away when she was 11, leaving her devastated. she started to build walls around herself, and became closed off. she became the robot her parents wanted her to be; the perfect, flawless heiress.

when she became a teenager, her parents decided that it was time for her to join a school. interact with other people, see the world outside their huge mansion.

araya was admitted to a prestigious private academy, where many other rich children went to. she was encouraged to form friendships with as many people as she could.

however, being locked away all her life - physically and mentally - high school was a terrifying experience.

she could only see fake people who were only being nice to her for her money, professors with expectations; more expectations, a sudden need to impress people, eyes watching wherever she went, whispers behind her back, forced smiles, hyperbolic rumors and harsh gossip.

she started to feel afraid of even stepping out of the house, people scared her. she cried herself to sleep at night. finally, it reached a point where she started crying and screaming in the mornings and had to be forced out of the house. and soon she wouldn't even leave her room.

that's when her parents decided to take her to a psychiatrist. she was diagnosed with social anxiety and dysthymia (a mild form of depression that's more persistent than severe. google it lol).

that's when she met her first "friends". (these were the other slots of the story.) their meetings took place under unusual circumstances, and all of them came from different walks of life, but they clicked anyway.

her parents were also forced to become more empathetic to their daughter's needs, which resulted in a stronger bond between them.

with their help, she was able to slowly overcome her social anxiety and dysthymia, although it does haunt her to this day.

after that, araya graduated, started getting more involved with the business (attending meetings and going on business trips). however, life seemed to have more strange things in store for her, as she started to receive anonymous texts that simply could not be traced.

and that brings us to the present. on a train, as all the passengers freeze and a familiar "ding!" comes from her phone.

personality: one glance at araya and you can immediately tell that she is not the kind of woman that you want to mess with. an air of authority, confident stance and a dominant demeanor are the first things you notice about her. maintaining a poker face that gives away little to nothing about her thoughts or feelings is something that she has mastered. cold as she is beautiful, she often comes off as emotionless.

despite her past, araya is a strong female who walks with her head held up high regardless of the situation she is in. she made herself a promise, that she would never let herself feel as low as she did when she was suffering from her illnesses. a promise that would last for her lifetime, one that she fulfills everyday.

usually a quiet individual, she likes to look at life from the fringes and simply observe people and things before she chooses to directly intervene. sharp and cunning, she is quick to pick up on the little hints dropped by people, though this causes her to get paranoid at times. although she usually doesn't have a lot to say, when she speaks; people listen. she doesn't believe in sugarcoating anything, and gets straight to the point. she's "honest". brutally so.

arguing with her is like trying to run through a minefield in stilettos: unless something miraculous happens, you will be dead before you know it. araya will not hesitate to fry you with facts and uninhibited arguments, making her a formidable opponent in debate. her weak spots seem non-existent and she never loses her composure. even when she's wrong. which is not very often, considering how she is well-versed in a lot of things.

araya can prove to be surprisingly passionate about the things that she loves, behind that cold, emotionless mask. it's a ravishing sight to watch her usually dead-looking eyes light up and a wide, rare smile grace her features as she gushes over things that actually interest her. it is this side of her that often attract people - what lies beyond the placid surface?

in a relationship (of any kind in general), she can be extraordinarily sweet and caring. she will always do her best to make you happy, and will shower you with love and affection. you will be one of those rare people to see her "alive" side. an attentive person, she will get you thoughtful gifts and remember stuff that most people would forget. she's always there for you, and a comfortable shoulder to cry on. she can be territorial, and gets jealous easily. unfortunately, she lives in a constant fear of being betrayed. but this paranoia keeps her on her toes, reminding her to ward off anyone that might be trying to take advantage of her.

however, it's near to almost impossible to be her "real" friend. she's a very suspicious person, especially after being immersed so far into the ruthless world of business. she trusts no one, and is not willing to trust anyone either. not unless they go through a series of tests that prove they are someone worth her time. she's an extremely loyal person, and highly valued trust in a relationship. if she actually does like you, she will expect the same level of respect in return.

araya absolutely despises showing weakness of any kind. she's the type of person who would seem stoic in the face of overwhelming situations, only to break down when she's alone. she often spends sleepless nights where her insecurities torture her to the point of tears, but will still wear a poker face the next morning. her vulnerabilities are her secrets, and it takes a lot to get her to open up to you.

to wrap it up, she's a strong girl with her own weaknesses.
